      Good activity if limited time
We went for the 10am bus starting at stop 1, which was just a short walk from our hotel. Although it was an extremely hot day, sitting upstairs was pleasant with the natural a/c. We stayed on the bus for the full loop & enjoyed hearing about & seeing Darwin. It also gave us a good overview of the size & layout of Darwin. We returned for the noon bus as that's the first bus that takes you to the military museum. After spending some time at the museum we caught the 2.10pm bus back. Commentary was good & we enjoyed this as an easy activity if you have limited time in Darwin & and the weather is very hot.

A great way to see Darwin. Very informative commentary throughout to journey and you can visit attractions
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Did one look of Darwin before deciding where to visit, thus requiring a second look. We chose to stop at the military museum at East Point.

      Good stop off point.
Not often enough, sadly. Good commentary. Well patronised. Doesn't run frequently enough in "off " season. Good stop off at Gardens for a bite to eat at Tea Rooms.

      Restricted services
The tour and information was excellent The problem was that there was a 90 minute wait between stops. This meant we were unable to make the stops we wanted to in the timeframe we had. When I asked about the 90 minutes between pickup I was told they only run one bus this time of the year as it’s not worth their while. For a restricted Service we should get a discount.

      Great bus trip
The hop on hop off bus is always a good choice to get around and see the sights of a city and this was no different in Darwin. We always do one full loop to see what we want and then on the second loop we get off. We chose the markets (wouldn't bother with them again), the Bombing of Darwin/RFDS and the Oil Tunnels, both of which were excellent.

      Was extremely useful
It was a very useful service for us to travel to the important attractions and to appreciate the beauty of Darwin. It covered almost all-important centres in the Darwin city and we were able to join the bus at a stop close to the Crocosaurus cove purchasing our tickets from the Crocosaurus cove counter. Bus drivers were very friendly and there was a fine commentary with an educational value about Darwin. After seeing Crocosaurus cove we were able to spend a fair time at the Museum and Art gallery (MAGNT) and the Darwin Military Museum using “Big bus” as our mode of travel to them. The bus route passed stretches of the ocean front and this area was extremely beautiful.

Like most all Bus Tours, this was good.
how do you rate a bus tour? maybe it's not the tour itself but the city you're touring which needs reviewing. a bus is a bus is a bus, and this bus is the same as every other bus on which i've done these tours overseas. it suited our needs perfectly, allowing us a good general view of darwin. the whole trip took just over an hour, which is a good way to go before deciding where to get off and explore. what perhaps deserved it's own rating was the commentary given. talk about australian humour - it was either eye-rollingly embarrassing or tongue-in-cheekly hilarious.

Sightseeing in a double decker bus
The hop on hop off bus was worthwhile catching to see the sights of Darwin. The commentary provided relevant and historical information about Darwin & surrounds. The bus stops at all the tourist sites or within easy walking distance. The bus stops were easy to find and the timetable was easy to read. Would recommend.

Very convenient way to explore Darwin and learn a lot of its history.
The hop on hop off bus, as in many cities of the world, is a great way to tour Darwin City and learn much of its history as you go. It is easy enough to do a complete lap before deciding what attractions you wish to get off and spend time at! Could not recommend it more highly as a great tourist service.

Great way to see parts of Darwin
Great way to see the city and learn about some historical facts. The voice over is very well done and as the ticket is valid for 24 or 48hrs (depending which one you purchase) I listened to it a couple of times and it was still interesting. Great views from the top deck but aircon on deck 1 if you need it. Driver was gentle on turns, stops and speed bumps which I appreciated with my dodgy knee.

Best way to get around Darwin to see everything!
What a great way to get around Darwin! My husband and I loved cruising around the top deck of this guided tour bus - weather was amazing! The tour guide had extensive information about Darwin and surrounding area - we enjoyed getting off at Mindil Beach Markets on Thursday afternoon. We booked a 48 hour ticket and split it over two separate days. The tour guide and bus driver was excellent in helping us navigate everything we needed to see.

      Mixed Bag !
Mixed Bag. A good day but some down spots. We were left behind at two spots - the tunnels and the ferry. We were at the ferry spot before the due departure time only to see the bus disappearing - some distance away - hardly a mistake. Same at the tunnels. When we said something all we got was - "Oh yes - he always does that" - as if our time was a joke to them. The bus was well set up - great roof up top and cool below. Commentary a bit monotonous but it had to be I guess. Being left at two spots took the gloss off it a bit.

I chose to buy the 48 hour bus ticket and bought my senior’s ticket from the Booth at Stop One. The driver was super helpful explaining the options when I was deciding on my purchase and recommended the purchase of tickets for attractions I planned to visit over the two days. This proved to be a great choice as the line up to purchase tickets at some of the attractions was quite long.
Every driver was courteous and readily provided assistance to those requiring help to enter or exit the bus. They also clearly explained the times for pick up, drop off and location even though the brochure clearly displayed the timetable.

On the first morning a heavy shower saturated the top level seats so the driver quickly provided a chamois and the seats were soon dry, ready for departure. Up top there was a great view and often a cooling breeze which was most welcome. Downstairs was very popular as it was air conditioned, a must on 36 degrees days.

The bus is great value, takes you to the major sites, and even provides a 5pm service on Thursday evenings to the Mindil Beach Markets. The commentary was interesting, informative and often presented with Top End humour.

I’d highly recommend taking the bus if you don’t have your own transport or would prefer just to sit back and relax.

The audio narration of the whole journey is funny and humorous. Good sight seeing trip, We rode on the longer afternoon route, and the views were magnificent. Remember to ask the driver when you get off when the next bus will come.

We bought our tickets in the afternoon which enabled us to have two half days of travel around Darwin with the drop offs and pick ups suiting our transport requirements for dinners and lunch as well as the tourist attractions.. The drivers are friendly and extremely punctual. We never had to wait past expected time. Riding in a double decker was fun and the commentary very interesting, but not sure how visitors without good English would manage.

This bus offers a great way to see the main sights in Darwin without having to rent a car. I was able to see Cullen Bay, the Museum, Parap Market, etc with running commentary and ample time to hop off and explore before the next bus came. Worth every penny!

A great opportunity to see the main attractions, the recorded audio is informative with some Aussie humour. The driver was great, he provided some personal information and tips at the stops on how to best experience Darwin. A local with great passion for the town and lovely customer service. Also had the extra benefit of going out to Mindel markets at 4.30pm after the schedule runs had finished - a unexpected bonus for the day.

For the visitor, the town of Darwin is a relatively small place. This trip helps enormously with orientation around the CBD, Waterfront and close-in suburbs. Staying close to the Waterfront - this tour really helped with my subsequently finding my way around the town. The canned commentary is informative and worked well for me - even if just a little cheesy.

Drivers/Staff were friendly and helpful. The bus frequencies might have been higher - but it was the low (dry)season and they worked well for me.

The slightly longer afternoon circuit was well worth it.

Excellent way to get around Darwin and get your bearings for the rest of your stay. Stops at heaps of the tourist spots and points of interest. We visited the Art Gallery and Military Museam using the bus, and revisited other areas on other days as you don't have time to do them all in a day.
