    Darwin Harbour Cruises
    Stop: 3 hours
Your cruise will depart from DOCK 3, located at the very end of Stokes Hill Wharf, city side. Crew members will meet you under the large white umbrellas and will commence boarding 20-minutes prior to the cruise departure time. Generally you will leave Stokes Hill Wharf, travel along the Esplanade cruising along at 4 knots past the Larrakeyah Naval barracks, Cullen Bay and Fannie Bay. Your experienced skipper reserve the right to change the route subject to tidal conditions, guest’s safety and comfort. Tidal conditions determine how close to the coast the 'Charles Darwin' can operate. Hear knowledgeable commentary from the crew on Darwin History, Cyclone Tracey and the bombing of Darwin. In the past there have been sightings of crocodiles, dolphins, turtles and dugongs, however there is no guarantee you will see wildlife on your cruise. You will experience a Sunset on Darwin Harbour followed by Darwin’s skyline lit up at night. The Vessel - Charles Darwin The ‘Charles Darwin’ is a steel-hulled tri-level catamaran originally named Shangri-La Princess. Built in Adelaide in 1990 for the Stannard family, a well-known name in the boating industry. ‘Charles Darwin’ was built for use on the Gold Coast “Broadwater” taking passengers from Surfer’s Paradise to the Shangri-La resort on Stradbroke Island. After many years’ service, two further owners and two name changes, she became part of Darwin Harbour Cruises family in April 2010. After extensive re-build and refurbishment in Brisbane, she sailed for Darwin as the ‘Charles Darwin’ in August 2010.

Not worth paying for dinner
Sep 2021
We booked the Sunset Cruise with dinner, The cruise was nice with ample room to move around and take your sunset photo's and selfies etc. Dinner was a buffet arrangement and you had to wait to be called up to stand in line to get your food
which consisted of a mere 2 mains to choose from (1 Fish and 1 Chicken) and a mixed vegie or salad combo to add to you small choice of mains. You then got a choice of a dessert. Some of the people on the cruise did not get a roll as they had run out!!

I would recommend this tour (cruise only) as it ticks the box to get the spectacular sunset shots and a good view of the harbour, but considering the dinner part is about $45 per head (drinks are extra), I would save your money and go and eat elsewhere.

Sunset and bubbles
Sep 2021
It was wonderful watching the beautiful sunset while sipping bubbles on the harbour cruise. There was plenty of delicious food and it was interesting learning about Darwin's history and points of interest from the water. The staff were very lovely and I admired the way they gently reminded people to use the tongs when picking up the oysters and prawns...surely you would use tongs even pre-COVID.

Exceptional. Great value, good, service, views.
A beautiful comfortable boat. Beautiful views. Staff were friendly and service was exceptional. Food was delicious, great variety and amount. The experience felt generous and good value. We requested to sit outside for better views of the ocean and sunset. It was romantic for my husband and I. Highly recommend!

Have spoken to Michelle from Spirit of Darwin and she won't pay our refund. We cancelled because we were in lockdown. She claims they are working through it. Sounded like she wasn't intereseted. Be aware if booking ahead of schedule.

Great Way to Pass an Evening in Darwin
Sep 2021
I very much enjoyed the cruise. The staff were lovely. The commentator was knowledgeable and entertaining. I would have rated my experience 4.95 if that were possible. The only fault was that the fish was dry/overcooked. Otherwise, the food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Beautiful weather and a beautiful sunset only added to the positivity of the cruise. Not to overstate the obvious, but Darwin is not Hong Kong. It's a small town. There is no dramatic night-time skyline to see from the harbour. There is, however, plenty of natural beauty as far as the eye can see. All in all, a great experience for the solos, couples or families!

Nice Cruise
Sep 2021
Fairly enjoyable evening cruise, the buffet dinner was wonderful. Staff were very friendly although the captain? - the fellow who did the funny life jacket presentation, was great during that but then became quite brusque and solemn afterwards which spoilt the experience a bit. Fortunately, we had some very entertaing company in the form of two rascally elderly ladies on the table next to us, otherwise I feel that the trip went on far too long. Once the sun went down, there was nothing to see and the boat was just zig zagging around the harbour while the food courses came out. I noted many people just sitting looking very bored.
Maybe have the main course ready as the boat departs.

The first 1 1/2 hrs was great the last hour was a waste of time ... so boring boat stopped and started all way back to dock ... food was ok pricey for what you get ... drinks prices were ok ... another tourist rip off ... glad we got it part of our package abd didn't psy $64

Dining at Sunset
Sep 2021 • Couples
Wonderful evening and we had one of three tables outside in the bow. Food well served and plenty of choice. Staff friendly and efficient. Sunset maybe not as good as some nights but it didn't seem to matter.
