We attended the twilight climb on a cool late December evening. Check-in required you to be fully COVID vaccinated and return no blood alcohol (via a breathalyser), both done before entering. It was the first time for the guide with our group. While confident he did have a tendency to speak quickly and turn away when issuing some instructions which was hard for my partner who has difficulty hearing when people turn their backs. The safety is excellent and at no point should you feel concerned.
At the top of the south pylon we encountered a previous group heading back. Another guide took over and regaled everyone with information. Problem is some of it was ridiculous. Claiming Mt Tibrogargan was viewable 130km away (it's 60km away) was just plain wrong and we mentioned it at the time. Also saying you could view Mt Warning in northern NSW was highly questionable given the Main Range intervenes. Entertaining banter nonetheless.
The climb proceeded well and we were afforded great views in all directions. Our guide stuck pretty much up the front talking to the front couple so we didn't get any other info that may have been imparted (we were at the rear of the procession). The sun set and the bridge lit up on red and green lights. Photos were taken at a few points along the way although there was a delay when our guide needed to consult a colleague about settings on the camera.
I recommend the climb, especially this one late in the day. Check the weather though, I don't expect it would be much fun on pouring rain.

Fantastic experience climbing to the top of the Story Bridge. Our tour guide, Ruby was very engaging, had a great sense of humor and lot of interesting anecdotes to share about the bridge. Views from the top were spectacular. I would recommend the 4:20 PM and later slots to get good view of the city lights. Plan to be at the reporting-location 15 min in advance to allow yourself time to change into the safety gear.

Had a great time doing the bridge climb. Our guide Angus was fun, full of knowledge about the bridge and Brisbane history and made the experience enjoyable and relaxing. Great city views from the top. The tour goes at a pace that suits all ages and fitness so highly recommend for any age group. A great activity to do when in BrisVegas

This tour was actually more fun than the Sydney Harbor Bridge tour I took six weeks earlier. The pace of both was fine- I’m 78 years old and had NO PROBLEMS keeping up. Our guide, Jess, was fabulous! She gave us lots of information but didn’t make it feel like a rehearsed speech. And she interacted with us, answered questions, and appeared to be enjoying herself rather than just doing a job. She is a real “sweetheart”. The twilight tour is great because it is still light enough at the start to get a good look at the city, then as the sun sets and lights come on, you get a totally different perspective. I felt like I got full value for my money, something that doesn’t always happen on guided tours or cruise ship shore excursions. So live a little… TAKE THE TOUR! It is a rare experience, and you’ll be glad you did.

This was an absolutely amazing experience. Our guide, Sharnie, was very good-humoured and knowledgeable, sharing a lot of history about the bridge and the Brisbane region in general. Seeing the whole city from the top of the bridge as the sun went down was an incredible experience, and one I won't soon forget. The photos Sharnie took during the climb will definitely help with that, and the photo package was cheaper than expected as well!

I loved my adventure climb up Story Bridge with (English) Emily. We had a lovely small group which meant lots of time at the top of the bridge talking about all the fun facts we could see from the view. Emily kept us engaged and interested at all time, also making sure we felt comfortable and secure as we climbed. Safety procedures were also very well managed preclimb and I had every confidence we were in safe hands. Thank you Story Bridge team. You made my day.

An amazing experience….
We are here in Brisbane from the UK visiting relatives. They had kindly arranged this experience for all 13 of us to climb the bridge.
We embarked on the climb with our guide Chap, he was brilliant. Very friendly, professional and an excellent communicator.
Highly recommend the twilight climb as you get the best of both worlds, it was a
light on the way up, and you experience the beautiful sunset over the city on the way down.
This is a must if you visit Brisbane and you don’t mind heights.

What an incredible experience climbing the iconic Story Bridge. From the induction through to the last step of the climb safety is paramount and the climbers well being. It’s such a magnificent feeling reaching the peak of the climb and absorbing your surrounds with some really interesting history of the areas nearby. Sharnie was an amazing climb guide who looked after all her climbers extremely well. It’s a must for young and old.

So I booked this for my daughters birthday months in advance. The day it came I was asking myself what had I gotten myself into. I was nervous to say the least. We had Jess as our instructor and she picked up on my nervousness from the start. She was amazing. I must admit the scaffolding at the start was the hardest bit as you aren't hooked on to anything there and also it is a lot of stairs. I was so encouraged by my family and our instructor and although I wanted to stop a few times I am so glad I did it. The views are amazing and it is a lot of fun. This review is for those that think they might not be able to do the climb, if you think you might want to definately give it a go. My highlight was seeing my daughters take on the challenge and love every second of it. If you can book the Twilight climb as you get to climb up in the day time and down at night and the sunset is amazing.

Fantastic trip on the Story Bridge this afternoon with my husband, brother & sister in-law. Our guide Mike explained in depth the history of the bridge and we thoroughly enjoyed his trivia style games. It rained on and off during our climb, however Mike made us feel safe and comfortable the entire trip. Mike we just love you and your energy. Thanks a million! x

Are you able to bring your own camera to take pictures? And what is the skill level for this climb?

You cannot bring a camera or any loose items with you I case they fall onto traffic crossing the bridge. Your guide will take group & individual photos at various viewing points and these can be purchased and emailed to you at the end of the climb. If you need to bring medication your guide will carry this fir you. No major skill level required as you will be wearing a safety harness and a clip wire. Basically you are walking on a metal stairs, so basic fitness level is all that is required. Our groups ages were from teenage to sixties. Enjoy, it's a great experience!!!

2 hrs longer with abseil. You cannot take yr camera so be prepared to spend on any pics taken on bridge.

Hi all, can anyone tell me what time the Twilight climb is? I've booked and received all the vouchers telling me to turn up 15 mins before and where, but it doesn't actually state a time... anywhere!! :/ Thanks!

I guess this is too late for you now, but it changes depending on the time the sun sets on that day. One way to check is to go on to the website and click on the Book a Climb tab. When you click on the day,and scroll down towards the bottom there is an option to Book a Time. As it is a Twilight Climb, there is only one option. That will be your time
