Discover the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park on a catamaran cruise to Green Island, a coral cay surrounded by spectacular reefs and marine life. Choose between snorkeling, a glass-bottom boat tour, or a trip beneath the surface in a semi-submersible. Or visit Green Island Resort to enjoy a spot on the sandy beach, with the option to add hotel transfers and a buffet lunch.
What to Expect

Enjoy convenient pickup from your hotel or travel to the Reef Fleet Terminal on your own. Then board a catamaran bound for Green Island and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Upon arrival at Green Island, you’ll have the day to explore and relax, choosing from a wide variety of activities offered by Green Island Resort. When booking, choose between a snorkeling trip to the coral reef, a glass-bottom boat tour, and a trip in a semi-submersible that gets you below the surface without getting wet. The resort’s facilities are available for your use, and you can rent beach loungers, canoes, sailboards, shade umbrellas, and more. If you’ve selected the lunch option when booking, return to the catamaran for a fresh buffet, or just purchase a meal on the island.

After roughly 4.5 hours of island time, the tour concludes with the return trip to Cairns or hotel transfer (if option selected).

Great Fun

This was a great way to visit the Great Barrier Reef if you have young children. The adults could snorkel and the kids could visit the reef through the glass bottom board. My grandkids were 3 and 4 and loved it.

Had a really great day on the Green Island, a relatively quick trip and you are good to go. Ideal if you don't want to be on a boat too long or go to the outer reef. Suitable for all ages, the buffet lunch was...More

We were offered option of hiring protective lycra suits by the trip boat for swimming and snorkelling. The tour guides knowledgeable and obviously different times of year carry different risks like jellyfish.

Hi some operators offer half day trips which leave around 9am, this maybe your best option as you have flights in the early evening.
