Overview
Fancy being captain for a day? Set sail from Cairns on-board your very own pontoon, on this private self-drive tour with space for up to 8 people. Spend a whole or half day cruising along the Trinity Inlet, try your hand at fishing or crabbing, or just sit back and enjoy the views from deck. Along the way, keep a look out for wildlife like pelicans, eagles and even crocodiles!
What to Expect
Make your own way to Marlin Marina in Cairns to collect your private pontoon, then set sail on your half or full day adventure. Cruise through the Trinity Inlet, an estuary fringed by forested mountains and just a short distance from the city. Glide through the glistening waters and mangrove forests, keeping an eye out for local wildlife like pelicans, egrets and eagles. You might even spot the odd crocodile lounging on the banks!

Your day is yours to spend as you wish, so perhaps enjoy fishing or crabbing along the inlet, stop for a barbecue lunch on the waterfront or cruise out to explore the mangrove swamps around Admiralty Island. Or you could simply relax on deck and soak up the scenery.

Please note: No boat license is required to drive the pontoons, but the driver must be over 18 years. Fuel is included and fishing tackle, bait, crab pots and BBQs can be hired on the day.

Up the Lazy River

The easy to steer cruising pontoon we hired was well suited for a leisurely half day expedition up Trinity Inlet. It had plenty of space and was very stable, making it easy to stand and walk around under cover when looking (unsucessfuly) for crocodiles. Plenty...More
