The zoo ticket is not expensive and there are less expensive, better ways to get there!!
Buyer beware with this company. The Zoo is fantastic and a must do, but find another way to get there. We were told what time to be downstairs at our hotel (and had booked this tour months before). We called the night before and were still told the same time. We were outside the hotel a few minutes prior, only to watch the bus drive away. My daughter tried, but the driver did not stop! We called the company right away, and they were not helpful at all . They expected us to get to another hotel and leave an hour later. I am a senior and it was very hot, we ended up calling an Uber-ironically it was faster and cheaper. Then to add insult to injury, they felt no need to offer us any discount or refund. The time they allowed at the zoo was far to short, and even more shocking, the shuttle back left a half hour earlier than originally stated, as they had a new booking that involved an airport drop off. Many people were very upset when they realised this as well. The zoo ticket is not expensive and there are other transportation options- no need to book this company!!

      Pretty good!
Convenient way to get to the Australia Zoo. The pick up was centrally located and super easy to get to. The pick up and drop off at the zoo was seamless as well.

      Company not to be trusted
I wouldn’t book this company at all. We were booked in a nearby by hotel 10mins walk to the pickup location. The schedule to depart was 6:50am but we were late by 5mins as we could not find the place immediately. I have a feeling that they didn’t arrive at the pick up location or didn’t wait for us a minute. They have our email as well as our contact number so at least they should have tried to contact us immediately since we were just around the corner. We tried to contact them to the telephone listed on the booking invoice. But there was no response saying line is disconnected. Their telephone listed on the booking was dead. I had to return back to our Hotel to look for another contact number, eventually found one but the lady on the phone was rude snd unprofessional sympathetic and said she couldn’t help us. No mention about refund Not a happy customer. Lost a lot of money and then we had to find another activity to fill the day.

      Basic Ride to the Zoo
This was basically just a bus ride and zoo admission and wouldn't really classify as a "tour". We received information that due to construction in Brisbane, sometimes the bus had to park in a different location but the driver would come to the designated pickup location for us. We saw a bus on the corner for over 30 minutes but no one approached anyone waiting outside the hotel until finally one of the other guests walked down to the bus to find out it was for us! Driver spoke very little English so no communication along the way, only held up four fingers telling us to be back at the drop-off point at 4:00. The zoo was amazing! Would have liked better communication from the driver and maybe a little bit of story-telling or interaction along the way.

      Amazing Zoo, Awful Drive
Can’t fault the zoo, that was incredible, but the “crocodile express” was abysmal. The seats were uncomfortable, the driver and his partner were rude and only spoke in their own language. They didn’t communicate to us at any point even when we were stuck in traffic for 30 minutes. Would NOT recommend.

      Poor
Went to the crocodile show saw one crocodile and the men who did the show were dress like they had just roll out of bed. The women were dressed nice. The staff at the entrance were very helpful but the workers inside did not smile couldn't say hello nothing. The tiger show we couldn't even fit in to watch. The tiger they had on show was very skinny and look really said. Nobody walked around with any animals to show us up close. I don't think I would go back. Very disappointing.

Zoo was great, bus was not
The zoo was fantastic - would recommend for everyone! The bus to the zoo, however, was horrible. We were traveling from Gold Coast to the Australia Zoo. Instead of having two separate busses going to GC and Brisbane, they combine them which added an extra 1.5 hours to our travel time. It took 3.5 hours there and back due to rush hour traffic. Also the driver was in such a rush that it almost felt unsafe and he waited maybe 60 seconds at some of the stops so if you're even a bit late you'd have missed your ride.

      Cancelled by the operator unexpectedly
Your was cancelled by the operator at the last moment without specifying any reason. I received the refund immediately but overall we are all disappointed.

Had a brilliant day at the zoo. Loved seeing all the beautiful animals. It was lovely to read all about the Irwin family too, having watched a lot of Steve's programmes. Well worth a visit!!

Not as good as expected experience
I arrived at the meeting point on time, but was told that I had to wait for other guests, and it took half an hour to set off from the city. This was a Japanese group, and all the guests were Asian. The driver stepped on the accelerator and rushed on the mountain road in the dark, which made me feel very unsafe. , glowing worms, if you have severe astigmatism and myopia, will look no different from Christmas light strings in the dark mountains The park does not limit the number of people, causing the entire hilltop and the market to be crowded with people. This is uncomfortable and affects the growth of fireflies. The number is less than one-third of the picture shown.

Great tour bus experience & great day at the Australia Zoo!!
Tour bus driver was great!! Very nice, organized & got us to & from Australia Zoo in a timely manner!! Bus was kept nice & clean as well & we were given clear directions for when we were both picked up & dropped off! The Australia Zoo was fantastic & I loved being able to see so many different animals up close I’ve never seen before!!! Definitely recommend!!

The zoo was great but I can’t believe the bus company is in business
Late picking us up, dumped us off the bus far away from our hotel after the tour was over. The bus was 45 minutes late picking us up in Brisbane. The driver claimed he was late due to traffic. I’m from Los Angeles; Brisbane traffic is like driving on a country road. The zoo itself was terrific, even though our time was shortchanged due to the driver’s lateness. On the way back, instead of returning to Brisbane by the same route he left, the driver found a spot in downtown Brisbane across the river from where he picked us up, surrounded by skyscrapers so we could not get our bearings by comparing the location of the sun to the time in our watch, stopped the bus, stood up, and ordered the Brisbane passengers to get off the bus. I suppose I should be thankful that he didn’t toss us into the river or leave us by the side of the road somewhere along the way. Fortunately one of our iPhones still had enough power left after an afternoon taking pictures at the zoo. So with some difficulty, we determined our location in Google Maps and concocted a route through the Botanical Gardens and across the Goodwill Bridge. We are well accustomed to finding our way in unfamiliar surroundings, but the couple who was with us was not, and was hysterical during the trek back to the other side of the river. They barely spoke English and the walk back was strenuous for them. Judging by the other negative reviews of the transport, this is just how JPT intends to operate. Nevertheless the zoo itself was worthwhile; the staff there was pleasant and helpful. My favorite part was the birds who would try to steal our lunches. They were delightful!

Great views. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and funny. My eyes couldn't really adjust in the dark of the glow worm cave though.

      Not worth it
A very long ride, over 3 hours each way without any toilet stop. The zoo itself was okay, just a typical zoo. Nothing worth spending an entire day for.

Glow worm cave tour - do not miss
The whole experience from pick up to drop was amazing. Our tour guide Mili was just so passionate about the glow worms and explained many things about their life cycle, was interactive and asked us several questions which the guests loved. We also had the chance to stop and look at the stars and she had her iPad to show us the various images you could see in the sky. Overall what a lovely trip, Millie made it even more fun and interesting and had patience with the kids asking her many questions throughout the walk.

Nice place, nice beach and stunning Lighthouse. The small cafe at the lighthouse prepares simple but delicious meals. We tried the egg and bacon roll which was well prepared and delicious. The service is equally great and friendly.
Just DON’T use the public toilets (located under the cafe) which are totally filthy, smell terrible, disgusting and an absolute disgrace for the site. I have NEVER EVER seen such a repulsive place anywhere in Australia ! This is simply outrageous !!! 🤮🤮

Picked up at Novotel and embarked on a day tour to Byron Bay. The driver should be on MasterMind or similar show as his knowledge on just about everything was extensive and all the information he had on the areas driving down to Byron was invaluable, definitely a one in a million tour guide. Stopped off at Lighthouse to get some great views and then dropped off at Central Byron to explore and the driver came back in the afternoon to collect us. What a great day and a highly recommended day to book in with this bus company.

we took the tour from the gold coast .there were only 4 people in the group us and 2 people from japan.neither spoke the others language but the driver conducted a description of what we were to see and the accompanying landscape.the only words were fully understood were byron bay.i really can not fault the driver as we had problems with accents our entire trip.as we have aged our ability to discern accents has decreased.our first stop was the lighthouse .it was a short walk from the parking area to the lighthouse.the driver took our picture and i took some of the views down to the rock.i decided to take the steps down to the rocks below and to a surfing beach which the driver said was there .since i had time i start the walk.what one should realize the a walk down means a walk up steps going down were a lot more difficult coming up.i stop to take pictures and slowly made my was down,so far so good .the tow japanese girls in our group briskly walked by down to the rocks below.i made it as far as i could and i realized i would not make kit down to the rock formation below.i did get a picture of the surfers and one of the girls on the rock formation.oh ot have young legs.i started back but it was a struggle and i was drained .i told the driver guide that there was no was the girls would be back in time.i barely finished my words when they hopped into the van barely winded .next stop the town.i consisted of 3 up streets and 3 cross streets with shop and restaurants lining both sides of the street .the walk start in a drizzle but it turned into a bright sunny day.we had 3 hours to eat and shop.when we were younger 3 hours would only allow us to cover one block but we had no difficulty covering the entire town.the entire had no traffic lights nor did i see crashed cars.hard to believe.we walked to the park and beach and enjoyed the view.my wallet was happy that we did not come to the town 30 years ago as they really had some wonderful shop.we only had lunch and a pastry .this little town was beautiful and worth the one hour ride from the gold coast

The driver was really informative and helpful with photos. We had lots of time at the lighthouse and the town. Though in total the trip could have been 1-2 h longer for those, who just visit Byron for a day trip. We had to drive back at 4 pm.

Pleasant day out , must see attraction enjoy the view , the pretty little beach town and of course the beach.
Take note that 3 to 4 hours of hanging around the little town center is way too much time unless plan to sunbath, swim or take a hike from the lighthouse all the way down to the beach town center. Overall, it was a fabulous experience with excellent informative guide and I enjoyed the smooth comfortable ride in a clean mini van.

Thanks for your review. It's a beautiful little township isn't it? The Lighthouse is a highlight of the tour and I've just been approached today by a train tour operator who runs a beautiful little solar powered red train from the lighthouse hill into town to add to the experience. Yes, the Byron Tour is a "chill out" day to shop, eat, drink, swim, surf or just laze about on their famous beach.

Great walk up to the lighthouse.
We went via the road on the way up and came down along the boardwalk.
Very windy up the top near the lighthouse but georgeous views.
Small cafe with hot drinks available.
Keep, your eyes peeled for dolphins frolicking in the bays. We saw a few pods bobbing through the waves. I found the walk down the boardwalk at times easier than the road but there are a not of stairs and hard on the knees.
    Well with the walk.
