        A truly unforgettable experience!
We had the most incredible day and one we’ll remember for the rest of our lives! We were fortunate that the Whales decided to stick around in the bay after the official end of the season, and it was the most magical experience seeing so many whales up close in the boat. All of the crew were absolutely amazing, so knowledgable, professional and passionate about what they do, all whilst being great fun at the same time! The day was ran smoothly, and we got to do so many cool activities (kayaking, snorkelling, tubing, climbing a sand dune, dip in the creek) and the food was also delicious! The best day trip going and you get to explore remote areas of K’gari away from the crowds!

        A trip not to miss
Picked this trip as it covered both whale watching and K'gari island rather than most, and the great reviews. Was mid Oct with only 1 week left of the whale watching season so was a bit worried that we may not see many but we saw lots throughout the day, including one close up encounter to finish the day. The crew were very friendly, professional and passionate about both whales and ensuring everyone on the trip had a great day, which we did. Couldn't fault anything and the buffet lunch was to a good standard and plentiful. The short kyaking session on the island through a mangrove was great and the fast boat tubing a bonus for those seeking thrills. Highly recommend the trip for the quality and service from a team who put the effort in.

        A great day
We were lucky with the weather. It was a perfect day. There were a lot of pods of whales, not so much action on the surface. However, due to our excellent guide on the boat we were able to get close to some families with the calves trying their breaching skills. I learned more about whales in a couple of hours than I had ever known, down to how repeat whale visitors to the Bay can be identified.

Very interesting and enjoyable whale watching tour
Really enjoyable tour. Staff were all very friendly and informative about the whales in the bay, they clearly had a lot of knowledge of and passion for these whales. Water provided throughout as well as some tea/coffee/snacks. In terms of seeing whales, the day started a little slowly for us but really picked up towards the end as an adult whale breached the water right in front of us.

        Nature in all its beauty
A great half day with friendly knowledgeable staff, and tasty freshly made toasted sandwiches. So many graceful whales and one who gave a closeup display of power.

        Just… fantastic!
What a truly great morning out! We were very lucky to see a lot of active whales breaching, fin slapping, tail slapping and generally having a great time in the bay. Lots of mums and calves at this time of the season. Also a great look at the pristine beaches on K’gari. The commentary provided was great and there were plenty of snacks provided throughout the morning if you could tear yourself away from the whales!

        An amazing birthday experience.
We had an amazing time on this tour, and we could not recommend this enough. The crew were excellent very knowledgeable, professional and very friendly. Overall the day was very well organised and not rushed. I could not think of a betterway to spend a 60th birthday - snorkelling, canoeing, relaxing on K'gari a beaches and most definitly the whales. Just incredible to see these majestic animals in their natural habitat. Thank you Tasman Venture.

Saw all the whales we hoped to, and then some.
Robyn was friendly and amazingly patient with all my dumb questions. My wife and I did the four hour adventure and it was truly amazing. Our super knowledgeable guide obviously whale loving quite was fabulous. She told us everything about humpbacks and where and when to look. Despite the high winds, we saw heaps and what a display they put on!! The entire crew did a great job and tried their very best to make it a memorable day. It sure was!! Don’t miss it.

The best of the best whale watching cruises
Travelling with the Tasman Venture crew to see the whales up close was as spectacular and rewarding as you could ever hope for. When you have read so many superlatives for different cruises why should you stop and book with these guys. Well, for a start it is the calm knowledgeable crew, who know their subject so deeply that they were able to answer all the questions thrown at them, spontaneously and in appropriate depth according to the questioner. From crew to skipper their enthusiasm and love for these gentle giants shone through. You really can expect to see the whales around the boat, clearly very relaxed even with calves only a week or so old. We took dozens of photos of the whales choosing to swim up to the boat. At one stage we all watched spellbound as a mother steered her calf around on her nose to bring it back to the boat, showing us her baby. We even saw one mother teaching her calf how to feed, coming to the surface with its mouth open, even though the krill won’t be available until they arrive in Antartica. It was an exceptionally rewarding day, the boat staying out 1/2 hour longer than planned as we encountered so many pods. My wife and I will be returning to this clean boat and helpful crew when we are back in Hervey Bay. In our view you really can’t beat this particular boat and crew for value for money. Enjoy your trip, we did enormously.

        A whale of a time.
Decided to do this on a whim. Turned out we’d ticked off a bucket list item we didn’t know was there. Truly awe inspiring. Vicki the hostess and whale fanatic was so helpful and clearly an expert. We gained huge knowledge and appreciation from this trip. We saw numerous whales very close including many double breaching. Large sea turtle and dolphins. Amazing team, boat, refreshments etc. Unfaultable incredible trip. Can’t wait to do it again with Tasman.

        Great experience
What a great way to spend an afternoon, the weather was perfect, staff welcoming and friendly. We headed out and a short time later afternoon tea was ready, it wasn’t long until we saw our first whales. Even though it was at a distance it was amazing. Commentary over the day was informative, the staff did their best to make sure the experience was full of whales and did their best to get us close. What an ending to our day with a female and calf right at the front of the boat, it was amazing. The boat had so much room that we never felt we were in anyone’s way there was ample room to freely move around. Will be back.

        Not what I was expecting
Staff were friendly and commentary good. The food offered was disappointing. I opted for GF when booking and when I went to get morning tea I was offered some home brand ginger nut biscuits and a couple of Smoosh balls...the only other food offered later was cubes of cheese, cut up salami and some olives on a plate. I kind of expected more, and thought there would also be drinks offered. The cruise advertises underwater viewing and hydrophone, but I did not see the underwater view and when I asked was told the boat has to be swamped with whales to see anything, so feel a bit misled. The hydrophone was played for around a minute. Of course the whales were enjoyable, but some passengers found it too difficult to move around the boat or even stand up...I would not take children or elderly/mobility impaired persons on this cruise...the boat rocked quite a bit and was very fast...it was my first whale cruise and overall I was not disappointed, but it was the whales that make the experience.

This tour exceeded expectations and we cannot recommend it more highly. The range of activities was excellent, it was great value and the perfect way to see some beautiful, quieter aspects of K’gari.
But most of all it was the attentiveness and professionalism shown by the tour group leaders was exceptional. They catered for our group of 10 perfectly (age range 23-68) and were particularly helpful towards one of us carrying an injury.
      Highly recommend!

We had a lovely day out on the water and enjoyed snorkelling with turtles, stingrays and many fish. It was also just nice to lay out on the pristine beach without having to do the big 4WD trip through the difficult terrain. I definitely think a boat trip is a great way to see the west coast of K'gari.

My main disappointment and surprise is that on a full day boat trip, in 28 degree heat, with saltwater actives and major exposure to the sun, that there was no free water provided. Be sure to bring your own LARGE bottle of water for the day as there are no refills or any drinks offered for free, except tea/coffee. You have to purchase a small water on board for $3. I read the "what to bring" information and it did not recommend bringing water, or mention that you would have to purchase it, so this felt sneaky and like a real money grabbing opportunity. I felt it was irresponsible to not provide any free water in such conditions, or to be transparent enough to say 'bring your own, or you can buy it from us'. Fair enough to charge for soda and alcohol, but water is not a luxury and is important for the safety of your passengers.

Also make sure you bring your own snacks for the morning because lunch was not served until 1pm and by then we were really hungry. Other hungry guests asked for some spare food, but the crew member seemed annoyed by the question, saying that they could only purchase chips, ice creams, or chocolate bars. We were all after something more substantial than that, however.

Overall it was still a great trip, and Carolina was the stand-out crew member to us.
I wish we had been advised to bring lots of water, or at the very least been told upfront that it is not provided for free. I know $3 is not a lot, but it's the principle!

Thank you Tracey for leaving this feedback. We certainly have water available from the kiosk free of charge in a cup, with an option to refill your water bottle throughout the tour as many times as you need. I'm sincerely sorry this was't explained to you on your tour. In response to your feedback I have already actioned a reminder to staff to offer this each and every trip. I am pleased to hear that you were still able to enjoy your time experiencing the remote Western beaches of K'gari.

Just the best day! Snorkeling, tubing, sand dune climbing, swimming, kayaking in both the sea and in a mangrove creek - and no sitting in a land vehicle for hours at a time. Instead the helpful, and enthusiastic TasmanVenture crew, took us out on a super catamaran, and then smallboated us onto the island on three separate occasions and locations. Excellent refreshments throughout the day, we thought this was one of the best value day trips we had ever been on. The price included collecting us from, and returning to, our apartment by shuttle bus. Thanks guys!

This tour exceeded all expectations. We arrived as a family of 9 (some Aussie, some international), including a senior, an infant, a toddler and two children (8 & 12), we also had varied dietary requirements and English literacy, but we all agreed this was the best and most memorable experience. The highlight was the breathtaking, up close and personal experience with the beautiful whales and their calves, with detailed commentary from the crew. We've been on whale tours in NZ and Patagonia, but this was exceptional. At times, the whales were just a few metres from the boat and wow, they really put on a show! We also enjoyed some kayaking with the kids (even bubs) and loved the tubing. The snorkelling was OK but there wasn't much to see, but playing on the white sand beaches and dunes was fab. Now to the crew- they were knowledgeable, hospitable, friendly and professional. The day ran perfectly, as it was well organised and coordinated, but we never felt rushed. The staff went out of their way to cater to all of our needs and helped everyone so we could simply enjoy and take it all in. They thought of every small detail to make the day extra special such as taking candid photos of our family and sending them to us, providing extra special treats for the vegetarians/vegans and kids, and helping when our toddler was feeling a bit seasick. Honestly, every single crew member was exceptional, brought value to the experience and clearly loved their work, which made this a stand-out tour for us. All of the food was awesome. Truly an unbeatable and memorable day for all ages and we cannot recommend it or thank Tasman Venture enough.

We are happy to read that the day exceeded all expectations and that all ages had a blast onboard. Recently went on a tour with my family, as my dad flew overseas from Italy I wanted to try and show him as much as possible of before he left . At first I was a bit hesitant because the tour is a full day and I have 2 small children (2 yr old and 4 month old.) I am so happy we decided to go. I cannot praise the crew enough . They were beyond exceptional, constantly checking up on me and Bub to see if we were ok and if I needed anything, even offering to look after him if I wanted to go for a swim.

The tour itself was fantastic and there was so much to do . My dad absolutely loved the snorkelling. My 2 yr old daughter loved the kayaking . If I i could rate a million stars I would . I have family flying in in March as well and I am most definitely going to take them as well. Hopefully we’ll be lucky enough to have the same incredible crew !

Thank you for us letting enjoy a memorable experience and exceeding all our expectations.

We just finished up a Sunday tour with Tasman Adventures and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience. The team of Lloyd, Angus, Carolina, and Taylor took great care of us and were tireless in their efforts to make sure everyone had a great time.

The kayaking, lazy river and snorkeling we're all a blast and we saw some great marine life including a sea turtle, some stingrays, a bunch of parrotfish and many other schools of fish. We were also super lucky to see a Wobbegong Shark which we were told is quite rare.

All in all, we would definitely recommend this tour and suggest you do the full day if you can.

Booked a day trip for Fraser Island - 2 adults - with Tasman Venture and the whole experience was absolutely amazing 😍 Company offers a courtesy pick up bus, which was very convenient for us since we were with a campervan. Crew were fantastic, super friendly and professional! We were briefed on the whole itenary and also with safety protocols 🛟 The guide, Mel (Melanie as her mum calls her) was the best! Funny, to start off with, but very professional indeed. We were asked whether we had any dietary needs and we were presented with a lovely dairy free platter and buffet lunch😁 We snorkeled with turtles and rays and also spotted a dingo on the island 😃 Can't recommend them enough! 10/10 exceptional service

Unfortunately this tour, for us, wasn’t all it was made out to be. They cancelled the next two days of tours after our booked date due to weather so we had a very crammed boat from those cancellations being moved to our date. It felt like just a very long time spent on a busy boat with not that much time to do the activities due to getting through the numbers and a lack of equipment and staff to cater for everyone to have enough time on the activities.

We travelled for a couple of hours before we made the first of two stops, the first activity here was to snorkel which was about 15 minutes then kayaked in the basically the same location which could be no more than 10 minutes of kayaking up a creek then back again…Then we got back on the boat where another couple of hours travelling took us to a large sand bar island, here we spent probably an hour where we could kayak then queue for a long time to have a go on the inflatable tube - a five minute ride which was probably the most exhilarating part of the day.

This could have been a great day but it basically was over commercialised with the company thinking more about how many people they could cram in and line their pockets with rather than the experience they were providing. It felt like a military operation to get everyone at the right activity at the right time when we were at location before we were quickly ushered to the next part. It may have worked if they had more equipment and staff to provide people with longer opportunity at the activities but this definitely isn’t the tour that we were expecting which is a shame.

On the plus side we saw plenty of dolphins and turtles!

      Fantastic 1 day adventure

Lloyd, Carolina and team were all very friendly knowledgeable and helpful.

Tour took you to quieter and unique areas of island which normally weren’t visited and accessible unless you had a boat or access to area via boat.

Snorkelling Kayaking and tubing all great. We even got a visit by a hammerhead shark checking us out for lunch lol.

Smaller group numbers meant more personalised tour and more chill out time for all. The team even took turns to look after a younger baby to give the mum dad and younger kids some family time throughout the day.

Excellent experience combined with lovely staff great snacks and lovely lunch during the day made it a great experience.

      Would highly recommend.

      Thanks Lloyd Carolina and team.

Melanie and the crew were amazing! Very chatty and full of lots of interesting info on the island and spots visited. Melanie took particular care with me as I'm a little nervous in the water so I really appreciated having her close by and checking in especially during the snorkelling activity. The island is absolutely stunning and the tour itself is worth it if you like being in a smaller group and not amongst other tourists. Would've liked a little more time at some of the beaches however understand that with the activities included (kayaking, snorkelling and tubing) that this isn't always possible. IT's just so beautiful to look at!!

The one disappointing thing for me was the food. Having advertised that they cater to dietary requirements and also having called to make sure this was the case - the vegan food on offer was a let down. This by no means is criticism of the staff as I'm sure they have perhaps not been trained in providing adequate vegan food. Whilst everyone else was provided with an ample morning tea of several varieties of cake and cookies, I was given 2 very small protein balls. Lunch was also not up to scratch with a plain (no dressing) potato salad (boiled potatoes) and a dry coleslaw with a few small falafel balls. It kind of felt like my meal was an afterthought especially when I could see the ample food provided to everyone else and them all saying how much they were enjoying their meals. With the number of vegans growing in the country and also other varied dietary requirements I would suggest management spend some time learning how to better cater for these guests and making sure there are enough snacks provided for them to buy should they wish to.

Overall though an amazing day so props to the crew!!
