We booked a private tour with Adelaide Private Tours to take us to Kangaroo Island for a 3 day gently paced tour of Kangaroo Island. It was fantastic and exactly what we asked for. Amanda was a fabulous driver and host who delivered a very comfortable, relaxed and comprehensive tour taking in a wide range of experiences including wineries, fine woolmakers, distillery, Raptor experience, scenery, honey farm, art galleries, wildlife and several hidden gems for local food and wine. Amanda collected me from Adelaide airport, on a layover , for an afternoon touring the Adelaide Hills . I was able to see the hills in their glorious autumn colours. I was very impressed with the organization of activities and time as we were able to tour the hills, Stirling and Hahndorf , visit a superb gallery I would never have found and grab a hot drink on a cold rainy afternoon. We finished with a visit to Penfolds where I was able hit a goal and try Grange for the first time . It was the best layover ever.

Back on board our floating home away from home - Sea Princess - after spending a lovely day in and around the sights of Adelaide and beyond. We had a great personalised tour with the knowledgeable Amanda from Adelaide Private Tours. We got to see the beautiful city of Adelaide filled with lush gardens, gorgeous old buildings alongside modern facilities all located within the city centre. Adelaide is such a well maintained and clean city that is very well designed. Then up into the hills to see many small towns and villages to sample delicious chocolate, cheese, pickles, jams, honey and even a whiskey tipple! A stop at a yummy bakery then up to the highest point to NOT see Adelaide due to extremely low cloud. A koala did make a sleepy appearance however so that was a special treat. Thank you Amanda for a full day tour we thoroughly enjoyed! With our interest in the arts we began our day in the Adelaide Hills stopping in Hahndorf Village and visiting home/studio of famous Australian 19th century artist Hans Hansen. Then to the Barossa Valley for a lovely lunch overlooking vineyards, wine tasting (Rockford Winery was a favorite!) and much more. We especially had a great time learning and appreciating the history of Adelaide from Amanda.
