- W6000IUmelissas0 contributionsBest Tours Around!! Highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed!!Tassie Tours!! You guys are the best! We booked last minute for Bruny Island and it did not disappoint !! We had the best day, seeing all the cool spots Bruny Island has to offer and with alot of laughs along the way. Thankyou Andrew, for being the best tour guide! Best sense of humour. Showing us all the cool spots and little hidden gems too! Thankyou to Patrick, for giving us a rundown of what the tour will involve, at the harbour tent and making purchasing the tickets, super easy. Will definitely be recommending you guys, to family and friends and whoever asks for recommendations, for a great tassie tour! Thanks a bunch! Matt & Mel 😎Written 19 March 2025
- T3400GRroberto0 contributionsLoved Tassie ToursWe booked Tassie Tours as a shore excursion off of our cruise. We elected the highlights tour. It was wonderful. Tassie Tours was very communicative both via text and email. We knew exactly were to meet our guide. The highlight of the tour was Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary and Mt Wellington. Our driver was informative along the way and did a great job. We would MOST definitely recommend Tassie Tours!Written 18 March 2025
- Traci G0 contributionsFun Filled AdventureOur tour was the perfect size, only 15 people. Our guide and driver, Mark was amazing. In addition to being knowledgeable on all things Tassie, Mark had a wonderful banter with our group and a great sense of humor. We went up Mount Wellington. It was so cold there was snow up there. We spent time in Richmond. Mark gave us a thorough history of Tasmania during our travels. I would highly recommend this tour.Written 17 March 2025

- jaymca0 contributionsThe best Hobart tour itinerary I could find under 9 hoursMany thanks to our local Hobart driver/guide Adam for quickly adjusting the tour itinerary according to the weather. As a result, we were able to enjoy 20-25 minutes of clear weather to take some amazing photos from atop chilly Mount Wellington (Kunanyi) before stormy rain clouds rolled in and made visibility extremely poor. Richmond was a relaxing colonial village to visit, with nice places to try Tasmanian seafood pies and coffee but with (as a warning to cruise ship passengers hoping to buy last-minute Australian souvenirs) no real stores for tourist gifts. A good place for lunch but not a must-visit town. Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary turned out to be a pleasant surprise; although you have to pay extra to get in, you do get a discount by being with Tassie Tours Tasmania. And the kangaroo interactions were fantastic, especially if you catch them before they've had their fill of tourist-fed food. The wombat and Tasmanian devil were very cute too! This was the best Hobart tour itinerary I could find under 9 hours. (Other tours I was interested in lasted 10 hours or longer, which our cruise ship could not accomodate.)Written 15 March 2025

We had the pleasure of experiencing Port Arthur through the expertise of our phenomenal tour guide, Peter From the moment we set foot on the grounds passion for history and storytelling shone brightly.
Peter’s guidance was not just informative but also deeply engaging, he effortlessly navigated us through the intricacies of the site, ensuring we understood its historical significance while also appreciating its natural beauty.
I highly recommend tassie tours to anyone visiting Tasmania and Port Arthur.

This was a great day out. Very informative driver. Great spots to stop along the way. You really need 3-4 hours to see everything and go on the River cruise at Port Arthur.
However! The ride back was not pleasant..
The driver was driving 10klm over the speed limit, swerving over the road and around the bends. He had the music turned up very load and fist pumping to the music. He seemed more concerned about himself having a good time than the safety of the bus load of passengers.
This was needless to say a very stressful drive back being thrown from side to side the entire way.

We visited Tassie on the Easter long weekend when prices for hire cars was outrageous. We decided to take this tour instead and it was really good value for money, with the added extra of someone else driving so that we were able to look out the window at the scenery. The driver's customer service was exceptional and the tour went off without a hitch. 10/10.

The tour itself was great, we were able to see so many beautiful places on our way to Port Arthur and learnt the stories behind them. Our tour guide Mark was on time, and I can tell he is a very passionate person.
However, I don't feel I was welcomed during this trip. From the beginning of the trip, our tour guide was friendly to everyone, knowing their names and having conversations. I was ignored from the beginning till the end of the trip. To be honest, I don't really care. What frustrated me is he never responded to my 'thank you', 'hi', 'bye', but having chat with my friend only. I just wonder if there's anything he doesn't like about me.
During the trip, as I mentioned earlier that he is a very passionate person who wants to know about the world and cultures. I wasn't following his conversations with other passengers the whole time but what he said about Chinese tourists caught my attention every time. Because I'm also Chinese.
I heard from him about how Chinese can't drive, and Chinese tourists are always late, and I think he probably thinks all Chinese are like that (at least from how I processed his words). Nowadays, discussing this with other people (white) at work/in public is inappropriate. Especially if there's an Eastern Asian-looking tourist on your tour who can clearly hear what you say and understands English.

Mark was a fantastic tour guide to Port Arthur. He was entertaining and extremely knowledgeable about the history of Port Arthur. He also had an amazing gift of narrating the historical events and engaging everyone on our tour bus in a way I have not seen from other tour guides. In addition to the historic site, the side trip to the Remarkable Cave really added something different and very interesting to tour.

We were picked up on time in Hobart and made our way down to Port Arthur with eight other travellers. The driver was very entertaining and provided various historical tidbits of information along the way which was very informative. The driver made an effort to know everyone's name and used that when asking questions so everyone was engaged. We had enough time to explore Port Arthur plus there is a cruise that takes you across to an adjoining island. Whilst it is a long day, it was an enjoyable and informative one and I would highly recommend it.

This is excellent value - not too big a group so the few stops made on the way there were efficiently managed, and Port Arthur was well worth the visit. Remarkable Cove lived up to it's name too. Excellent driver, felt safe all the time.

The shuttle service worked very well, and the timings were spot on. 4 stops en route to Hobart - bakery, lookout point, chocolate foundry and lavender farm - all good. Arrived in Hobart at 12, as advertised. Plenty of time - 4 hours - to see Port Arthur site, do harbour cruise, have lunch etc. 21 of us on full minibus that was not comfortable, and the window next to my seat did not close properly. The driver knew the roads well and drove very speedily! His taste in music was not ideal either!

Despite the sad original use of Port Arthur as a convict settlement, it is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places I have visited. I loved the day there - in fact, I could have spent a few more hours there, especially when you factor in a lunch break (which was tasty in the on-site cafe/ restaurant).
The waters are a beautiful blue, the trees are really relaxing to look at and there is a really serene and calm feeling there that I wasn’t expecting.
There is so much to explore at the historic site - as well as The Penitentiary, there’s the old cottages that have been restored to show what life was like for staff and locals, the asylum, the hospital, the churches… and a harbour tour gives you a great sense of the little islands off the port - one a graveyard for convicts and ‘free people’ and one the site of the boys prison.
This day trip also includes a lovely stop at a lavender farm, a great lookout opportunity over Pirates Bay and a chocolate shop stop. It was the most enjoyable day I had during my five days in Hobart and would highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience. Nigel was a great host for the trip, and gave just the right amount of interesting information about the area as we were driving through the relevant bits. He was also very prompt when it came to pickup/delivery. Cheers Nigel and the Tassie Tours team!
