The tour was a great education about the market, its history, and the chance to meet some wonderful stallholders.
Our guide Irene was very accommodating in answering our questions and we were impressed with her knowledge of the market.
We were probably expecting to try some of the more unusual stall holder foodie offerings as some were relatively common foods we already regularly use, but overall the tastings were very good and generous for a morning tour.
We visit this market every time we visit Melbourne from Adelaide, and again on this trip adding the tour was well worthwhile. The gift from the skin care business was an added bonus and again very generous.

Brilliant tour of QV market this morning! As a local who regularly shops at the market I figured I knew the place, but our tour-guide Carmel taught us so much more about the buildings, people and produce. The store owners were generous with their time and tips for cooking, and of course the tastings were divine. Highly recommend!

Excellent tastings and chatting to vendors. An informative and well guided tour, a variety of stalls and quality tastings. Plus vouchers, bag etc, all combined to make it time and money well spent.

My hubby and I were very excited about this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly which made the experience memorable. The information about the market and having the opportunity to chat to stall owners was cool. We would have loved to learn more about the fruit and veggie aspect, but did love the fact that the tour was tailored to suit the specific group audience - amazing! A disappointing aspect was the price. It is very steep for what you get. It is definitely a great experience and every Melbournian should do it, but the price is just too costly. Please consider lowering this price nd having children free. They should not have to pay. In doing this we do think you would be flat out each day the market is open which is how it should be!!

What a great 2 hours we spent exploring the Queen Vic Market with our experienced guide. She was so knowledgeable and explained the history of the market from it very beginnings and how it had changed over the decades. The tastings were very varied, with some very unusual offerings! It was a small group of 8 people which made it easy to ask questions and interact with the other participants.

Our guide Irene was lovely. We learned so much about the history of the Market, met many of the stall holders, who in turn told us their personal stories, which we all found to be passionate, interesting and entertaining. We received samples of goodies and lots of tastings of yummy foods.

What delightful, informative, delicious experience this was. We met characters from the market today , but learned much about its history and also its future. We attended as part of a meetup event and it was fabulous from meeting max the butcher committed to respecting the whole animal, to the enthusuastic fishmongers , to hot donuts, to cheese tastings and finishing with mulled wine and Coffee. What a fabulous day !!!
