About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- M6974TJalisond0 contributionsDark caves, many glow worms! About 59 mins in caves 😊Brilliant cave tour saw thousands of glow worms and learnt about them from the very knowledgeable guide, she was great! 😊Written 10 December 2024
- kashto0 contributionsLovely afternoon with Tania!Lovely afternoon spent with Tania (Driver) and the gang! We were picked up on time at the Observatory hotel, right from the off Tania made everyone feel welcome. She got everyone to introduced themselves and the conversation flowed from there. As we drove along Tania was very knowledgeable about the local area and kept everyone entertained. It was a comfortable journey and mini bus had air con. At the first winery, Waipara Springs, we enjoyed sampling several very nice wines (sauvignon blanc was definitely my favourite) with a brief explanation of each one and then had a lovely lunch. We purchased a couple of well priced bottles of Sauvignon blanc then we were on our way to George’s Road wines. There we sampled several of Kirk’s wines in some of the most beautiful surroundings. We all chatted happily and I would have sat there feeling very content all afternoon but we had yet another winery to get to. Finally we went to Torlesse winery, again I couldn’t fault the wines- everyone had their favourite and we also got to sample a port and blackcurrant liquor, which I can highly recommend and we also purchased! I would say the tour was well worth the money, we were lucky to have lovely company and a fabulous driver. All in all a fantastic day, I would highly recommend it.Written 10 December 2024
- FrankM49550 contributionsDon’t book tours through TripAdvisorThe tour was canceled in advance by the operator. I had booked through TripAdvisor and paid on its website . The only facility to cancel through the TripAdvisor website involved a 50% cancellation charge. I am relying on the tour operator to try and organise a total refund. DONT BOOK through TripAdvisor because it’s impossible to contact them and arrange a full refund if the tour doesn’t go ahead.Written 8 December 2024
- Vacation056754488110 contributionsGood, but not what we expected. We completely misunderstood what we booked (our mistake for focusing on the activity title and not reading the details closer). For anyone else thinking this is a full day of riding a train to and from Arthur's Pass while making a few fun stops, note that this is actually a 2 hour train ride one direction with a 4ish hour van ride the other. Lunch was included, there were plenty of Kea to see, there were some lovely stops along the way back in the van (including a steep hike to a waterfall), and our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a nice experience, but not at all what we were looking for.Written 7 December 2024
- Lynn A0 contributionsRelaxed way to enjoy an afternoon whether knowledgeable about wine or notVery well organised tour, lovely vineyards and hosts at each. Nice to start tour with lunch at our first stop and each vineyard was different in terms of location, style of presentation and atmosphere which I liked. Great variety of wines which were available to buy along with other souvenirs but no hard sell. Great afternoon, great guide and great company!Written 6 December 2024
- H5931RIscottl0 contributionsWonderful trip to AkaroaThe trip was great. We had a wonderful time on the way to Akaroa with a few brief stops, one overlooking Christchurch. We stopped in for lunch at the Billy Hayes restaurant before the harbor cruise. It was a good lunch with only a few choices for entree but drinks were not included. The boat trip into the harbor and on to the ocean was the a highlight. We saw Hector's dolphins several times and even some small blue penguins. The boat captain was very informative. We had a great tour guide in Stephanie. She had so much great information to share on the tour. This was a great trip and highly recommendedWritten 6 December 2024
- andrewhV986IP0 contributionsTrain into the hillsHeavy rain but apart from that very enjoyable trip.if it wasn't for the rain it would be a 5.great experience at the farm watching a working sheepdog and sheep shearingWritten 3 December 2024
- U4761FVsuec0 contributionsPerfect day outWas great for a day out got to see so much of Akaroa and surrounding area. Great spot for lunch - very tasty and the cruise added bonus seeing all the dolphins.Written 27 November 2024
- Jenean M0 contributionsWonderful tourGreat tour with numerous stops. Guide/ driver was extremely knowledgeable. Bus/van seats extremely uncomfortable and cramped. Loved the wildlife tour. Back in time for ship departure.Written 26 November 2024
- G P0 contributionsExcellent shore excursion with a fabulous guidePacked a lot into our day, and even though the weather was overcast we enjoyed a lot of sights. Scotty the guide was brilliant. So knowledgeable with lots of information about the city. The information about the earthquake and city centre rebuild and the red zone areas was particularly insightful. The antarctic centre after lunch was a highlight and it was great to have 2 hours there as less would have felt too rushed. You could always have more time at a lot of places but as a shore trip from a cruise time is limited and I feel we got a good taste of the city. We took in a vewpoint, a lovely garden area, drove through a lot of areas with good sightseeing from the bus, and had almost 2 hours of free time in the city for lunch and exploring. Tour was very punctual and we were back with plenty (but not too much) time to get back on the boat. It was an excellent way to spend our day. If you get a chance to take a tour with Scotty do it!Written 25 November 2024
- Climber6086700 contributionsExcellent full day tour to Arthur’s Pass!I can’t say enough positive things about our tour! Carmen our guide and driver was excellent! The views from the train ride were amazing! Our short hikes were exactly the right length and difficulty for the group. The stop at Castle Hill was extraordinary! The sheep farm was a delightful experience! I highly recommend this tour! Thank you Leisure Tours and Carmen for an excellent day!Written 23 November 2024
- AbbieG8900 contributionsLots of fun all aroundThe whole experience was so much fun. The scenery was so beautiful and the wines were really good, even wines I don’t typically like. It helped that we had a really fun group as well. Highly recommend if you like wine and good views!Written 19 November 2024
- FeenixWgton0 contributionsYou just have to do thisWow just wow. Stephanie our driver was wonderful and full of knowledge. Small group of 12 which was just right. The day was 830 to 530 but time just flew by. The lunch was lovely and the boat trip to see the dolphins, penguins and seals was magical. We had the best time. Everything was perfect. Even had a little nap on the way back as we were all so relaxedWritten 16 November 2024
- hayleywatson920 contributionsAmazing dayStephanie was a lovely host, we had such a great day. As the weather was a bit cloudy she decided we would do the tour in reverse order so thankful she did. So we started our day by going out to Akaroa via the cheese factory, she was knowledgeable providing commentary along the way. We then had an explore through Akaroa and had lunch. We elected to not included lunch and just got some fish and chips from the takeaway. Then we did the two hour nature cruise. Finally we got lovely views from the lookout back over Christchurch.Written 13 November 2024
- normanauten0 contributionsSolid option to see much NZ beauty in a single day.Tour was amazing! This was our first activity in NZ vacation, and it did not disappoint. If you're looking to see the majesty of NZ South Island landscape then this is a solid choice. I did drop one star because of the narrow seating in the mini-bus that was used to transport us home. If you're a small person then it's not likely to be a problem, but for larger folk you will quickly discover that the seat belt receptacles jam into your hip when sitting, and they can't be moved (at all). Kind of uncomfortable for a 3.5 hour ride.Written 13 November 2024

The tour was great.
