Visited Rotorua Village and the Geothermal valley on the same day I think it was part of the glow worm tour (which i don't recommend). The village tour was okay. They dance and sing and its very traditional. I liked the Geothermal Valley. Really cool.

I booked the Rotorua Living Maori Village Tour in advance of our New Zealand cruise for our stop in Tauranga. The content of the tour was good (which is why I gave this a three as opposed to a two rating) but the execution was lacking. Our bus driver was a bit abrupt at times

Sorry the trip did not warrant a better score for us. The tour you took with us is scheduled for 6 hours and we try and fit in as much as we can, such as the geothermal living Maori Village, the Redwood Forest, the Kiwifruit Orchard [not a fram] plus all the other sites if the city of Rotorua, which is a 75 minute drive from the port. Given the number of passengers on the cruise ships visiting on any day, then the most popular attractions are full but not much we can do about that, but we try hard to still give you our best personal service within the time we have available. But thank you for the feedback. We will try hard next years if we all get through the COVID-19 shutdown. Regards Ian

I didn’t get to go on this tour, I was directed to another bus and went on a different tour. I wasn’t asked for my ticket when i got on bus then was too late. I enjoyed the tour but wasn’t what I had paid for and lost $50

You have given a review about missing a tour, but we do not know your name or the date of the tour, so we can not check. Our meeting info is clearly given on the voucher you get. Our drivers check off all the names on a manifest we give them for all pre-booked clients, which we assume you were. If you can make direct contact with myself, the owner of Cruise Tours Tauranga [the supplier of the tour] then we will look into it. If the fault was of our doing then we will of course give you a 100% refund. TripAdvisor should really be the second place you give feedback once you have actually made direct contact with the tour company. Regards Ian Holroyd

We wanted to see Maori life in a real villiage. We were a bit rushed in the villiage and lunch is just a very quick snack - be prepared for quite a bit of driving since villiage a a distance from cruise dock. Our driver was very knowlwdgeable and gave us quite a bit of info on

Thanks for the review and yes the sights of Rotorua are about a 75 minute drive away [we can not do much about that] but we do take a different route each way so you see more of the landscape and also make a stop on each leg, one at a honey and bee shop and the other a kiwifruit orchard. So we do try and fit in as much as we can on this 6.5 hour tour. We do have longer tours but these are at a higher price, so we try and keep prices affordable for you. Lunch is really just a sample of the traditional Maori hangi, so not really designed to compete with the buffett you are used to on the ship. Pleased you found the guide interesting. Regards Ian
