What a fun, creative, inspiring experience for us and for our two grandkids, ages 11 and 15! We all also loved the separate Creative Workshop - Intro to Makeup where we made real looking wounds with blood(!?) on ourselves!

Touring weta workshop getting to see and hear all the behind the scenes stuff was so so cool. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I went alone and had a great time. One thing that I really loved was getting a peak into some of the peoples stories of how they got into their craft and wound up at weta workshop, made me recommend a very talented friend of mine to apply! There’s also a great gift shop! I love my weta workshop hat, people keep asking me if I work there when I wear it 😂 I would highly recommend this for any one who is an art nerd, movie buff, or LOTR fan! 💜

The Weta Workshop was excellent. Bianca, our guide, was terrific. It was awesome to see all the great work Weta has done for different movies, not just The Lord of the Rings. Very enjoyable day.

Sam, our tour guide was enthusiastic, knowledgable, kind, funny, patient and made our time at Weta so much fun. I loved his passion for everything Weta Workshop.

What an amazing experience to go through Weta Workshop. It was incredible to witness the work that is created by very talented individuals collaborating together. I didn't realise just how many projects Weta has been involved in. So inspiring. Definitely worth the money. It was more than I expected.

Great activity if you appreciate all the hard work that goes into producing costumes and props for movies. Definitely recommend for Tolkien fans. I had Tarsh as my tour leader and she was amazing! Such a wonderful perso !

This tour exceeded our expectations. The kids really enjoyed it and my husband was really soaking it all in. Our tour guide, Imogen, was so knowledgeable and we thought she really added to our excitement with her enthusiasm. Also, my daughter unexpectedly needed some assistance, and all the staff went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable during our tour.

The tour itself was very interesting and had very many props from famous films to keep you goggle eyed with wonderful commentary from the tour leader, James. The sculptor and fool model builder demonstrator were brilliant! Cannot thank Dan, James & Sam for getting our family of 4 split over 2 tours despite being so silly as to have arrived on the wrong day of our booking. You have made a few LOTR nerds very happy today

We loved the experience. Our guide was so enthusiastic, his passion brought the work of Weta to live. What an effort for so little screen time. These guys deserve to be seen.

Had a great tour guide ( I think her name was Ella) , that made the experience even better. It was great to learn more about weta workshop and how the Lord of the rings was created.

We had an exceptionally fun time going through the tour! We had the misfortune of going on a particularly rainy day which meant the videos were quite hard to hear but our tour guide (Angie) was brilliant at covering for them and was full of entertaining stories. Would have loved to see the artists/swordsmiths in action but they were away, somewhat understandably.

Best experience ever . A must if you are a LOTR fan or even if not a fan but a movie buff. The behind the scenes experience is next to none . The guide is fantastic

We really enjoyed our behind the scenes tour of the workshop and all the extra information provided by our guide, Sabren (Tom). It was delightful to hear of the origins of the workshop and to know that it is really a dream of two people who shared a love of creating things. I personally am not a movie buff at all, but still found plenty to interest me and keep me engaged. Do make sure you book ahead as guided tours book out and it would be a great disappointment to miss out on the fun experience.

We had Hazel as our guide and they brought the perfect energy to the tour, giving us lots of great facts and making sure everyone felt involved. Some of the rooms felt a bit squeezed in for how many of us were on the tour but still felt very special to be amongst the workshop and see so many things up close!

My wife and I aren't big scary movie nor Lord of the Rings fans and almost didn't go on this tour with two other friends. We are SO glad we did!!! Our tour guide was fun, extremely knowledgeable and encouraged us to ask questions and play when we could. The flow and timing of the tour is perfect. We really enjoyed the videos shown from the founders, Richard Taylor and Tania Rodger. We met several of the folks working and creating and you can tell they truly love what they do! After seeing how characters, props and sets are made, it actually had me more excited to watch LOR Avatar again!! Which I have done and this experience truly helped me enjoyed the movies more.
