About the operator

- Roving123869108420 contributionsExcellent day tripWould recommend this trip, it included a lot of stops so plenty to see along the way and a good way to travel if you're solo. The tour guide/driver was very good, he kept us updated on the weather conditions and timings of the stops throughout the day so we were well informed and he made sure we knew the best options for walks when we arrived at the Tasman Glacier.Written 2 February 2025
- jamesrT44VL0 contributionsEnjoyable day tripAnother nice day trip with TripAdvisor’s help. This one you’re picked up at the hotel and taken to the station. On the train there are food and drinks for purchase. You also get assigned seats which is nice unless you get a seat facing backwards like mine. I ended up in a viewing car for some of the 3 hour ride just for a better perspective. Once in Arthur’s Pass you get back on the bus to continue. The bus is fairly standard for these types of trips. There are no USB ports to charge so make sure you plan accordingly. On the bus we were taken to several stops for a few minutes to look around and take pictures. There were also a couple stops where we were able to go for a hike. The Devil’s Bunchbowl was a nice moderate hike and the waterfall is worth the trek. After that was a lunch break. Low expectations are required for lunch. The other hike is much less strenuous. Castle Hill is a unique formation of boulders and is a nice slow paced hike. There is a lot to see on this day trip and I enjoyed it but it is a long day. Make sure to bring and use sunscreen. I didn’t think it was necessary but I ended up getting a good amount of sun. Our driver/guide was great. Very informative and knowledgeable about the area and the stops.Written 1 February 2025
- 825debbiea0 contributionsMount Cooks and Lake TekapoThis was a long day but one that you shouldn't miss. AJ was our tour guide and he was excellent, very knowledgable, caring and attentive to our needs. He made the trip more enjoyable. The scenery on this trip was amazing and the lakes were icy blue. Mount Cook was majestic and the Heritage Hotel where we ate lunch provided a great backdrop of Mount Cook and the mountain side. The sight of the Tasman glacier was nice but a bit disappointing to not see closer. Overall a great trip to take from Christchurch.Written 27 January 2025

- Fearless637499963310 contributionsScenic highlights by train and roadA well organised tour with great communication beforehand. Our driver Anuj was very helpful and informative. The snacks supplied were a welcome surprise. The train journey is probably better in winter, the walks were great in summer. So pleased that I did this trip, well worth it.Written 22 January 2025
- 0jodic0 contributionsGreat tripThis is definitely worth paying to see. It is a long day but the views are spectacular. The van we had was a bit cramped but our guide was fantastic. He was informative and made sure everyone was taken care of.Written 19 January 2025
- AnudeSilva0 contributionsGreat train tour in New ZelandOne of the best tours we had. Best time to take the tour in late winter. Train stops middle of the way for the snow falls. Arthur's Pass tunnel is one of the remarkable area in the tour. Worth for the money and you won’t disappoint paying that price.Written 16 January 2025

- Frank T0 contributionsStunning sceneryThis was a long day but we were well taken care of by Anuj, our guide and driver. He was terrific. The mountains and lakes on this tour are magnificent. The walk to the glacier was beautiful. There were quite a few stairs, but we had plenty of time to complete it, taking it slow. Overall, a great way to experience the stunning countryside of New Zealand in a day trip.Written 10 January 2025
- 754claym0 contributionsJust a beautiful trip. Driver was fantastic and provided Whittaker chocolate. Phenomenal views and scenery.Even though Mt Scott was obscured by clouds, the trip was fantastic because of the Lakes and glaciers. The blue water was spectacular.Written 8 January 2025
