Thanks for such a detailed overview of your experience on the Taieri Gorge Train Journey. On very busy days, such as the day you travelled, there can occasionally be some confusion and miscommunication - particularly if bookings are made separate. With that said, it's really great to hear that the volunteers on the train went above and beyond to ensure that you were reunited with your cousins despite the confusion and that you ultimately enjoyed your day tour because of it. I'll be sure to pass on your kind words to Judy and the rest of the volunteers at Dunedin Railways. Thanks again for the great review and I hope you get to visit New Zealand again soon!

Thanks for the great review of your Taieri Gorge Train Journey from Dunedin. I'm happy you had such a nice time and enjoyed the train journey and commentary throughout. With regards to your comments, the day you travelled happened to be a particularly busy one and I'm sorry to hear there was some confusion at the station with the prepaid tickets and with the electrical problems on the train. Despite of this, I'm really pleased you had a awesome time regardless. Thanks again and we hope you get to visit New Zealand and Port Chalmers again soon!

Very enjoyable and scenic train ride. Our bus driver drove us all around Dunedin to some really interesting places on the city sightseeing tour. He even stopped at Baldwin Street so we could take pictures. Dunedin is such a beautiful city.

Thanks for the great review Karen. I'm really pleased to hear you enjoyed your Taieri Gorge Railway Tour and City Sightseeing shore excursion, which recently won the Travellers Choice Award for 2018 on TripAdvisor. Both the train journey and the city tour are really quite exceptional. The team on the train do an incredible job in informing the passengers on the history and landscape. And, as you said, the city tour gives you a great overview of Dunedin and its landmarks, which really adds to the tour! Thanks again for the 5 star review and we hope you visit New Zealand again in the future.
