Certainly a must do if visiting Greymouth. The steam train ride up a surviving bush tramway was awesome. The history of this area is interesting too say the least. Try the gold panning. For $7 it's really cool and you're guaranteed to find gold. The miners town is well laid

Worthwhile spending a good amount of time to go through it all. Wonderful to learn our own NZ history. Such hard times in those days. Enjoyed our time there. It is looking a little run down which is a shame - but very worthwhile going. I hope it survives through this COVID

Haven't been here for over 20 years however it's nice to see that it has been well maintained and is still a good day out. Informative and interesting and especially enjoyed panning for gold - didn't find our fortune but did have fun! Would recommend as an enjoyable activity
