The tour guide Greg is very knowledgeable although it did feel a little like he had been through it thousands of times before which of course he would have. Absolutely loved seeing the Lake from the boat and definitely got a good sense of how large it is. There isn’t much room at all to move around the boat and while the blurb says bring bathers, you would have to be a contortionist to get changed in the tiny toilet. I suggest wearing them underneath. The women in the row with us and behind all decided not to swim for that reason ( plus it was a little cool the day we went). Fossicking for Zebra Rock on Remote Island was a highlight. A tad longer there would have been good. Lunch was subway rolls and wraps ( lovely and cold and fresh) and afternoon tea Cream cheese dip and crackers so don’t expect fine dining. The cruise was a little too long for us given you are sitting most of the time. I would do the shorter one.

Thanks for your review and your wonderful photos. The lake is immense and to see it all takes a while. Zebra Rock is very popular and unique. The beautiful stone was formed long before animal life moved around earth. Seams of the rhythmically banded stone are now exposed, though most are lost under the waters of Lake Argyle.

We had a lovely afternoon cruising on Lake Argyle, enjoying the beautiful scenery and listening to the information provided by Greg our guide. We were well catered for with lunch, afternoon tea, tea, coffee cold drinks, cold water, beer, wine, champagne and nibbles also for our afternoon swim and to watch the sunset.
An amazing experience and would thoroughly recommend it.

We had the best day out on the lake, the bird life, sitings of a rock wallaby, crocodiles, stray cattle, huge spiders and their webs, fish and a turtle made it very special. Loved being able to forage for zebra rocks on a tiny island, but the best part was having a swim, drinks in hand in the lake at sunset. Truly amazing! Greg was very knowledgeable and also served us delicious food throughout the trip, including lunch, fresh fruit, dips, drinks and plenty of it. The scenery is unbelievably beautiful out there, the water seems to go on forever, a magical place which we will never forget. Thanks Greg, you’re running a very professional operation here and we highly recommend your company for a fabulous day on Lake Argyle.

One of the best day tours i have ever been on and i am a travel agent and have travelled extensively. The knowledge of Greg was amazing, the quality of the boat was fantastic and talk about spoilt rotten and value for money - swims , huge lunch, soft drinks, water, fruit/biscuits/more fruit/champagne beer and champagne and beer and dips ! All whilst cruising the massive expanse of Lake Argyle topped off with a magic sunset. This is a must do experience and you must do it with Lake Argyle cruises - thanks donna jones travel managers

Greg was the skipper and he taught us all about Lake Argyle. It’s construction, the history of the area, the wildlife and we toured on the lake for 6 hours. We swam, ate, had drinks and went for a fossick for zebra rocks. An amazing tour that ended with drinks and nibbles in the water as the sun set. What an amazing experience! Outstanding value for money ($170 ea). Could not fault this trip.

Lake Argyle Island Explorer Lunch Cruise. An absolutely informative and delightful day. We flew over the Lake the previous day and the "on-water" experience provided a better appreciation of the scale of the Lake. The commentary was excellent and added to the experience. Congratulations to Maryanne for the excellent lunch service and to Johnno for his engaging and entertaining commentary. Highly recommended.

What an amazing day! Greg has 30 years of knowledge about the Lake, and was informative and friendly! The lunch and hot and cold drinks and afternoon fruit were plentiful as was the champers and beer and dips following our swim in the Lake.. What a massive body of water, only understood by travelling from the north to the south. We had a fabulous day and highly recommend this tour.

I would have given this a better rating as the Lunch was delicious, the staff were lovely and very knowledgeable. It was school holiday so I understand children will be on the cruise but to ask members to let the families off the bus first so the can all sit together is just ridiculous. First off no one listened apart from us stupid ones who are polite and waited, then to get off last to be left sitting next to those families with unruly and noisy children is just frustrating. I paid the same or more for this journey and it just made the whole experience terrible. A toddler should not get a seat to themselves, and families should not be able to spread themselves out so you can't even move around to look at the view.

The tour was well paced and well spaced - a good combination of stops to convey information (extremely knowledgeable and informed guide) and time to take in the surrounds.

Plenty of room on the boat - you won't be any further than one seat away from the walkway around the edge of the boat and can stand up and move at any time.

Well catered for food and drinks.

Greg - the owner/manager and guide is genuinely wanting to provide participants with a memorable experience.

What an amazing day out - Greg our skipper was amazing and full of knowledge. From the moment we were picked up in the bus we were welcomed. We saw Rock Wallabies, Crocodiles, fish and lots of birdlife and cattle. They provided lots of food and drinks throughout the tour. We thoroughly enjoyed looking for zebra rocks and the swim with beer/wine/bubbles, crackers and dip while watching the sunset was an experience not to be missed a definite highlight. If you go to Lake Argyle this tour is a MUST.

Hello! Thank you for your wonderful review, we loved having you out on the boat and introducing you to the countless different species that inhabit Australia's largest man made fresh water lake. We hope you can come back next season and bring some more mates to revel in the magic of the area. The beers are always on ice out here! Warm regards from all of us at Lake Argyle Cruises.
