Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is an interesting and convenient was of transversing the many hills in Cuenca. Know, however, that as the streets are made of stones (e.g. not asphalt) that it is a bone jarring ride with plenty of noise.

Cuenca is a pretty but very hilly small town with a few interesting sites. The train runs from the top to the bottom and back again. There is good parking at both ends. For us, the best way to use the train was to avoid the uphill walks, but we couldn't do this because, on the uphill run, the train does not run according to the timetable advertised and handed to customers. You need to look at the times on the actual stops. But beware- we watched the train go straight through without stopping when we wanted to catch it!

Dunno. Done a number of city tours like these and found Cuenca really unappealing. Just don't feel like the city warranted the stops. If you do want to see the moderately interesting hanging houses, you can. But there's no reason to invest in a train your of a mostly forgettable place.

Really good way to see Cuenca. The tour allowed plenty of time to stop to take photos, which was good. The English commentary was very informative and wasn't a simple translation. Excellent little train ride.

We hadn't realised there was a little tourist train until we had already walked up to the Cathedral. So we caught it there to get to the Castle but it actually went down to the town (where we were parked) looked at the sights there (great views on the way), stopped in a coach park and gave you 10 mins to take photos of the hanging houses then took you back up, via the Cathedral Square up to the top (with a 10 min break there too). It was worth it if you don't fancy the walk! The driver was really helpful and explained (in broken Spanish) that although the audio guide said that English was one number it was actually a different number.

Great way to get yourself familiar with Cuenca before you start exploring on your own. The pricing is good and the audio guide provides good information about the amazing city of Cuenca.

The tourist train would leave once an hour, according to the timetable every full hour from the main square. We waited at 2pm for half an hour and again at 3pm for a quarter of an hour and no train came. So we took our own walk in Cuenca and happened to pass the square at 4pm - then the train was there! We jumped on the train which was supposed to be "hop on hop off". The headphones could be set to English, but hearing what was being said when the train was on cobblestones (which was 50% of the ride) was completely impossible due to all the rattling. When we wanted to get off, the signal button didn't work, so we have to follow along all the way around the tour...
Room for improvement!
