We had an amazing tour with Beker, Mario and Abel to Rainbow Mountain. The weather was not too good but Beker knew when to start hiking in order to get the best possible view at the summit. You will notice that the tour with Flashpacker Connect is more expensive than other tours - in return you get a really small group (in our case just the three of us), the best communication with the company before the trip, a friendly, funny and professional guide, a great driver, a very safe experience (no rush to get to the top and the guide is carrying oxygen just in case), a delicious lunch consisting of many different dishes that you get to choose from and most importantly, amazing memoires of this beautiful place on earth. We want to thank the whole team for making our day so special, especially Beker and wish them all the best. Would totally recommend and if I ever come back to Cusco, I will do more tours with them.

First off I have I have to say our tour guide Joaquin really made this trip. He is not only super personable, but very knowledgeable when it comes to the trip and surrounding areas. Yes this trip is on the higher side, but if you take any of the $30 treks around Cusco you will quickly understand why.

If you're like me and you're going to take photos the excursion get you to rainbow mountain first. Which is absolutely necessary once you see the horde of people coming in after you've already finished taking photos and doing it at your own pace!

Joaquin was super patient with me as I was taking an absurd amount of photos and let us go at our own pace! the food was great both before and after the bus was very nice and they provided blankets, so getting to wake up at the beginning of the trek was super great.

Finally don't forget to enjoy the actual journey, the drive in through the valley is gorgeous. but the actual walk up to rainbow mountain is just insane. which I find it crazy no one talks about. Yes Rainbow mountain is spectacular but don't forget to marvel at the glacier on the left or the alpacas running through the fields. It's actually jaw dropping!

To wrap it up make sure to request Joaquin!

I was debating between this Palccoyo trip and seeing Vinicunca (the "original" / "real" Rainbow Mountain), but reading that Palccoyo (1) requires a later (but still early!) start to the morning; (2) is less crowded; and (3) has a shorter hike made the decision easy. We had a great trip with our guide Delia and our driver Edwin and a veritable feast prepared by Chef Mario. I'm a vegetarian and he even prepared a soy "lomo saltado" - so tasty!

Delia was a wonderful guide - fun, knowledgeable (and patient as I made my way along the trail - this was my second day in Cusco and I had more trouble than expected with the altitude). I didn't need it, but it was very reassuring that Flashpacker Connect tour guides carry oxygen. The mountains are gorgeous. We went in November at the beginning of the rainy season, so it was beautiful to see the new green grass against the red soil of the surrounding hills (plus, of course, the amazing rainbow streaks of the three mountains).

Some notes:
- While it is probably about 30 minutes to the first viewpoint, there are several more viewpoints along the gently sloping, well-maintained trail, so overall the walk is longer.
- The views from the Rock Forest are amazing, plus the rocks themselves are neat, so I highly recommend continuing on with this optional addition (if you're feeling up to it). There's a different route back to the starting point, which turns the trail into a loop.

I recommended this tour to several people I met while in Peru and I enthusiastically do so again here on Tripadvisor.

We had the BEST time visiting this unique and gorgeous corner of Peru with our guide Joaquin. Out hotel pick up was right on time and we never felt any stress. I struggled a bit with the very high altitude and Joaquin was carrying oxygen which I used for a few minutes and then felt great again. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our driver Mario did an excellent job and Chef Mario prepared us a wonderful and tasty meal. This was money well spent on an amazing adventure that was very well orchestrated by Flashpacker connect.

This tour was AMAZING! I cannot stress enough how incredible and knowledgeable the tour guides from Flash Packer connect we’re. We were fortunate to get Abel as our guide for the day, and he was beyond kinda and patient with us. From the 3am pick all the way to the top of the mountain and back the trip was planned perfectly. He took drone footage of us, made extra stops at bakeries and Incan ruins on the way back. If you’re making a trip to Cusco please consider Flashpacker and specially Abel, as the money was beyond well spent.

Used flash packers for sacred valley day tour and rainbow mountain day tour. Both times I had a great experience. Guides were knowledgeable and extremely generous and accommodating. For sacred valley, our bus got in late and they came to the bus station to pick us up. For rainbow mountain it was a very early start, but we had a great van with snacks, pillows and blankets for the early ride. We were the first ones there and got amazing photos. We had the mountain to ourselves for about an hour before the herds arrived. Again the guides were very knowledgeable and extremely nice. They provided a nice lunch afterward.

This day trip was amazing! We had Jacob as our guide and we had a great time with him! He is very kind and attentive, always checking how we were feeling with the altitude. He is very knowledgeable and happy to answer all our questions. Our driver was Mario and he was great, it is not easy driving those small mountain roads. We even had a chef who cooked breakfast and lunch. The walk, landscape and mountains are beautiful, the long drive was worth it!!!

I feel really lucky to have gone on this day trip. It was everything I could have asked for.
Albert was our tour guide and you should ask for him. He was so knowledgeable about the area, answering all the questions we had. He was patient with those in our group who had problems adjusting to the high altitude hike, taking frequent breaks for pictures so it seemed like it was all part of the plan.
We also got there before anyone else and had the entire mountain to ourselves till the hike down.
He carried oxygen, however no one needed it.
Our driver David handled tight roads without breaking a sweat and as someone who can get car sick easily I was so thankful to be in the hands of a professional.
They also serve you so much food; breakfast, snacks, and a giant lunch. I was so full.

Afterwards, Albert taught us a Peruvian game called Frog.

This was my favorite day in Cusco. I smile when I think about it.

Organization of the trip was good: quick answer on the emails, good English. The team of a guide, driver and cook arrived early on time. It was a safe drive, tasty food, good conversations. Guide Joaquin spoke excellent English. Mountains are beautiful, very few people around. Definitely worth visiting.

Had a wonderful experience going to Palccoyo from Cusco using Flashpacker Connect. Joaquin our guide was great as was Mario our driver and Mario the chef. They were professional and really gave us an authentic experience - we on time to pick us up, discussed the culture, and Mario cooked authentic homestyle food for breakfast and lunch. My 11 year old daughter had a bit of altitude sickness when hiking Rainbow mountain and Joaquin was great and very patient with us. We had a great time and I highly recommend this group if you are planning a trip to Palccoyo.
