Inca Quarry Trail
Jun 2019 • Family
Lorenzo the guide was great and very knowledgeable about pre Inca and Inca customs and structures. The food was great and Jorge the cook did a very good job, we couldn’t eat it all! Our tents and kitchen were set up by the time we got there. The night spent in aguas calientes was amazing to finally shower! They are right, the second day is the hardest at about a 8-9 hour hike.

Some cons, the tents and sleeping bags weren’t very warm, in fact the netting at the ceiling and the thin cover was not in any way enough for the coldest elements I’ve ever had to sleep through. We passed another group who’s tents looked much more equipped for the cold weather and a lot more sturdy. But the trip was very hard and my mother, who is generally fit but who has asthma, needed to hire a horse for the second day because she wasn’t aware of how hard the hike would be. Hiking poles are a must, even for me, I’m generally fit at 28yo.
The trip was an experience, it was very hard and tiring but the views were incredible!
