Day 1: Prague - České Budějovice - Cesky Krumlov - Hluboká nad Vltavou (L)
Begin your 2-day tour with a pickup from your central Prague hotel or a central meeting point. Then, savor the views as you drive through picturesque South Bohemia to the city of České Budějovice.
See the Gothic-Renaissance Black Tower that dominates the main square, before continuing southward to picturesque Cesky Krumlov, situated on the Vltava River.
As you travel, hear about Cesky’s history and its star attraction: the 13th-century castle. Learn how the castle is believed have been built by the local rulers as a mirror-image of Prague Castle, all in a bid to raise their status at the Czech Royal Court.
On arrival, take a walking tour of the complex to see the restored buildings, courtyards, garden and moat. Then, descend into the UNESCO -listed Old Town to admire the cobbled lanes and pristine medieval square with your guide.
Drink in the postcard-pretty buildings, and then break for a well-earned lunch of Czech dishes at a local restaurant.
Afterward, travel to the nearby town of Hluboká nad Vltavou. Here, check in to your 4-star hotel, housed in an annexe of Hluboká Chateau and within view of this decorative, crenelated residence.

After breakfast, enjoy ample time today to do as you please, perhaps getting tips on sightseeing and activities from your expert guide.
Top of the list has to be the neo-Gothic Hluboká Chateau, considered one of country’s most splendid castles. Head inside (own expense) to explore some of the lavish rooms and towers, stroll around the park-like gardens, and learn how the building was redesigned in the 1800s by the Schwarzenberg family to mimic Windsor Castle.
Afterward, maybe follow the local walking trails to the hunting and fishing museum at the Ohrada Hunting Lodge (own expense) or enjoy some golf (own expense) at the 18-hole Hluboká course.
Later, return to Prague by coach, where your experience concludes in the early evening.
