About
We will begin our tour at the European Solidarity Centre, which is one of the most modern museums in Poland. There, you’ll have the opportunity to learn all there is to know about Gdansk’s recent history. Next, we will visit the Lenin gates which were famously climbed by Lech Walesa – the Nobel-prize winner and icon of the Solidarity movement. We will also make a stop at the Monument of the Fallen Shipyard Workers. Finally, we’ll explore less-visited areas of the shipyards, such as the docks and old warehouses, which are currently being repurposed and turned into modern clubs and galleries.

i wanted to cycle around the city for a day with my partner. tourist information sent us to 'poland by locals' and we were taken by surprise. we asked all sorts of questions. they had bounty of replies. we studied places where to go on a paper map with their help. we got ideas where to find lea markets, and so much on. laughter run the show. we felt taken care of and loved with 'poland by locals'

Fabulous museum
Jul 2018
This museum was incredible in its layout and information handling. The mixture of written, recorded and interactive exhibits was just right and gave a superb insight into an important historical period in Gdansk, and Poland in general. Very impressed with both the building and the handling of the historical data.

Sebastian was a very skilled guide. He met us at our hotel and told us about Gdansk at our way to the senter. The ECS was excellent.
