Our trip was spoilt by the crowds. Throughout our visit we rushed - we didn’t have time to read all the information. On the plus side, our guide was excellent and gave lots of information in an emotional way that fitted the surroundings and of course the truly awful events that took place 75-80 years ago. I will never forget the visit nor the way humans can treat others

Our tour guide Jacek (Jack) was friendly, thorough and knowledgable. Throughout our visit to both Auschwitz camps, we learnt a lot from him as he was easy to understand and he really told the story well. I didn’t feel rushed throughout the tour and Jack made sure to try and keep a slight distance from our group and the groups in front. The film on the journey there was insightful and showed real pictures of people at Auschwitz. Overall I think the day ran smoothly and I got to see everything that I would’ve wanted to and more. I’d really recommend going to Auschwitz with a tour guide (if it is your first time) and would really recommend this particular tour.

What an amazing and emotional day at Auschwitz. I would highly recommend this to everyone. I done a day trip there with my partner today and enjoyed my self. It really is a true eye opening and really give you a feel for what it was like and what they experienced.

The tour was very well organized. Pick up was easy to find and they gave us a couple options of where to get dropped off in Krakow which was nice! The organizer was very knowledgable and made sure that you had answers to all your questions or concerns. The guide at Auschwitz was incredible. He delivered the tour in a very appropriate way, giving the topic. He was very knowledgable and answered any question anyone had.

The tour was well organised, are very sensitively conducted. I can't say I was looking forward to the visit, but I'm glad I did it. It was very moving, and our tour guide was very informative. There were hundreds of people there and at times it felt a little rushed but we had time to see the whole site. The only 'fly in the ointment' were some of our group who were rather insensitive when taking their incessant photographs even in areas where there were signs asking people not to. Please be sensitive when visiting, this is a place where thousands of people were murdered, it shouldn't be a 'photo opportunity'.

I'm sorry to leave a bad review but it's important to inform other travellers of certain experiences. in short, our flights from Scotland to Poland were cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, this was done 15 hours before our flight was to take off. we contacted our hotel / car parking and any trpis we had arranged, and everyone but Viator helped us, we did NOT request a full refund, we asked to amend the dates as we still very much wish to visit, however they refused this explaining it was less than 24 hour notice, but we could not give more notice as we did not know our flights would be cancelled. we enquired to come on a new date and still they refused and they have taken £103 for this for 3 adults. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS IF YOU WISH TO BOOK WITH THEM.

Booked Comfort trip through our hotel. Our driver MATT was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. At Auschwitz you got headphones, at times massive interference. Everybody should do this trip even though it's harrowing. Wouldn't recommend doing salt mines same day - too much. Our Salt Mine driver PATRYK was also excellent and went out of his way to drop us at Schindler' factory. Would recommend you do the factory before Auschwitz

Everything was organized so well, the bus collected us on time, our guide on the bus spoke about what to expect and we watched a documentary.
We then met our tour guide on arrival to Auschitz who talked us through the tour with such compassion about the atrocities of what happened, I walked away numb and speechless but something I feel everyone should see.
On our return to krakow the weather turned very bad and our guide on the bus arranged for the driver to drop us off at our hotels or as close as they could which we felt was a lovely gesture at the end of a hard day. Would definitely recommend this tour company.

No visit to Krakow would be complete without visiting Auschwitz Birkenau.

We booked our tour through Cracow Tours and arranged to be picked up at the Main Meeting Point near the Sheraton Hotel. The coach was on time, and our host Daniel made sure that everything was organised for the trip.

The DVD shown on the journey to the Death Camp was very informative indeed, and gave some fascinating information from the perspective of a Soviet Army Photographer who was part of the liberating force. It certainly highlighted to us the evil that went on during the holocaust, and the scale of misery it caused to millions.

When we arrived, Daniel told us of the security arrangements and rules for photography in Auschwitz. We were not allowed to take in any bag bigger than an A4 sheet, and understandably 'Selfies' were considered disrespectful to the memories of the prisoners. He then arranged for our tour guide Agata to meet us. We were given headphones so we could hear her talking, and this proved invaluable as we were in a large group.

Agata gave a fact-filled tour of the camp, and also of Auschwitz II Birkenau, allowing us to see the various exhibits and main parts of the camps showing us the conditions that the prisoners had to endure.

If we were to be critical, we felt that there wasn't enough time to take in each exhibit that we were shown - some we were literally walking past so quickly so the next group could come through. There are too many guided tours taking place at one time, and this certainly took the emotional edge of our experience as we didn't have time to read all the information boards or study the photographs. Agata did give us the highlights and did an excellent job in this respect, however, we do feel that each group should be given more time to take in the exhibits themselves and to explore the rooms.

It would also have been very handy to have the headphones when visiting Birkenau.

To sum up - a very well presented tour, with lots of information and expertly answered questions - but maybe more time allowed?

Further info - there are a couple of places just outside the entrance where you can buy refreshments and the toilets cost ZL2.

I was nervous about booking this tour overseas and I speak no Polish. Cracow Tours was very easy to work with, sent me confirmation emails and reminders, had English speaking employees when I called them with questions. The day of the tour, we were picked up by the bus at our hotel & watched a movie on the way. The movie showed actual photos and was the most graphic part of the tour. Konrad, our tour guide was excellent, knowledgeable, sensitive & tactful when speaking about the history at Auschwitz and Birkenau. Had a few quick breaks, none long enough to stand in line and buy lunch, although we did grab extra water there. I recommend taking snacks. We stopped at Auschwitz first, spent the bulk of the time there; then back on the bus for a quick, maybe 6 minute drive to Birkenau. There is no shade at Birkenau and you only go in 1-2 buildings, so if you are going in summer time, may want to wear sunscreen, or carry an umbrella for shade. Have to pay 2 zlotys to use the toilets, so pack some change too.
I was nervous about going to see this, but it was so well done; a must to visit. Excellent book store at both sites.
