Absolutely amazing place well worth a visit!
Sep 2020
What an absolutely amazing place, well worth a visit. Isabella our tour guide was brilliant, extremely informative and quite the comedienne too, we all laughed. I have to say I was very impressed at the levels of sanitation incorporated throughout; from the taking of our temperatures at entry to the sanitising gel at every level. Also the toilets have to be the cleanest ever seen: completely spotless so well done to the cleaning staff.
The steps down weren't as bad as I thought and I was glad of the lift to the top even if it was quite a cramped space. Still we all had our masks on so all good!

Dear Gary, I have checked your case. Unfortunately you were waiting in wrong place. The correct meeting point for your trip was at Pawia 4-6 street in Kraków (Between Pawia 4 and Pawia 6). Since we did not receive direct phone number to you (reservation made by Hotel Station) we could not contact you directly, therefore we contacted the reception desk immediately after the driver informed us that he cannot find you. Unfortunately the hotel's reception desk could not help us thus we were forced to let the driver go due to danger of delay. My recommendation is to check the meeting place by the exact adress since some navigations like google maps can be wrong, unfortunately we have no influence on these applications. In case of any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@discovercracow.com Cheers,

Good trip until the cage which is called a “lift”
Great trip & tour guide until the end when you were crammed into a small cage lift with 5 people total, total nightmare.

Hi there, We are sorry if this part of the tour was not comfortable for your. That lift is original part of the salt mine exhibition which was oryginally used during its work time. Also it is the only fast way to get back on surface. Cheers! :)

Amazing trip
Sep 2020 • Family
Highlight of our visit! A fascinating trip & our tour guide Isabella was funny and knowledgable. A well organised visit, clean and prompt transport and perfect group size (10-12). It does get a bit colder the lower down you go so may be worth taking a jacket but personally I was fine without one. Cannot recommend visiting the salt mines highly enough.

Must see!
Highly recommended! Me and my partner booked through Get My Guide- slightly expensive but worth it. Picked up promptly, friendly driver.
Once in a lifetime to see inside a salt mine over 700 years old.
Tour guide was knowledgeable and approachable.

Poor Guide
Aug 2020
visited here after lots of recommendations. There's nothing not to like about it as its truly amazing. Sadly they didn't give out headphones like we had the previous day at Auschwitz. Therefore we couldn't year what the guid was saying. She rushed us through the mines, very little info given from what we could hear. Never waited for the group to catch up, then didn't even show us to the exited.

Poor customer service for a remarkable place

Great half a day trip!
Aug 2020 • Couples
A fantastic well organised trip. We were picked up promptly in Krakow centre at Straszewskiego 14 at around 8:35 (the exact time we were told we were being picked up). It took around 25 minutes to arrive at the salt mines, where our driver walked us a couple of minute to the entrance. He got the tickets for us and explained where to be at what time. The tour itself was also fantastic! The 400 steps to start weren’t bad at all and the overall walking wasn’t half as bad as I thought it would be! Although it says to wear a jacket when you enter the mines I just had a dress on and the temperature was perfectly fine, not too warm and not too cold. Our tour guide was fantastic and very informative. The tour took a total of 90mins where you then had the choice to do a little museum tour or get the lift to the exit, we got the lift to the exit as we weren’t sure if the bus driver was expecting us back. Overall a fantastic morning and I am so glad we visited 😁

Poorly organised.
We visited once the COVID pandemic had begun relaxing & the Salt Mines were not prepared. Hundreds of tourists where left queuing for hours with little direction or organisation. The staff themselves were discussing how much of a shambles the whole day was. Tours were running 40 minutes late & the swealtering heat made it extremely uncomfortable. Our day took twice as long as expected with nearly 3 hours worth of queueing. Booking online would have made little difference as the queues at all stands where huge. The site was very complicated with few sign posts explaining where to go or when to be there. Despite this, once we entered the mines & began our tour, the guide was fantastic. He was funny, friendly & very knowledgable. I can imagine, had it been a normal situation, we would have had a much better experience.

Daer Guest, Thank you very much for your feedback. We are very sorry if you felt uncomfortable with mentioned delays. Unfortunately all organised tours were under heavy preassure on that day due to pandemic. We hope that you will give us a second chance after everything is safe.

The mind boggles- human engineering at its finest!
Amazing trip. The sight we saw were breathtaking and it was hard to believe so much was constructed underground!
Had such a lovely visit. The tour guide was hilarious and obviously had a well rehearsed routine which worked superbly.
There was ample time to buy from the gift shop and the small tours allowed us to few comfortable making our own way back to the tour bus and taking the scenery in.

Highlight of our stay
Mar 2020
We arrived after a 30min transfer from our hotel to the Salt Mines. We had a fabulous guide who was very knowledgable. There are a lot of steps down and you do feel like they are never going to end but the fact that you know there is a lift to bring you back up at the end of the tour makes it worthwhile. Very interesting the history of the place and the guide even said you can lick the walls! I declined. Def worth a trip to see.
