Stop: 90 minutes - Admission included
Choose your desired tour start time and travel independently to Oskar Schindler’s Factory Museum in central Krakow. Meet your guide outside and hear how the museum is housed in the very factory where the Nazi industrialist Oskar Schindler employed Jewish workers during WWII. Before starting, get an illuminating introduction to Schindler, learning how Steven Spielberg brought his story to the world’s attention in his 1993 Oscar-winning movie, Schindler’s List. Then, head inside for your in-depth tour. Made up of interactive and photographic displays, the museum concentrates not only on Schindler’s and his employees’ work, but also on Krakow’s suffering during the run-up to war and beyond. As you explore, your guide will provide fascinating commentary, recounting poignant tales that will deepen your understanding of what happened here and Krakow’s history. Learn Schindler’s story and how his Jewish employees manufactured pots, pans, tins and other enamelware for the German army: a vital war effort that protected them from near-certain transportation to the concentration camps. See some of the products made here, view Schindler’s office, and hear the fates of some of the 1,200 Schindlerjuden — Schindler’s Jews — who worked in the factory. Follow your guide around the rooms dedicated to Krakow’s suffering during the war and later 20th century. View photographs of the terrorized city; be transported into the cobbled streets, resistance hideaways and prisons of the Nazi- and Soviet-occupied city; and get a sense of the overwhelming fear that gripped the population through original documents, artifacts, and film and radio recordings. After two hours of exploring, your tour ends outside the building. Say goodbye to your guide, who will provide you with directions back to the city center or your hotel as required.

The guide was excellent and we liked the headphones which stopped you having to try and hear him over the crowds and instead he was in my ear. Horrifying what the Krakov people went through, it is well laid out and tells the story of pre war, during occupation and after. Definitely do a guided tour saves on the long queue and got to appreciate the symbolic nature of a lot of the museum layout

Was unable to book a English tour as schedule conflict, but did on own. Took a Taxi from Hotel and worth it! The museum was well laid out and not too many floors to see. The actual factory roof can be seen, but is now occupied by a other company. His '2nd residence' is located right around the corner but being worked on. There is a short film you can view as it gives the history of Oskar Schindler's museum and all the efforts he made to protect his workers . Really fascinating to see the tools and ceramics the factory turned out. Tour should not take more than 2 hours and I would suggest booking a tour in English as they provide headphones so you can hear your guide much better.

Right outside you will see some Electric Tour carts that are for 'hire' as I got one and received a private tour of the Jewish Ghetto and Kashmir area. Really nice tour and was able to drop off close to my hotel -

The guide was rushing through the exhibitions and other people kept joining the group so people that had paid for the guided tour ended up stood in a different room and unable to hear. We started with around 15 and for the majority it was around 30 people because of people joining the group. Could’ve been good but was left disappointed

Hi Tom, Thank you for your feedback. I will inform Schindler's Museum office regarding the situation and guide's behaviour. I always encourage our tourists in such occurrence to speak to the tour guide and inform them that you wish to stay a little longer during certain exhibitions. From my personal experience, I can tell that it always work because a tour guide is not there for anyone who is in the museum but they are specifically for your group.

Walked from our hotel 2 miles away to the museum only to be turned away by a very abrupt woman on the main desk, as it was ‘full’ for the whole day, no exceptions.

We weren’t the only ones who were being turned away, whilst we were there we saw at least a dozen other people turned away too. On the walk back to our hotel large numbers of people walked past us heading toward the museum - we could only hope they had booked before walking there!

Surely you should be able to visit a museum even if you haven’t booked? Here in the UK I think a lot of our historic places of interest / museums etc would soon find themselves struggling to sustain tourism numbers.

Utterly ridiculous way of operating, some places should be reserved on each tour for people who arrive ‘on- spec’ - we wouldn’t have minded being allocated a time slot & waiting for that, rather than being told quite abruptly it was full & come back tomorrow (we couldn’t go back the next day, as that was our last day in Poland).

Dear Guest, We are very sorry to hear that you could not visit the venue. It seems that the situation you described relates to the service from the museum itself on which we have no influence unfortunately... :( Since daily number of tickets provided by museum is limited we recommend to book the tour from our side. With our help you can do that very easily and without worrying, your entry will be guaranteed! :)

Well planned and laid out. Learned so much and explanations make sense of so many things we had seen in Krakow. They need a better way to sell tickets. Some people waited for hours in line and then could not get in because only so many people are let in at a time and admission hours are not very long.

Booked tickets to the tour through Discover Crakow tours as struggled to get separate entrance tickets. The tour guide was late with no apologies. Tour felt rushed, struggled to hear what the guide was saying and when I said to her I was struggling to here the reply was stand closer. This was difficult with a large group in a small space and many other tourists looking around and lots of background noise. It would have been better to have audio tour then at least we could have heard what was being said. Half the group ended up leaving the tour and going round by themselves so the second half of the tour wasn't as bad due to being able to hear the guide although still very rushed and there is lots of information to read. Recommend purchasing tickets in advance direct and going around museum solo.

We visited this place on 25 February. Content of factual history and artefacts superb as was the knowledge of the guide. More about WW2 than Schindler himself. However, the tours are too big and the guide is already speaking before you get to the next section behind other tourists. The actual factory is no longer but this was the building housing his offices. We’ve been wouldn’t go again. Fair value for the amount paid.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I visited, but it's a great museum. Detailing the history of Kraków during the 2nd World War. The museum creates an authentic atmosphere of what it must have been like, and there's a lot of original documents and paraphernalia.
There is a lot of information to take on board so I would definitely return.

Really keen on history and visiting informative places. Perhaps we should have got a guide but had read they were rushed round. Found it difficult to follow as there was no set route so felt like we missed something’s as the rooms would have corridors each way with rooms off each and more corridors off those rooms so would have liked if there was a route to follow as once you had gone through it was difficult to find your way back to go down the other routes. Lots of information so was hard to digest. Definitely do not visit after a long day. Did enjoy the information but would have liked more on Oskar Shindler himself, maybe we missed the rooms for this.

This is an Exhibition about Kraków under the Nazis. It’s housed in Schindler’s Factory but there are only a couple references about Schindler. It’s very well done and very informative but it was pretty pointless to have a guide. Our guide rushed through each room, he didn’t even wait until the whole group were there before he started telling us about things in that room. As there were no headsets it was difficult to hear what was being said as there were background sound effects in most rooms and his English was difficult to understand at times.
