Pleasant drive with tour guide, and gripping tour with a magnetic engrossing 2nd guide
Aug 2020
Terrible, powerful, can't look away. And I can highly recommend this specific company. When they wanted to adjust the departure time they were very communicative and the whole experience was top notch. They also had a second departure time so we didn't have to leave at the ass-crack of the morning, and I liked having a meet-up point instead of hotel pick-up because then you know you're departure time - otherwise you're sitting at the ready in your hotel with only a departure window - at the whim of whatever hotels other guests will be staying at.

A very moving experience and one that we will respect and remember.well worth a visit
Feb 2020
We visited in February with weather presenting all seasons; sun, wind, rain and even snow, with the majority of the tour being outside this added to the reality of what had happened back then. Our Guide was very experienced and completely took us back in time. A very moving experience and one that we will respect and remember.

We booked a morning tour and visited both site, this took most of the day, we returned to Krakow early evening for more sight seeing and food, all round a great day in our weekend break.

Beautiful tour

It was a beautiful tour. The guide was very prepared and I could chose the one with my native language. Maybe the trip was to short (we didn't see all the things in the camp but just the most important) but at the price was cheap. Finally, I really recommend it!

Very informative and suggestive visit and exceptional guide.
A more unique experience than rare, never stop listening to the stories of the events of the two camps. When you move away from the concentration camp you realize how evil the human being can be

The tour was ok but it was a bit of a chaos at boarding, there were so many groups I barely found mine. I suggest you send out in the morning the info with the bus number to make it easier for everyone.
Other than that the tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Unfortunately the topic itself it's a dark, painful one but we should learn from the mistakes of the last...

An important historical site...not to missed or forgotten.
Mar 2020
We were on the slightly shorter tour: it was still a full day there and back from Krakow. I believe the longer tours spend more time in the second camp. Our guide was outstanding. It is important to have some perspective on Auschwitz-Birkenbau prior to going (I'd recommend Night by Elie Wiesel, Sunflower by Simon Wiesenthal, and the Volunteer by Jack Fairweather). These are difficult books, there are others too (e.g. Nazi Physicians by Jay Lipton). There are some surprises. For example, I was surprised that camp 1 was so small, and how large were the other camps. Although I have read a number of books on the death camps, and thought I knew what to expect emotionally...it was still hard to visit. The exhibits in Camp 1 in particular are poignant: to think that all that remain of the lives lost are some hair, personal belongings, shoes et cetera. To walk along the train line was almost impossible (particular in walking towards the gas chamber and crematorium): the walk by millions of mothers, small children, the elderly, the infirm, et cetera. The most important thing that remains is our collective memory, willingness to prevent similar atrocities in the future, and our respect for the Jewish people that suffered the most at the hands of the Nazis in this (and other) death camps. Although I am not Jewish, I am very grateful to the people of Poland who have maintained this historic site, and who care for the memories of all that suffered there.

Since very young I wanted to visit this site. Contrarily to expected I did not go under strong emotions there, but a calm wish to think over what happened.
