English tour takes about 2h30 - 3h,  Please wait in the reception in your hotel or outside if you stay in apartment. The mine, built in the 13th century, produced table salt continuously until 2007, as one of the world’s oldest salt mines still in operation. The mine’s attractions include dozens of statues, three chapels and an entire cathedral that has been carved out of the rock salt by the miners. Useful information: There are 20 chambers to visit – the Chapel of St. King is the most brilliant one. The visit is always conducted under the supervision of a guide. Temperature underground ranges between 14° and 16° C There are 800 steps to climb of which 350 at the beginning take you down into the mine. Wear comfortable shoes.

Our tour was well organised from the start. Tickets and badges were efficiently distributed.
The enormity of the excavated caverns has to be seen to be believed. Beautifully sculpted figures and decorations are beyond belief.
A must see when visiting Kraków

We truly enjoyed English guided tour of Wieliczka Salt Mine. What a special place it is! We had a lovely young lady as a tour guide who spoke very good English.
We had to take many steps down (300 maybe in the first shot) and saw only a small part of the mine but it was all worth it. There is a beautiful chapel, chandelier, lots of different figures and animals all carved out of salt. We were 135 below so it is not a trip for someone who is claustrophobic and does not like to walk. There is definitely a lot of walking involved (which we personally always enjoy), including probably 10 minute walk at the end back to the elevator. There is a little cafeteria below where you can get a drink and purchase a few souvenirs and also a very lovely inexpensive restaurant on the way out. The whole tour takes about 2 1/2 hours. A must-see while visiting Krakow.

We pre-booked the Salt Mine Tour and met our driver at a nearby hotel to where we were staying. Our Guide was Jacob. Trip was about 25 minutes. We had headphones and our guide in the Mine was very knowledgeable. We had to walk down 300 steps initially and then blocks of more - 800 steps in total and at our lowest point we were 3meters lower than the Eiffel Tower is high!! Fortunately we were able to catch a lift back to the top! It is absolutely amazing - everything is made from and carved from salt. There is a very large hall with a huge chandelier made from salt. There is a Chapel (where services are held) and again, everything is salt. Lots of carvings of figures and animals in the various chambers. We only saw a fraction of the mine. There were a couple of stops for a drink of water and a slightly longer one with bathroom facilities and tea/coffee and snack facilities. Numerous souvenirs too of course. The bookshop on ground level has some most interesting books. It is a must see experience if visiting Krakow.

I enjoyed working with this company and would use them again!

Konrad responded quickly to my email and answered all of my questions. This trip was easy to book and went smoothly. Konrad, our driver, was waiting outside the flat at the exact time and was a great driver to both camps, the salt mine, and back. He took us to a good lunch stop and helped translate. He was very friendly and professional all day. The guides at both places were excellent! So knowledgeable.

We were picked up and returned to the Hotel Legend in a minibus, we had a pre-booked guided tour around the caverns which was interesting and informative. The complex is vast although you only see the first few levels be prepared for lots of steps and walking also not good if you suffer from claustrophobia!
Well worth a visit.

Walk through shafts dug in the 1600's, understand the vast and seemingly endless supply of this critical mineral. Tours are very well executed with headphones and receivers tuned to your particular guide. This allows everyone to hear clearly, and the guide doesn't have to shout the whole time. There are many steps (I believe 400) down, but there are few steps to walk up. There is quite a bit of walking on somewhat level ground -so be prepared. It's not as cool as we expected, so dress in light clothing.

Our hotel booked this for us. Takes about 25minutes from Krakow. Well worth seeing but no good if you don't like smaller spaces and lots of walking. The tour lasts 2 hours and then you can buy another ticket to do more of the mines. We chose not to do this
