I’ve visited Auschwitz- Birkenau before but wanted to go again with us being back in Kraków.
We were picked up from directly outside of our apartment by a very sweet American/polish gentleman. We were in a can of only 7 of us so it was a comfortable journey of around 90 minutes.
We went on 28 January, one day after the 75th anniversary of the liberation, although we didn’t know this prior to coming. There were very large crowds when we arrived and we set off on our tour with around 20 other English speaking visitors.
Our female tour guide was very knowledgeable, however I did feel that the group was too large to be able to get the full experience. It felt like a lot of information was missed and certain parts such as the gates of death and the bathhouse were missed out.
Auschwitz is a must visit for everyone as it serves as a stark reminder of the evil that occurred all them years ago. It was just a shame that on this occasion there was a lot closed off to the public.

Thank you for your opinion. Your words are very important to us. While we would like to inform you that we have no influence on what is happening in the museum. For the future, we advise you to avoid days when there are anniversaries and before festivals.

The tour was great! We got picked up from our apartment, on time, and the driver stayed with us throughout the day driving us between Auschwitz and Birkenau answering questions etc. Our tour guide Berta was excellent, very passionate, inclusive and knowledgeable.

Would recommend tissues, and LOTS of warm clothing even if you don't feel that cold in Krakow (especially for Birkenau as it was completely outside). Also comfy shoes and snacks for the journey as the cafe is literally just a kiosk with snacks and a couple of warm things to choose from. Also bring change as the toilet costs 2 zloty!

Well recommend, we were all really impressed with the tour service.

This is the 2nd time I’ve done this tour and it’s one that everyone should do at least once in their lives.
The driver to and from the camps was punctual, polite and informative. The tour operator communicated well regarding pick up times and protocols for the day.
Our tour guide was fantastic. So knowledgeable about not just the camps but the whole history of the Nazi occupation, the liberation of the camp and key figures throughout the period. She clearly had a passion for the subject.
The pace was just right. Despite the many other tour groups there it didn’t feel rushed.
The tour it’s self is hard to describe, you simply have to experience it yourself.
Top tips: take a packed lunch, wear sturdy walking boots and a take a rain coat/umbrella, pack some tissues

We booked this trip with Welcome in Cracow before we left home. They were to message it email us the day before with the time of pick up. No contact by 9.30pm do we called them and were advised pickup was at 11.20am. Thought this was a little late, but allowed for an easy morning. Picked up on time along with 3 other people. We were advised our tour was at 12.30pm. We quickly worked out we were not getting to Auschwitz by 12.30. When we got there we were out of the minibus and at the entrance when our driver said the tour would start at 1.15pm. 35 mins to look around, no mention of why it was now 45 mins later than he had said earlier, also no chance to eat my sandwich which was locked in the van. The tour was excellent and the guide was amazing, softly spoken, but very clear with so much information. On the trio back I thought the driver was going to fall asleep. His eyes kept closing and it was clear to see he was struggling his can of red bull was clearly not helping. Made it back safe. Auschwitz was the saddest and most significant place I have ever been.

Thank you for your opinion. Pease check e-mail because according to viator messenger we sent a message with the time of pick up at 05.23 PM. This will avoid future misunderstandings. As for the closed car, unfortunately the driver is not able to predict when you will need to get inside, to avoid such situations you should inform the driver in advance that you will need to get inside and the driver will gladly help you. Nevertheless, we are glad that the trip was enjoyed and we wish all the best

This was one of the most incredibly moving but sad and heart-breaking experiences of my life and I am so glad that I made the trip. The tour guide was wonderful - so respectful to those who died there and the horrors that they endured. The gravity of what took place stuns one into silence and my friends and I needed time afterwards to recover. However, as the guide said over the top of one of the doors is a message saying 'those who forget history are condemned to repeat it'. This trip is something that everyone should do.

Very enjoyable trip. But was disgusted at the cost for the loo.2 zloytes each visit😱 the lady taking the money by hand must be making a fortune....I want her job.the guide wasn't brilliant as we couldn't understand her sometimes with her accent plus she was hard to lip read as my partner is partly deaf there is lots of walking in birkenhaus so wear appropriate clothing.

Very knowledgeable tour guide but we felt rushed. Would have liked more time to look and take pictures instead of being hurried along. Wasn't even given the opportunity to see birkenau memorial and plaques, just told they were there. I appreciate a lot of people are going through but give people time to take in the experience.

Picked up and dropped off from our stay even though it wasn't on the list.

Taken in a small bus with 8 others to meet up with another 2 busses at the camp.

Headphone guided tour that was so informative but also very sad and emotional. Really opens your eyes. Be prepared for the last stop at camp 1...

Onto camp 2 to meet up with the guide again without headphones. Was a short trip as weather had forced parts to be closed. Still very informative.

A must visit. Only 1 small gripe was sometimes, especially the 2nd camp, it felt a little rushed.
