About
Take a guided tour of the historical museum located in the former enamel factory of Oscar Schindler, as made famous in Steven Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List.” Experience the museum’s moving permanent collection. Learn about everyday life in Krakow during the Nazi occupation from 1939 to 1945. The exhibition is a story about both the Poles and Jews, as well as the Nazi occupiers.
Enter Schindler’s office, which has been preserved within the factory's administrative building. See the “Survivor’s Ark” made of thousands of enamel pots, similar to those produced in the factory. Witness documentary photographs, eyewitness accounts, film documentaries, and multimedia presentations.
Wander through a theatrical recreation of Krakow’s historical city space. Board a tram and watch a documentary portraying the everyday life of the city. Visit a typical Jewish apartment. See artifacts from the Plazow camp. Walk through the “Hall of Choices”.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- euxomai0 contributionsExcellent experience in PolandOur family had a wonderful time on this excursion visiting many of the wooden UNESCO churches of Poland. Our guide, Maciej (Matthew), was absolutely wonderful. His communication was excellent both leading up to the trip and during the day together. He had the route well planned and that included coffee or other stops along the way. His company, Poland Active, has many other types of excursions too, all of which look interesting. We highly recommend him and this company to you.Written 27 February 2025

- monickak20250 contributionsOjcow national park - beautiful natureWe got there by car (about 20 minutes) from Krakow. The nature and rocks are beautiful. We took many photos. There is a paved path in the middle. It was Sunday, so there were quite a lot of peopleWritten 4 January 2025

- andyzdz0 contributionsVery unique placeMy friend and I did not participate in a tour. We drove there ourself and we did not regret. This village outside of Krakow, is very unique. Many house are hand painted with beautiful, colorful flower like ornaments. Each house has it's own unique decorations going from generation to generation. We learned that each year, there is a competition and villagers paint their houses from the scratch. It is really worthy to spend a couple of hours to stroll through that village, especially when weather is nice.Written 29 November 2024
- Cfamily0 contributionsA wonderful and unique experienceIf like I was, you have been drawn in by photos of the unique and beautiful UNESCO world heritage site churches and want to also see something of the beautiful rural Malopolska region then I highly recommend this tour led by Poland Active. This is an exceptional tour led by a highly professional guide. From first communication via email to arrange the tour to a reassuring WhatsApp message the day before to confirm arrangements, I felt assured that this was a well organised and trustworthy company. Maciej my guide arrived promptly at a convenient meeting point and explained his plans for the day, with thoughtfully planned comfort breaks and a lunch stop. The tour lasted around 11 hours and covered a wide area with the opportunity to see 8 wooden churches, each with a distinctive architectural style. Local guides had been booked in advance to open up the buildings and reveal the intricate and beautiful polychrome decoration which dates back hundreds of years. The whole day was very well planned, and the pace of the trip was perfect. Maciej is a safe driver and a thoughtful and knowledgeable guide who went out of his way to ensure I enjoyed the tour. A unique and memorable experience, Thankyou!Written 19 November 2024
- 811chrystalw0 contributionsNot claustrophobiaI was worried about feeling claustrophobic as don’t like small spaces. I need not have worried. The smallest place is where you queue to get into the mines and this was not cramped. If you can cope with the entrance you will be fine, if you don’t like it, you can leave at this point. I would say try and persevere as the walk ways are light and airy and not cramped. Most of the area are large and spectacular and this trip is amazingWritten 5 November 2024
- Fogg65430 contributionsA great castle tour with a very knowledgeable driver and tour guideWe were collected on time from our hotel by a friendly good safe driver. He kept us informed about timings and plans to visit various castles including one used in Game of Thrones all along the eagles nest chain. Great informative tour and all entrance fees are included.Written 22 October 2024
- GenevieveKG0 contributionsCustom Castle and Czestochowa Day TripThis was our second tour in a week with our guide, Maciej (Matthew). We intended to rent a car and do this tour on our own, but we were able to experience so much more with Maciej without the worry about opening times, parking, schedules, and all the other logistics that he handled seamlessly for us. I'm so glad we had Maciej as our guide! The van was comfortable and Maciej was an excellent driver, telling us about the area and stopping along the route for unique photo opportunities, including some unexpected surprises. He really customized this experience for us and we highly recommend him. We really enjoyed visiting so many castles and the monestary visit to see the black Madonna in Czestochowa was wonderful. Similar to our other tour with Maciej, we had plenty of time for photos and visiting each site. There were also sufficient rest stops for coffee/snacks and toilets. Maciej is an excellent and safe driver, which we appreciated. We spent about 13 hours total with Maciej for this tour and look forward to booking with him again in the future. Thank you, Maciej, for such a memorable day!Written 22 October 2024
- GenevieveKG0 contributionsDay Trip of a LifetimeWe had a wonderful time touring the wooden churches in lesser Poland. Our guide, Maciej (Matthew), was excellent and he really made the tour special for us. There were plenty of opportunities for photos at each church, and Maciej knew all the best spots for photos! We had sufficient rest stops for coffee/snacks and toilets, and a delicious Polish lunch along the way. Maciej was also an excellent and safe driver, which we appreciated. We would not have been able to coordinate such a trip on our own. We were so impressed that we booked a second tour. Thank you, Maciej, for such a memorable day!Written 22 October 2024
- F2261PVsimone0 contributionsAmazing dayWe had a wonderful day exploring the castles in the Eagle's Nest tour. The different castles vary from large, sprawling ruins to fully renovated (and containing museums). Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly, plus the small group size (there were just 4 of us) meant that we got personal attention. Very highly recommended.Written 19 October 2024
- Gwen C0 contributionsGreat trip to see the castles near KrakowWe had the most amazing experience with Maciek . From start to finish, he went above and beyond to ensure our trip was perfect. He is not only incredibly knowledgeable about the area but also friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. Maciek is incredibly patient, always answering our questions with a smile and making adjustments to the itinerary to accommodate our needs. He even took us to some hidden gems that only locals know about, and added personal touch to the tour that made it unforgettable. We can’t recommend Maciek enough – if you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about your experience and will go out of their way to make it special, Maciek is the guide for you!Written 9 October 2024
- 7mikm10 contributionsSuper experience!Super experience. Maciek is amazing. We were a group of 3 adults and 2 kids booked to the river rafting and from the moment we met he was friendly, kind, very experienced and great with our small kids. We had a good time and Maciek suggested a few things to try based on his knowledge and I'm glad we did! Maciek knows a lot and I'm sad that we met only at the end of our holiday as I would have liked him to take us on other outings especially to the country/mountain areas outside Krakow.Written 7 October 2024
- X7365VMdanielg0 contributionsBeautiful Dunajec River Gorge! We had a great tour of the Dunajec River Gorge thanks to Poland Active Day Tours! We were picked up and greeted right on time by Maciej in Krakow. It was a scenic 2 hour ride to Southern Poland with Maciej pointing out various points of interest and stopping at a beautiful . We started with an easy 8 mile + ride along side the Dunajec river through the river gorge. We then got on a raft and paddled back down the river. What a great time! Thanks Maciej and Poland Active Day Tours!!Written 7 October 2024
