- JPBChicago0 contributionsI'd do this tour again in a heartbeatLoved this tour -- Marcin was an outstanding, knowledgeable, highly amusing guide who showed me a million aspects of Warsaw that were not obvious to my naked eye. I'm a history teacher / buff, and this fed my soul -- I've been home for a week, and this is the experience I keep coming back to as I share about what I saw/learned in Poland. Super fun to zip around in the vintage Fiat -- I recommend this tour heartily to anyone looking for a wise and witty lens into life under communism and a savvy take on contemporary politics and recent history. Loved it -- thank you, Marcin!!Written 23 March 2025

- aleb7860 contributionsBest self drive your ever. The best tour i ever had in a foreign capital town. KONRAD was really polite and professional, he showed us many fascinating places in Warsaw and told us a lot about the socio-political reality of Warsaw in the communist times. Really the best tour guide I ever met. I already had a tour with him last year and this year I asked to have him as a guide again, but we explored a different part of town. There's always more to discover.Written 14 March 2025

Our guide, Konrad was the best, he spoke perfect English and was fun to be with. His depth of knowledge about Warsaw’s history was amazing, it was like touring with a history professor. I learned so much about Polish history and Warsaw! I’ve been on a lot of tours, and I have to say, this was one of the best. It’s only 3 hours long, but we saw so much we felt like it was a lot longer. I would give this tour my highest recommendation! .Written 20 February 2025

We can’t believe how much we saw on this day trip, not only of the Wolf’s Lair but also just getting to ride through northern Poland by car. The Wolf’s Lair was very far from most of our other sightseeing plans, so we were very surprised and happy to find a group who offered this as a tour from Warsaw. On the way back we also stopped at a great local restaurant and had some delicious traditional Polish food, which was also included in our tour tickets.
Marcin was an incredible and very personable guide: he clearly knew a lot about the Wolf’s Lair and was great about answering all of our questions about both the Wolf’s Lair and Poland in general. If you get the chance to ask for a guide, he should 100% be for your first choice! We’ll be recommending him and this trip to everyone we know looking to visit Poland.

A very pleasant drive through the Polish countryside side in a nice minivan with plenty of stops along the way for food or restrooms. Marcin our guide was well spoken in English and very accommodating and did not rush us. He made the effort to make conversation for the entire trip. We would highly recommend this trip and Marcin. Thanks for a memorable day.

We took the all-day Wolf’s Lair trip from Warsaw. Marcin was our guide and he was unbelievable, an excellent guide. It was great to talk about Polish culture vs the U.S. and some of the history of Poland, Marvin was very knowledgeable about the Wolf’s Lair and gave our kids time to explore some of the bunkers, where it was allowed.
After the Wolf’s Lair, we stopped for dinner in Czerniki at small local restaurant. Great food.
Highly recommend this tour. It was a great personal family tour without the big groups.
Marcin, thank you for the awesome and unforgettable time. My wife, kids, and I fully enjoyed it.

Our trip to Wolf's Lair with Marcin was excellent. He was very knowledgeable (with a background in history including US history) and also friendly and conversational. We talked about all topics on the trip to and from Warsaw, from personal to Polish, including Polish rock music. He was also able to find a spot that could accommodate our vegan needs, as we stopped at a Polish restaurant on the way back.
The actual Wolf's Lair tour went very well, as Marcin could explain and highlight key points, answer any questions we had, and help us see through the ruins to how things would have been and key design decisions that were made in the construction of the site. The pacing was also good, not rushed in any way, and we had time to enter certain ruins.
Overall, the visit to Wolf's Lair added perspective to our understanding of World War 2, and was a good complement to our later visit to Auschwitz.
Just a note on the site - there is a visitor center with a gift shop and toilets, and food options if needed. Also, having a pocket umbrella and poncho would be recommended in case of rain.

If you value history, then you must devote a day to this tour! This tour, along with a visit to the Warsaw Uprising Museum, is the perfect combination to gain a glimpse into what World War Two was really like.
The tour guide Martin is a complete gentleman, who strives to maintain the happiness of his guests. The company van he drives is both clean and comfortable. The four hour drive goes smooth, as you pass through the picturesque scenery of polish farmland. Martin fills the time very well, with polish history and culture.
The included meal at the museum, is ate in one of the original buildings and is quite delicious! Hiking attire is not necessary, as the paths are paved and accessible. This is a great tour for adventurous couples, or for the whole family. Take a trip here while you can, before nature takes over completely!

This is an amazing experience to see the exact places where Hitler commanded his disastrous eastern front during World War II. The warlord was here for over 600 days between 1941 and 1944 so this is a very important part of World War II history. The guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable. He was really enthusiastic about telling this historic story. From Warsaw it’s about 3 hours each way but completely worth the trip. A great lunch in the nearby town really helped make it seem like a short sojourn. I highly recommend the trip to anyone who is interested in World War II history or who wants to see where the assassination attempt on Hitler from the movie Valkyrie actually happened.

I had used this company for previous tours in Warsaw and had been impressed by their reliability and service. I was pleased that for this visit to the Wolf's Lair I once again had Marcin as my guide.
This unique historical spot is a lengthy drive from Warsaw but the time passed quickly with Marcin as we discussed many aspects of Polish life, history and current affairs. The journey was worthwhile to see the monolithic structures of Hitler's abandoned base, as well as the site of the famous 1944 assassination attempt. This really felt like a window into history that few people get to see.
Marcin was happy to answer all questions along the way. We were also able to visit an abandoned Nazi canal lock at a different location on the way back, which further added to the experience.
Overall I was very satisfied with the trip and would not hesitate to continue to recommend this company and Marcin in particular. Thank you again!

The Wolf's Lair and its significance as a key location for the conduct of the second world war would have been much more difficult to interpret without our guide, Martin. At the (mostly destroyed) Wolf's Lair, he explained the use each building was put to and the fortification and camoflage measures. We later visited the High Command of the German army, which although empty of the original contents, was not physically destroyed and there were many similarities in the construction with the Wolf's Lair. He is very knowlegeable about the second world war and commented extensively about it and answered all our questions. I consider myself quite knowlegeable, but I still learnt a lot. In addition, we visited an abandoned part-finished lock gate construction, which was planned by the Nazis as part of a string of locks necessary to achieve a navigable connection to the Baltic. Such enormous projects reflect the engineering might of the third Reich and their fantastic organisational skills. Martin was considerate and friendly and made the effort to engage all members in conversation throughout the day. He bought us an informative pamphlet in English for the Wolf's Lair, gave us some biscuits for the long return journey to Warsaw and finished off by giving us a shot of flavoured vodka. We were very happy.

Marcin was an excellent tour guide! We wish we could have him as our guide for all of the tours throughout the week! Not only did he speak great English, he was very friendly, informative, and helpful. Marcin often provided helpful information without us even having to ask and he answered all of our questions without hesitation (believe me, we had a lot). Thank you so much for the tour, we learned a lot!

Martin was such a fanstaic tour guide, his knowledge of the area, Warsaw, the rest of Poland as well as othe historical knowledge was just outstanding! We had such a brilliant day. The drive passed quickly, it did not feel like 4 hours and the tour around Wolf's Lair was very comprehensive and interesting. We are so pleased we booked this and would recommend anyone visting the area, with the time to book this tour.

Dear guide,
I am trying to setup a reservation for the tour on the 15th of february, since I am going alone it would cost 200 euros. However, the website changes the value of the tour to 400 euros once I go into the checkout zone.
Could you please help? If the value is indeed 200 euros, I would like to setup this appointment.
Regards,
Arthur
