What to expect
The Hungarian Parliament Building, built between 1885 and 1902, currently boasts 691 rooms and staircases stretching for more than 12 miles (20 kilometers). Its regal exterior has become an iconic site in the city’s panorama and the interior hosts the Holy Crown of Hungary. After being picked up from your hotel, you'll begin the tour inside the neo-Gothic architecture of the Parliament building. Your guide will lead you through the Session Room, the central staircase and the Great Vaulted Hall. You’ll have the opportunity to ask your guide questions as you travel from room to room and learn more about the country’s rich history. After your tour of Parliament, you’ll take a load off your feet and hop back into the car, crossing over the Danube via Margaret Bridge. Your guide will drive to the Buda side of the city, where the Royal Castle sits. Here you’ll have the opportunity to admire the views from Fishermen's Bastion and see the interior of Matthias Church. After stopping for pictures at the Citadel, you'll cross back over to Pest on the Elisabeth Bridge and drive to Heroes' Square, situated next to Budapest’s beloved City Park. Before the tour concludes at the Hotel Intercontinental, you’ll make your last stops by the Hungarian Opera House and the impressive St. Stephen's Basilica.

Parliament Visit
Sep 2019
Interesting tour and a great opportunity to see inside this magnificent building. We also got to see the changing of the guard which was a bonus. The 1956 revolution display nearby is a must-see. It put's into perspective what the Hungarians experienced in this difficult period. Well worth the visiut

I should have trusted the reviews...

The Parliament visit was rough starting. We could not even get our headsets working before they left us. It was consistently hard to hear. But it got worse from there... never take a tour where one person is translating in two languages. It is impossible to keep up, sites are missed, and no one gets a good tour.

Poorly Organized Tour; will not use Viator again
Sep 2019
I was very disappointed with this tour of the Budapest Parliament Building including a three hour city tour. We met at the office of the local tour company and were then taken by bus, accompanied by a guide, to the Parliament Building. At the Parliament Building, we were turned over to one of their guides. So, the bus ride and the accompanying guide served no purpose. We could have just met at the Parliament Building, which was a short distance away. After the tour of the Parliament Building, the guide then attempted to connect us with the city portion of the tour (which was led by yet another guide). After many phone calls and walking around, we finally connected with the group for the city tour. It appeared as if we were joining a tour already in progress. The guide on the city tour was good, but, we spent most of the three hours riding in the bus with limited time at actual attractions. The last of the three stops was the St. Mattias church. The tour was supposed to include the entrance price to the church. Instead, the guide told us that if we wanted to go in the church, we would have to buy tickets. When we attempted to do so, we were told that the church was closing in 20 minutes. So, we did not go in.

Bottom line, I would not recommend this tour. The Parliament Building is worth seeing - find another way to get there. Budapest is a relatively large city with many attractions. I recommend taking a river cruise to get an overview of the main attractions of the city. This is a much more efficient way to see what the city has to offer. I did contact Viator, afterwards, to tell them that the tour did not include entry to the St. Matthias church as advertised. They never responded. I will not be using Viator again to book a tour.

My most favorite landmark in Budapest. Amazing architecture and beautiful inside. Must see during nighttime all lit up. Tour was ok but it is definitely worth checking it out inside.

Worth fighting for a refund - terrible!
Apr 2019 • Friends
My husband and I took this tour this morning. The tour started late, was EXTREMELY unorganized, there was much confusion on the vendors part regarding buses. When we FINALLY got to the the building, the tour of the Parliament building was cursory, in a group led not by a Viator guide, but instead was a standard guide that anyone off the streets could have utilized because EVERYONE that pays for an admission is on the same tour - and know that it is only 45 minutes - not 1-1/2 hours. And then the real fun began (and late, again). We were on a small bus (held about 30 people) and there were two guides - 1 giving the tour in Italian (for 2 Italians on the bus) and the other giving it in English. We were told this was an English tour. The tour guides didn’t speak at the same time, but took turns with the microphone (and the one giving the tour in Italian was especially long-winded) and we missed many details about the locations we were passing. It was impossible to ask questions and very disappointing for all parties on our bus and certainly not worth our time our money. I would like to get my money back, but know the end result will not be worth trouble. I wish we had our day back to be able to spend those precious hours with a real tour group!

Budapest Parliament Tour Including Pick-Up
Good tour, but far too short for the price. The tour only goes through a very small portion of the building.
