Adam is an excellent guide with lots of knowledge about Jewish history, religion and traditions. His way of giving information is perfect, very easy to take in and remember. He also handles tough topics like the Holocaust with great sensitivity and empathy.

On this walking tour we visited the Rumbach Street Synagogue, including the inside which had just opened up again, the Dohany Street Synagogue and the Ghetto Wall Memorial. On the way he pointed out other aspects like the stumbling stones and a wall with pictures about Jewish life before WW2.

After this tour he took me off the beaten track - to a beautiful place in the North of Buda, on the riverfront, where lots of locals enjoyed their day out and I could soak up the relaxing, happy atmosphere.

This tour was the perfect combination of information, emotions and holiday feeling - I am very glad I had Adam by my side since it enhanced the experience and gave me a great possibility to learn from an expert.

We are most happy to read that you enjoyed touring with Adam! We can not find words to describe how happy we are that after all those years, we finally could show someone the interior of the Rumbach street synagogue as well! Looking forward to welcoming you again in our hometown!

I did two tours with Adam. The first one was a tour of the City Park and Heroes Square, the second one a tour to the Buda Hills including the Elizabeth lookout tower.

Both tours were excellent - very well paced, taking into account which parts of Budapest I have seen before and Adam was providing comprehensive, easy to grasp knowledge of the area, historical as well as cultural background. It really helped to get a deeper understanding of Budapest and Hungary and discover parts of the city I would have never explored on my own.

I visited three synagogues with Adam and was once again impressed by his knowledge about the synagogues we entered as well as Jewish history and traditions and his sensitive, emphatic approach. It was easy to comprehend all the information given and I got a great insight and understanding of Jewish life in Budapest. In addition to this I enjoyed the attentive, perfectly paced style of guiding that perfectly fit my style of travelling. Thanks for this educational, memorable tour!

We visited with our two adult children and Adam was a huge hit with all of us. His knowledge of history coupled with his delightful sense of humor made us feel as if we were touring with a dear friend. We engaged him early on and adjusted some our plans based on his recommendations. Our weeklong stay was enhanced immeasurably by our short time spent with him.

Adam was one of the best tour guides we had. He was informative with the history of Budapest and allows you to move at your own pace. We were able to take photos without feeling hurried and purchase snacks along the way. Adam showed us the highlights of Budapest and recommended places to try during our stay.

We had the pleasure of taking two walking tours with Adam Marot. Adam is an excellent tour guide. Our first tour explored the Jewish Quarter. Adam's knowledge of Budapest Jewish history is extensive. Additionally, Adam is interested in the Jewish faith and has close contacts with Rabbis. Budapest is perhaps the only major city in Central Europe where the Jewish community survived in sufficient numbers to remain vital. One hundred thousand Jews live in Budapest and Adam can speak to contemporary Jewish life in the city. The second tour was of the castle and other areas. Adam's knowledge of history is extensive and he knows all of the sites, perfect places for photographs and how to run a walking tour.

Beyond the walking tours, Adam is Hungarian and can share his family's story of living under communist rule in the Iron Curtain. Adam also displays an incredible sense of humor coupled with keen knowledge of politics and Hungarian society. He also recommended numerous, non-tourist, places to eat, bathes and places to listen to music. Book a walking tour with Adam and you will get far more than a typical tour guide can offer. Thank you Adam.

What a fantastic guide Adam is. So enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the wonderful Budapest. Very entertaining and nothing too much trouble. Highly recommend. We can't wait for another trip and to meet up with Adam to see all the places we did not have time to visit. Thank you Maggie and Chris...

This was our highlight. Adam knew the best places and times to get great photos and helped us learn how to set them up. Weather was very cooperative so that helped also. Highly recommend Adam. He's very knowledgeable and easy going and thoroughly enjoyable to be with. He also follows up - I messaged him a week later because I couldn't remember the name of the place and he got back to me immediately. Very nice guy!
