    Wonderful tour
It was a wonderful tour learning about the Jewish history of Budapest. Joel was so knowledgeable and thorough. We saw 3 synagogues and got to really understand the history.

A glimpse of the Jewish history in Budapest and a visit to the current vibrant life of the Jewish quarter
Real cultural tour with a nice local guide! Very recommended! Zsolt was our guide, he is very welcoming and very knowledgeable. We were a small group, which meant we could go to more synagogues and see even more special Jewish-related spots around the city. The tour was very informative, with a lot of emphasis on the Jewish community's history. I highly recommend this guided tour, I had a lot of fun and learned a lot of new things. Great value for money.

Amazing historical and local point of view of the city, history came to life! Such a great tour!
Amazing guided tour, with lots of sightseeing, history, and local culture. Judit was our guide and she is a very knowledgeable person, a good storyteller that makes history a fascinating thing. Having her as our guide made me appreciate the city even more. This tour was a very fun and intriguing experience - history came to life as we walked passed the most famous places. Having such a small and intimate group helped this feel like a hike with a group of friends, we got the chance to ask any question and decide the best route for us - like it was tailored-made for our interests and desires. I highly recommend this guided tour, as it was very informative and I could get to know the city - all of its history and hidden gems, not just a basic sightseeing but rather a more meaningful experience. Thank you so much for a lovely time! Highly appreciated!

Loved our tour with the extremely knowledgable local historian Noémi
Our guide Noémi was absolutely brilliant - a local historian who customized the private tour entirely to our interests. She began with a history overview lesson which put everything into context as she showed the different sites, she had picture aids to show, and she was extremely knowledgable with lots of gems of great stories. She made comprehensible the very complex history of Budapest in a way that was sensible and clear. She answered all our questions about day-to-day life. This is truly one of the best tours anywhere in the world we've experienced!

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable on the history of the area. Easily answered all of our questions. The group was also very small, which made it very nice.

    Best guided tour in town!
We did the Downtown tour with Virag on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Budapest Explorers opened another tour as all other were already fully booked when I contacted them, which was super nice of them. We had the privilege of being the only ones on the tour and it was by far the best guided tour we ever did. Virag is passionate about her country's history (past and more recent). In 3 hours we managed to have a great glimpse of Hungary history through the evolution of its capital city. We loved the tour because it was like walking around with a friend, it was a real exchange and super interesting discussion. We would recommend 200% (and already did to some friends)! We will for sure do another one with Budapest Explorers if we travel to Budapest again! Huge thanks again to Virag!

Great Tour of the History of Hungarian Communism
As a history buff with an interest in the post-war communist period of Eastern Europe, the 3-Hour Walking Tour About Communism was the best one that I experienced while in Budapest. Gabriel conveyed his very comprehensive and detailed knowledge about Hungarian Communism as we stopped at key sights of historical importance. His passion for and knowledge about this topic was evident and made the tour even more interesting. The tour was not rushed with plenty of time to ask questions and take pictures. A nice ending to the tour was having a coffee at one of the few remaining authentic communist period's establishments, along with a ticket to take the tram back to the Pest side. All in all, an excellent tour for anyone who wants to delve into the history and intricacies of Hungarian Communism with an excellent guide. Highly recommended!

The Jewish Community and Hungarian History
My wife and I agreed this tour was very informative and educational about the Jewish Heritage in Hungry. The citizens of Hungry and Jewish Community should be quite proud of what they have accomplished considering how many times they were conquered. All of our questions were answered and our final stop was at a Synagogue with some very unique designs. The 1 hr. lecture and 3 hr. walking tour went by very quickly. It provided us a greater understanding of Hungry’s history and how the Jewish Community played such a vital role in its rebuilding/prosperous years. We will never forget the young informative tour-guide. Wish we got her mom’s goulash recipe.

    Pretty much as advertised
Pretty much as advertised which is what I was looking for. Hungary's history is more complicated than I knew and I'm glad that aspect was covered. Interesting to know that the country doesn't seem to have any towering 20th century figures around which most of its citizens can rally.

This was the best tour I’ve been on since being here in Europe!!! Maggie our guide was funny and informative! Honestly could’ve listened to her all day! She gave us insight into not only the history of Budapest and when things transpired, but Hungary in general!!! I learnt so much about the sights and would highly recommend doing this tour! We sat down for a complimentary drink and toilet stop in the middle of the tour, she was easy to understand and made learning the history behind Buda Castle, Matthias church, Fisherman’s Bastion and Budapest in general a really really fun experience!!! Thoroughly enjoyed it! Thank you Maggie 😁

I visited Budapest with my 2 teen children. Our guide kept us captivated during the entire 3 hour tour. We learned and saw things we never would have thought to do on our own. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and adapted to her audience. Gave us fabulous restaurant recommendations as well. Highly recommend!

Greg, our tour guide, was incredible!! He gave us a great tour of the Castle District. We saw many behind the scene areas that we would not have seen without him. An intimate look at St Mathias, the secrets of the Hilton Hotel, a stop at a cafe for coffees and sweets and spectacular views. He was open to answering all of our questions. It is obvious that he loves his city and takes great pride in it. Would give him
The highest of possible ratings, and if I ever make it back to Budapest, I will definitely book another tour with him!!!!

The monuments are beautiful, but for us, the best part was what Adam, an excellent guide, told us.
It was awesome . The detailed information about the monuments and the history that surrounds them made the tour very interesting. The coffee stop and the delicious cake enriched the morning.
Thank you for the experience.
