      Riga with a local
Liga was an excellent guide. Knowledgeable and really proud of her city, she provided the perfect introduction to the fascinating city of Riga. She was professional and keen to show us all Riga had to offer, from its history to current day living. A most enjoyable and wide ranging tour.

Great tour with Liga from Riga.
We enjoyed an excellent customized private walking tour with Liga from Riga. We were a group of 6 and really enjoyed Liga's enthusiasm, knowledge, and commitment to showing the best of Riga. We had limited time, so we combined a city walking tour with a food-tasting finale in the Central Market. The email communication to set up the tour was very reliable, and everything went off as planned and on time. We would be very happy to tour with Liga again. Thank you very much.

An easy city to walk around so long as you don't mind the cobbles.
Riga is a small city and it is easy to walk around, so long as you don't mind cobbles, comfortable shoes are a must. The architecture is varied and different, both old and modern, and lots of churches and cathedrals. We went with a guide called Alexander to the old part of the city where they are doing up some of the very old wooden houses. The parks are well kept and there are plenty of them, with various statues and monuments to see. Everywhere is clean and tidy, although they are putting in a new railway line which will run to the airport - so some building work is going on.

      Amazing Experiencce!
Our guide picked us up from our hotel and gave us the most amazing introduction to the main areas of Riga. She was keen to tailor the tour to what we were most interested in, which was great. During one of our coffee breaks, she even helped us to book tickets to the ballet. We learned so much about the city and the country's history during the tour, exploring the old town, lots of parks and the art deco district. The tour of the market was a highlight, and allowed us to try foods we'd never have been able to order on our own! Highly recommended tour and thank you for an amazing experience.

      Beautiful Day in Riga!
We had truly an amazing time in Riga!! And Liga was the perfect guide to share her wonderful city with us. She was very responsive prior to our trip and worked out our meeting point and tailored a perfect tour for our group. We were able to experience Riga Central district with the art nouveau buildings and see the wonderful preserved old town while walking through beautiful parks along the way and hearing about the history of Riga. And as an added bonus, she took us to the amazing central market where we were able to try out wonderful Latvian cuisine and shop for goodies to return home with. It was unfortunate that we only had one day in Riga being only a cruise stop but Liga from Riga made it a memorable one and we will be sure to visit again, spend more time, and hopefully schedule more tours with Liga. Thank you for showing my wife and I as well as our friends your beautiful city!!!

      Amazing Tour
Liga is a wonderful guide. Riga is a beautiful city with such a rich history. We were very lucky to spend our first afternoon there walking around with Liga. She is a native who knows the city very well. She shared her love of the city and Latvian people with us and I couldn't have asked for a better tour. Thank you Liga.

      Couldn’t be better
We had a wonderful private tour with Liga. She went way beyond what might be expected and spent as long as was necessary to show us all the sights. We thoroughly enjoyed it, learning about the political and social history as we went along. As well as showing us the sights Liga also took us into a variety of shops to point out different Latvian foods, costumes etc, we had coffee in the park and sampled cheese in the Central Market. She left us with plenty of recommendations for places to eat and see in the coming days. Couldn’t have been better. Thank you Liga!

Very enjoyable and worthwhile tour. Excellent guide.
Thoroughly enjoyable walking tour. Our guide, Edite was excellent. (Like Edith Piaf, she told us but she can’t sing! :-) ) Very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and pleasant with lots of interesting facts and historical background with lots of humour and conversation throughout. We were three separate couples who didn’t know each other who bonded very quickly along the tour as we covered the city’s many sites. The city (and country) has a rich history with varied architecture from very old to very striking art nouveau buildings from early 20th century which the guide took us to see and understand. The tour is very nicely paced and lasted longer than expected as we were talking so much and stopped off for an unscheduled coffee along the way. (Rigan’s seem to love their coffee). Finished at the market where we said our goodbyes. Felt like family at the end. Highly recommend this tour.

This was a great food tour! Our guide Edithe was so friendly and knowledgeable, we really enjoyed our time with her. We learnt loads about Latvia and its history and how people live nowadays. The food tasting part was great too. Edithe offered loads of different options for us to try and you could ask for things yourself if you fancied.
The trip isn’t weather dependent either as you are inside.
    Would definitely recommend!

The best part of the experience was not just the tasting of the variety of Latvian foods - but learning more generally about Latvian foods and cuisine. Our guide could not have been more friendly or helpful. We also learnt a lot about living in Latvia itself which was really intersting.

We had an absolutely amazing time on this tour. I would say this is a must do tour when visiting Riga. We were treated to lots of different traditional foods and learnt a lot about Latvian culture. Liga was extremely friendly and personalised the tour to our interests! Cannot wait to come back and experience another tour with Liga!

This walking tour will take you about an hour and a half to two hours, and is almost entirely indoors. The market is housed in 5 old hangars, one devoted to meat, one to dairy, one to fish and one for fruit and veg. One is under renovation and empty at present.
Our guide met us at the designated spot punctually. She was cheerful and full of information about the daily habits and diet of Latvians.
One thing I liked was that this spot isn't for tourists - this is where the locals get their food, and is therefore authentic. Your guide will buy small samples of food and drink for you to try at impromptu indoor picnics.

We had a very enjoyable couple of hours in the company of Liga Vanaga as she took us through the market. We were able to try a wide range of local dishes as she explained about the local traders, customs, and foods. This is a great way to get to understand any city and Liga was a very good host. We also managed to get a few things to bring home with us. Highly recommended as an introduction to Riga and Latvia.

We took this tour of Riga Central Market a bit off season, so there were just the two of us and our guide. We asked loads of questions and she did her best to answer all of them. The tour lasted 2.5 hours, probably because of our questions, but our guide was very patient and polite. We got to try many different type of foods, it was enough for lunch for us. Watching her we got the hang of the market and walking around ourselves at the market the day after we felt confident to buy foods and try things on our own. It was all we hoped for and we highly recommend this tour to everyone who is interested in getting to know Rigan food culture!

We had Liga from Rīga as our guide ;) she was very informative and we got a great tour of the market. I wouldn’t have ever ordered what we tried, so it was great to get out of my comfort zone to try some traditional things. Would recommend!

Liga was an excellent guide giving us first a brief history of Riga and Latvia, explaining the culture and food. She then took us to the food market which was a series of hangers. She started with the meat hanger where we tried perogies, salami, smoked meats, borscht, and other local soups. We then went to the dairy section and tried local cheeses and dumplings. Next vegetables where we had beets and cabbage. Then onto the fish hanger where various fish were available to sample. We finished with local chocolates, coffees, and cakes. Excellent and filling day!

Any small group tour is also an experience between the guide and tour guests, and you both were very nice, interested, opened to trying different things, also interacting with other tour participants. We choose RAMI Travel, they picked us up on time from the airport and started with our tour. Excellent driver and more importantly excellent German speaking guide. We had -12 degrees in outside temperature, but the guide amended the tour accordingly so that we could always warm up. The food tasting was a great experience and I wouldn't miss it, it is definitely worth it. Thanks again to Oscars, Ilze, Liga and Cynthia.
