Had such a brilliant day! If you want to experience an authentic taste of how life was before Latvian independence this will be ideal for you. The soviet bunker was so interesting and something you won’t get to do very often so I would definitely recommend it then the fortresses in the forest area are great as you realise just what it was like then. This is all within 30 minutes of the centre of Riga so no lengthy travel needed either. Kristna was a great guide who knew the answers to all my questions and nothing was too much trouble. If you are looking for a different experience than what the old town in Riga offers this tour is a must 😃👍

This trip covers three destinations that are an essential for a tourist trying to make the most of their time in Riga. Our guide Janas (forgive me if the spelling is incorrect) provided a wealth of information not only on the destinations, but about Latvia as well. Always inviting questions, we could learn about all aspects of Latvian culture and living. Very easy-going travel, no rush, and plenty of extras, like stopping at the Latvia/Lithuania border for pictures.

We booked this tour just a week before we arrived in Riga. The meeting place was easy to find and the minibus was a comfortable journey, easily accessed by me with a walking stick. There was wifi on the minibus and optional QR codes for additional information about the places we were visiting. In addition to this, we were offered commentary on points of interest regarding a diverse range of subjects from sporting achievements of Latvians to the economy, to wildlife, and the health service. We were offered "comfort breaks" and an additional stop at a palace that was now a working university and had a leg-stretch around the grounds. The guide, Yanis, was so friendly and helpful. He never rushed us, saying it was our holiday and we could take our time. He really made the experience more interesting! Highly recommended trip.

Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. He went out of his way to make our experience amazing. Didn't see the sunset due to the weather but still had a brilliant time.

To be honest, except for the hill of crosses, the sights were not that interesting to me. I went in the off season. But i had a great day and the guide was really cool. So still 5 stars to me.

We would highly recommend this trip, great opportunity to immerse yourself in Latvian nature. Fantastic guided walk through tall pine trees around beautiful lakes, over sand dunes to an amazing unspoilt beach. Also very informative guide conveying great knowledge of the surrounding area and Latvian culture.

Great guide! Well planned tour, did not feel rushed. We had so much fun and learned a lot. We also got many beautiful pictures.

Janis was a great guide, he had so much information and was really easy to talk to! I appreciate that we were able to stop at the Latvia/Lithuania border to take a picture and just had different options to stop at various places if we wanted to. I loved each location that we went to and it was a day well spent. I would 100% do it again.

I recently participated in the Riga Old Town Walking Tour and had an exceptional experience. Excellent half day trip with Janis our driver. He told us many interesting stories about the area and various things from the history of Riga. Comfortable drive with a few stops on the way. Hill of Crosses was amazing, so many different ones including one from the pope , nothing like we expected but still very interesting! Definitely worth a visit , also has a gift shop and toilet . Lady was selling crosses outside for 5 euros which we bought and put on a tree, they are so many you feel like you want to add to it !! Would definitely recommend this trip , excellent communication from the company, krista was so helpful!

From the perspective of a couple of Aussies, well worth the trip. When else are you going to experience something like this? The transport was clean and fit-for-purpose. Our guide, Janis was great fun. On time. Courteous and well informed. Really enjoyed this one!

What a fantastic day lead by our brilliant guide and driver Janis! All 3 destinations were amazing, we were impressed with Rundale Palace, we even got to stop for selfies at the border! Janis gave us not only information regarding our destinations but also a comprehensive insight into Latvian history and culture. Would highly recommended this tour.
