- Sarah W0 contributionsA day you’ll always rememberWe had thought about hiring a car and doing this itinerary ourselves, but we’re so glad we decided to book this tour instead. Our guide, Normunds, was not only great company and very likeable, he was also hugely knowledgeable. We learned so much that we’d never have found out without his expertise. One of the highlights of the day turned out to be the lunch (which doesn’t even get a mention in the itinary!), and Normunds good humour and willingness to accommodate any request we had. If you only have a few days in Riga then I thoroughly recommend this tour as a great way of absorbing a lot history, culture and maybe even a beer or two with lunch! The Hill of Crosses is absolutely not to be missed and Rundale Palace is stunning. Thoroughly recommend!Written 19 January 2025
- cans4640 contributionsGreat tour with super hostGreat trip and Normunds is a great guide. The tour gives enough time at all the sites, plus the stop off for lunch is a nice bonus. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Riga.Written 5 December 2024
- X1438QCsarahs0 contributionsFantastic day with a great guide! My husband and I had a fabulous day with Normunds. He was super knowledgeable about the sites we visited and the tour was engaging and well paced. We had plenty of time to see all the things we wanted to and do some shopping. He also took us to his home town, Saulkrasti, and helped us get info for a hike along the Sunset Trail we took the next day (easy day trip from Riga). 10/10 would recommend going on a tour with Normunds. We hope to see him again on our next trip to Latvia!Written 11 November 2024
- suziemcgeeney0 contributionsExcellent experienceOur guide, Normunds, was an excellent driver and willing to impart his knowledge: not only of the venues we visited but of the history and culture along our route. We were able to adjust our itinerary to fit in a couple of extra quick visits. Normands was punctual and the car very comfortable. We recommend Normunds unequivocally.Written 31 October 2024
- Rmin-70 contributionsTours in Riga and LithuaniaI was recently in Riga and booked two separate tours with Normunds (a Riga city tour as well as a tour of Hill of Crosses and some of the nearby palaces). Normunds was fantastic at keeping each tour fun and interesting, as well as adapting the itinerary based on points of interest. Great overall experience.Written 24 October 2024
- Daniel M0 contributionsGreat day in Latvia 🇱🇻 & Lithuania 🇱🇹Normunds and his wife were a joy to be with today. He gave us loads of information about Latvia including history right up to modern day. He also didn’t mind going back to the hotel after we’d forgotten our passports in case they were needed at the Lithuania border. He suggested a lovely place to eat at lunchtime (potato zeppelins 5⭐️) and even offered to drop us at a restaurant nearby at the end of the day, that he’d recommended for dinner. He could not have done more for us and we had a lovely day!Written 22 October 2024

- Alton M0 contributionsGreat host; conforms to what you need/want.Experienced and personable guide throughout the trip. We found that the questions we asked and conversations we started guided the information we got back in return. We liked that. On time, professional, and willing to help with other plans.Written 3 October 2024
- C6976ZLpauly0 contributionsLatvia castles and scenery in 6 hours.Overall, Excellent tour in every aspect. There were four of us (2 couples), and we booked this tour instead of the large-group bus tour from our cruise ship. Normunds was a great driver, and a wealth of knowledge. Yet, he would not overwhelm us with minutia details. His English was very good. The Mercedes van was comfortable and had plenty of room. Normunds was very attentive, and emphasized that this was a private tour, so we could go and visit as we pleased. At the same time he would offer suggestions for specific sites to see and things to do. He seemed to quickly pick up on our interests and pace, and adjust his suggestions accordingly. Beautiful scenery, interesting sites/sights, and great weather contributed further to make it a most enjoyable and memorable experience. Highly recommended!Written 23 September 2024
- TravelingDan19590 contributionsVery nice tourMy wife and I did a private tour with a driver and guide from Buysocial.org. Everything worked very smoothly, the car was comfortable, the two ladies were good company and we had a good discussion on many subjects including excellent information on the tour route. Having this private tour let us set our own schedule which was important to us.Written 17 September 2024
- M4822WChollyb0 contributionsWonderful day with Normunds & our family of 6!Our visit throughout the Latvian countryside with Normunds was absolutely incredible! We were with my parents and our two young children, and he came prepared with a beautiful car equipped with car seats for the kids, and several options of itinerary routes that we could 'choose as we please' to adjust for our day based on our family's interest (and attention level!). Normunds was a wealth of knowledge on Latvia and was a wonderful guide for us in both Latvian (which my father in law speaks fluently) and English (for the rest of us!). Highly recommend any tour with Normunds or his company!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!Written 28 July 2024
- markjQ3456WN0 contributionsShore Excursion of TallinnWe did a half-day shore excursion of Tallinn from our ship. Stanislav was our guide, and he promptly met us at the cruise terminal at the agreed-upon time. We had a perfect "getting acquainted" with Tallinn day. Having our own vehicle, we could see many sights we would not have seen on a simple walking tour of the city. Being an experienced guide, Stan was able to take us to out-of-the-way places that few get to see. We experienced Tallinn through history, stories, sights, flavors, and more. We could not have asked for a better tour!!Written 15 June 2024
- markjQ3456WN0 contributionsShore Excursion from Riga: Hill of Crosses, Rundale Palace, and Bauska CastleWe did this tour as a shore excursion from our cruise ship in Riga. Kristaps was our guide. When our ship was forced to dock at a commercial port instead of the normal passenger terminal, I thought we would not be able to have the tour. With just a quick communication with Kristaps, he was able to adjust and meet us on time at the new port. Kristaps helped us navigate the day perfectly. We spent just the right amount of time at each location--Hill of Crosses, Rundale Palace, and Bauska Castle. When we returned to Riga, a bike race resulted in many closed roads. Kristaps navigated around the closures and got us back to the ship in plenty of time. It was a wonderful day.Written 15 June 2024
- 224tintint0 contributionsWonderful day tour with kind Jurijs as our tour guideA great day tour to explore four castles outside of Riga with a very kind and accommodating Jurijs as both our driver and tour guide in one. He was very informative with all our questions and didn’t rush us in spending time in each of the places. On the castles, we specifically liked more the Cēcis Castle with a guided tour and multimedia film on the history of the castle but all the other castles Sigulda and Turaida are also interesting and worth visiting along with the Araisi lake dwelling site and the ski hill. Bravo and Liels Paldies again to Jurijs. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Written 13 June 2024
- tisma2140 contributionsJust a driverWe thought we would get a tour guide, but what we got was just a driver. He even said he’s “just the driver.” We got little to no information about anything during our trip and he seemed overall disengaged albeit friendly. The description makes it sound like this is a custom tour. It is no such thing. They direct you to the entrance and wait for you to be done. There was an error in the itinerary (no fault of the driver) but he was quick to fix it even though it meant he ended late. Three castles plus a ruins was a bit much for us. I regretted not picking a tour with more diversity in experiences. While the castles were interesting, I would not recommend this tour.Written 30 May 2024
