This is a stunning location and the water activities are real fun with crystal clear water and safe sheltered bay - some of the wildlife attractions and other points of historical interest are looking a little dated and could do with a revamp and the paths are not easy to follow

Hello thank you for taking the time to review. Lochmara is located in the Marlborogh Sounds and been created on a hill. The paths meander over 11 acres of art and nature trails and not in a loop so do recomend good walking shoes if venturing futher than the cafe. The paths are challenging for those unsteady on theri feet and we also recomend walking poles for this. I am please you did bring your walking stick with you

Took the day trip - if I went again I would eat lunch in Picton rather than have to queue for 30 minutes to place an order then wait for a further hour for the meals. The meals were ok - nothing special. Also paid for the underwater observatory- pretty underwhelming and not

Thank you for your review and apologise you were underwhelmed with your day. Life jackets have all been checked and rechecked and replaced where required. Picton and venues around the Marlborough Sounds have always historically been a destination for Summer holidays and when the weather is great everyone comes out to play. The end of December and the first 2 weeks of January are the ultra high season. Wait times for food is displayed and kept updated. I do hope you enjoyed teh rest of your Summer holidays

Great family day out. Very laid back, great cafe restaurant with good options for kids and adults and lots to see while onshore. We took the 10:30am boat over and 3:45 back so around 5 hours there and that felt about right. Beach is safe and great for swimming, kayaking and SUP,
