    Arlington National Cemetery
    Stop: 3 hours
A sobering reminder of the realities of war, the Arlington National Cemetery is a beautiful tribute to over 400,000 service members and their families buried there. Learn about the more famous tombs, like that of President John F. Kennedy. Explore a few surprising graves, like that of famed boxer Joe Louis. The cemetery is even home to memorials commemorating the disasters of space shuttles Columbia and Challenger. Along with a few carefully selected residents like Audie Murphy, your guide will take you to the Tomb of the Unknowns where you may even witness a Changing of the Guard ceremony. Walk these hallowed grounds to learn how the home of Robert E. Lee, whose Arlington House we’ll visit, became one of the country’s largest national cemeteries.

Donna provided a superb tour for us. We had our 12-year-old grandchild with us and she built her commentary around him as well as us so that it was always presented at a level of detail that included us all.
My wife and I have been on many tours over our lifetime and Donna's knowledge, presentation, and professional skills were the best we have experienced which is a very honest assessment and complement.

Booking a private tour for our small group was terrific. Our guide Donna was friendly and knowledgeable about the cemetery. She showed us many interesting grave sites (of famous and not-so-famous people) and was able to provide historical background to their lives. She also went out of her way to show us sites of particular interest to people in our group - so it is worthwhile to let her know ahead of time your general interests. The tour was about 3 hours with just about 2 miles of walking. We would definitely tour with Donna again.

Our guide, Donna Everage, was great. She waited for us when we were a few minutes late and took extra care to accommodate our slower pace along the walk. Donna was very knowledgeable about Arlington and showed us many special markers and the history behind them.

We visited Arlington National Cemetery yesterday and took a private walking tour. This was a fabulous way to experience the gorgeous grounds and learn some interesting facts about a place steeped in history. Our guide, Donna, was thoroughly knowledgeable and passionate and made the experience even better. She kept our teens, 15 and 20, engaged throughout.

We highly recommend this experience. Don’t forget to ask for Donna!

This is a great option for someone who is not familiar with Arlington National Cemetery, or does not have the entire day to explore it themselves. Meghan did a great job in hitting the highlights. We were also fortunate in that we had nice weather and the cemetery was not busy.

I highly recommend this tour! Doug was a fantastic tour guide. He gave us a lot of interesting details and answered all our questions. He made sure we had a great view for the changing of the guard and pointed out many gravesites and details we would have otherwise missed.

We did the semi private (8 people max) guided walking tour, but ended up being just us (4) which was great. Our guide Amanda was knowledgeable, insightful and incredibly friendly. She made sure we made it to the tomb of the unknown soldier in time for the changing of the guard recommending the best vantage point to see the solemn ceremony. She also pointed out several other interesting grave sites and gave us plenty of time to pause and pay our respects to JFK and the Kennedys buried here.
Can not recommend this tour any higher. If you’re lucky enough to have Amanda as your guide you won’t be disappointed.

I had seen Arlington before as a student in high school but this experience with a very knowledgeable guide was simply amazing! There is so much history and tradition that will be missed without the help of an experienced guide. Not to mention the size of the grounds and the need to prioritize. Our personal guide was Donna and she was everything you can hope for. Her knowledge of the site and her love and passion for our fallen made the experience special! We highly recommend a guided tour and if you can request Donna! You won't be disappointed.
