          Great experience
Brenda was a wonderful guide and made our day spectacular. We were able to take breaks as needed and take pictures. Lunch was delicious.

          An Outstanding Lamanai Tour Provider
I had a wonderful experience with this tour provider. The driver was early to pick us up, pointed out some interesting sights during the drive to the river, stored our bags for the day in the van, and then, following the tour, dropped us off at the specified marina in order for us to make the arranged boat transfer by our next hotel. I had a few questions ahead of time about all of these arrangements, and any questions were quickly addressed through messaging. I never waited long for a response. The boat ride up the river with Brenda (hoping I am remembering her name correctly), was a thrill. She masterfully weaved the boat around the river bends and was able to identify many birds. She skillfully spotted two small crocodiles along our route. Make sure you book a tour that includes the river ride. It is well worth it, and since it's a speedboat, you will unlikely be bothered by motion sickness. (I was fine.) Brenda was warm and very approachable. She is very knowledgeable about the area and the ruins themselves, even attending regular conferences to learn about the latest discoveries and theories. Lamanai itself is a magical place. I have been to other ruins and what set this site apart is the approach from the river, the trees that are interspersed around the ruins, making the setting mostly shaded and have a more natural feel, and the lack of crowds. There were a few other groups there, but visits are regulated and I did not feel like I was in a tourist trap. The howler monkeys put on quite a show for us and their unmistakable cries certainly added depth to the experience. Finally, we enjoyed a tasty lunch. As a vegetarian, I had rice and beans, some steamed broccoli, and a taste of cole slaw along with a delicious fresh salsa and tortilla chips.

          80% traveling for 20% touring
If you're arriving to Belize City on a cruise, you have to take a 25 min. water taxi to the port. Then you have to really pay close attention and find your correct excursion line to get on the correct bus. The bus ride is about 1 hour and 10 minutes then a 30 min. boat ride. All of this for a 1 hour tour of the Mayan ruins. It was neat but felt very rushed.

          CAVE TUBING!!
If you’re visiting Belize and looking for an adventure that blends breathtaking scenery, fun, and fascinating history, look no further than cave tubing with Naz and Abner! These two incredible guides made this experience absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, Naz and Abner greeted us with warm smiles and a wealth of knowledge about the area. They made sure we were comfortable, safe, and fully equipped before leading us on a short but beautiful hike through the lush jungle. Along the way, they pointed out medicinal plants, local wildlife, and even shared intriguing stories about Belizean culture and Mayan history. The water was refreshing and the views were breathtaking.

          Amazing Cave tour in Belize
Amazing Cave tubing experience. It was so much fun for the whole family. Abner and Naz were really informative not only about the caves but also about Belize. Loved learning about all the nature on our walk to the cave.

Good for a half day kayak
Had a good time the guide was informative and it was easy to meet up with him. Remember it’s at a preserve so you have to pay per person to get into the park as well.

True Jungle Cruise to Mayan ruins
A true jungle cruise leading to an otherwise very secluded Mayan Ruins. Amazing tour led by Brenda who grew up in Lamanai. Lots of history and culture, very knowledgeable guide. We saw an alligator, bats, monkeys, scorpion, and tons of different birds. Lunch was delicious. Very cool experience.

What an absolutely fun and educational time!!!
We had such a blast on this excursion. Our guides Fabulous and Fred are obviously very proud of their country and spent the hour drive to the caves filling us in one everything from history to economy to wildlife. The Kayaking was not extremely difficult but you will still get a bit of a workout. Do be ready for a 30 minute hike including some river crossings to the starting point of the adventure, but again, our guides were teaching us about the local wildlife all along the way. Do wear watershoes or some sort of sandal that has a back strap on them (or you can rent some Crocs for $3). I would also suggest bug spray and a waterproof camera. The bugs aren't bad but I'm the type any mosquito for 10 miles will find me. We will definitely be doing this again! One note as we usually travel with our younger children is that I would not chose this until they were maybe 12 or so in age as the hike may be a bit much as well as the paddling.

          Great tour, excellent guide
We had a great time on our tour of Lamanai! Our guide, Brenda, was very kind and knowledgeable. As local as they come - she grew up right next to Lamanai - she had lots of insight to share and kept a nice pace, letting us all explore and spend time as we wanted. The provided lunch was great and the boat ride was fun to see crocodiles, turtles, etc.

Excellent! Fun & Educational! Highly recommend!
Abner was a wonderful kayaking guide for the tour through the caves! He knows them like the back of his hand. My husband & I chose a tandem kayak & it was great. He led us through the wide, well-kept road through the jungle that took about 35 minutes to get to the caves. Abner stopped along the way to show us specific trees & plants & how they grow and reproduce. He’s very well-versed in the jungle and the area. See pics on this website. They look like the ones we took. On the ride there, Feválius Castillo told us SO much about the history of Belize, the flora/fauna & covered many, many topics of interest. He’s a wealth of information! He was funny & entertaining & made the hour in the van fly by. So knowledgeable! Both guides were top notch. Highly recommended!

A trip to the ruins was definitely not ruined
One of the highlights to our stay in Belize. Our guide Brenda, having grown up in Lamanai, was very knowledgeable about the ruins and an ace boat pilot. Our other guide, who took us to the boat, was also very helpful.

Fantastic & informative tour with Chicho!
Chicho was an excellent tour guide! He contacted me about the pick up the day to confirm the time and location. He was very enthusiastic and informative about the history of the area and the many landmarks. We were curious about local food and drink and plants and Chicho answered all of our questions with gusto! I told him I was hoping to see a hummingbird and he drove us next to a large hedge of some kind of plants where they tend to build their nests and I was about to see the tiny nest and a hummingbird flitting around nearby! We also enjoyed the stop at the rum distillery for some samples and a look at some historical artifacts, the Belize sign, historic buildings and the lighthouse.

What a great tour!! We were picked up at our hotel by our driver/guide Fab who gave us a history of the area on the 30+ mile drive out to the boat landing where Amir was waiting to take us up the New River to the temple site. The boat ride took a little over an hour. Along the way, Amir would stop to point out various wildlife including crocodiles and many different types of birds, including a rare sighting of a Jabiru stork, the largest bird in Belize. Once we arrived and Lamanai, Amir gave us an excellent guided tour. He is extremely knowledgeable having guided there for many years. After the tour, we had a delicious lunch of chicken, rice and beans, and plantains before Amir drove us downriver in his boat where Fab was waiting to take us back to our hotel. One of the best tours we have been on!

          Kayak Excitement
What a fabulous tour! Walking through an untouched jungle/forrest and then kayaking through the caves with only the light on our helmets to see was truly a once in a lifetime experience. One of the three Abner’s on the bus regaled us with the history and culture of Belize. My only complaint are these: first, there was a lot of waiting around before we got started, and then we were one of the last tenders back to the ship. Second, the reminder emails about where to meet should have also mentioned recommended footwear, towels, and water proof camera bags. Most of us signed up months ago and forgot about those details. We did save some money booking independently instead of through the cruise ship. Highly recommend this adventure—choose being independent in kayaks rather than being tied up to a bunch of other inner tubers.

VIV provided a great excursion for my two sisters and myself. We came in on the Caribbean Princess and immediately were able to find a VIV rep in a red shirt and he escorted us right to our transport vehicle, which was a car with our driver and just us. We were on our way within about 10 minutes. We had an amazing time with our driver George. George was an amazing tour guide. He was very knowledgeable about Belize, the history, the landscape, the people. He was personable and friendly and engaging. It was about an hour long drive inland to get to the zip line, but the time went by very quickly. Zip lining was not very busy and we got on very quickly. This was my 3rd time zip lining and it was fun and comparable to the others that I have done before. We did 7 lines all together, with the longest going across some water. We had two tour guides the entire time, Desmond and Daniel and their first priority was safety. The experience was very, very fun. Both of my sisters had not been zip lining before and they loved it! When we were finished we got a wonderful lunch of bbq chicken, rice and beans and coleslaw. It was very good. We sat and ate with George and had great conversation. We had an hour ride back and again George was a delight.
We loved our 3.5 hour tour and would recommend to anyone!
