Stop At: Lamanai Archaeological Reserve, Belize

Taking a stroll through a place that will remind us of the “River Reptile” a place known as Lamanai. This site is located along the banks of the stunning New River. Lamanai is the Mayan word for "Submerged Crocodile". A major attraction of this site is the well-preserved stela of a Mayan ruler emerging from a crocodile headdress. For nature lovers a spectacular adventurous way to travel to the site is through the lagoon by means of boat. Numerous species of water birds and reptiles live along the river and lagoon. Also, few interesting flora and fauna to be seen at the Lamanai reserve.
