- F1803PDjoanr0 contributionsA must do when in Kona5/5 experience! Crew was super knowledgeable and friendly. Boat was beautiful and trip was super comfortable. Bathrooms were super clean and easy to get in & out of. Food delish. Saw some whales & captain took a quick detour so we could get a better view. Highly recommend!Written 13 February 2025
- J1828UFrosss0 contributionsIncredible exxperienceWe saw so many manta rays and it was an incredible experience. The crew was knowledgeable, helpful, and very aware of levels of snorkelers and swimming capabilities. I would do this tour again in a heartbeat.Written 12 February 2025

- travellin_mom180 contributionsGreat afternoon snorkel trip.It was a perfect snorkel cruise. We saw whales on the way to Kealakekua Bay and spinner dolphins at the end of our snorkel experience. The snorkeling was great. The crew very friendly.Written 11 February 2025
- 342stephaniee0 contributionsSnorkel with Manta RaysThis was the best adventure we did on the island of Hawaii. The crew was great, helpful and fun. I had not snorkeled before, and I was totally comfortable. Water was perfect temperature. We saw about 9 Manta Rays and lots of fish. You need to do this!!Written 10 February 2025
- B8136SBandyd0 contributionsLast great hurrah!Awesome experience on the 3-hour morning snorkel and sailing tour. We saw a whale off in the distance and a school / group of dolphins swam with us for about 15 minutes - there were 7 of them jumping, spinning, etc. So cool! We were originally scheduled for Friday Jan.31 but due to fears of storm aftermath, I switched us to Saturday, Feb. 1st. The weather was perfect - so glad Sea Paradise was able to get our group moved. This was our “last hurrah” in beautiful Hawaii before flying back to the “frozen tundra” of Wisconsin. Perfect way to end our family vacation. Highly recommend!Written 7 February 2025
- 298pennyr0 contributionsGreat snorkelingThere were four in our party and all of us had a great time. Capt. Troy and his crew were very attentive to everyone. A good breakfast and lunch that they worked hard to prepare and then clean up. The ride down and back gave us such great views of the shoreline as well as whales and dolphins. Snorkeling was excellent. Two locations with different reef structure. Again, the crew was great in getting us prepared to snorkel and being with us in the water. I highly recommend Sea Paradise.Written 4 February 2025
- pammK9832CI0 contributionsAmazing snorkeling experienceIt was great snorkeling and the crew and captain were phenomenal. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting a fun time on the open water.Written 2 February 2025
- 420jonathanc0 contributionsSnorkeling with Sea Paradise. My wife and I did the morning sail and snorkeling tour. Beautiful catamaran boat, only 3 yrs old. Plenty of space. Great snorkeling equipment. We sailed/motored South for 45m to Keauhou Bay. The reef was fantastic. The fish were everywhere. We saw humpbacks and dolphins along the way. The crew was AWESOME, led by Captain Troy with Tracy, Bo and Denali as boat mates. Best day on the island so far. Highly recommend this event.Written 2 February 2025
- M1864JErobertb0 contributionsBest fish viewing in HawaiiThis is our go to snorkel tour. We return almost every year to revisit our favorite fishy friends. Captain and Crew are very helpful, refreshments hit the spot, and the snorkel spots visited show off the fish to the best possible advantage. On this trip we had brief glimpses of Whales and dolphins, and excellent fish sighting, even though rough weather the previous several days threatened to make the water less clear than usual. The weather did allow us to proceed under sail alone while we ate our lunch.Captain Cook has the best snorkeling on the Big Island, and possibly the entire state.Written 2 February 2025
- 265ashleyz0 contributionsSpectacular Manta Ray EncounterGreat experience, a must do on the big island! Crew was awesome and felt comfortable and safe the whole time. Excellent up close views of the manta rays, truly spectacular!Written 31 January 2025
- C6503YLsteveg0 contributionsA trip that will not be forgotten soonWow what a fantastic experience! Beautiful catamaran with a wonderfully attentive crew. The trip’s highlights were the crystal clear water of the secluded cove that we went to, the spectacular scenery along the way and the whales that came close enough to see them clearly. Oh, did I forget to mention the spinner dolphins that came by to leap into the air to give us a truly memorable water show? We will return next year.Written 30 January 2025
- B2918GJrichardl0 contributionsWowAn amazing experience made even better by the friendly, fun staff. The Sea Paradise team was efficient, made you feel safe, but also made sure you enjoyed yourself. Being out with the Manta Rays was once in a lifetime, bucket list kind of experience! Dont miss it and choose Sea Paradise.Written 28 January 2025
- BayArea850 contributionsFun Catamaran snorkel trip!Took the morning snorkel tour to Captain Cook's monument. Boat is pretty new, and is a catamaran which does show wave motion for those with motion sickness. Benches under shade and plenty of room to stow gear. Fun to sit on the net in front, close to the water. 2 bathrooms below, very clean! Crew was energetic and informative - Captain Troy, Josh, Noi and Erin. They served orange slices and pastries on the way out, light lunch (sandwiches served by crew), and had an open bar. Usually 2 snorkel spots, but we stayed at Captain cook's in 2 areas which was still good. Lots of coral and fish to see! 45-50 minutes per area to swim around. 1 crew was on a paddle board watching us. Gear was clean. Fresh water shower to wash off. On the way back we sighted a young whale who breached multiple times for us! Sea Paradise leaves from the same dock as it's competitors down the street from the Outrigger, park on the street or small lot. Public bathroom across the street. Highly recommend this tour!Written 25 January 2025

Went out on both the day snorkel and the night Manta Ray trip. The day trip was well put together, sailed/motored to the first snorkel spot which was a deeper reef snorkel. After about 45 min in the water it was time to move to Capt. Cook snorkel spot. This was more of a wall reef snorkel, closer to the rocks with plenty to see. After this snorkel it was time for the deli sandwich lunch and drinks. The food was good, the crew was great at taking care of all your needs. After lunch the crew set sails and we actually sailed for about 30 min. Boat is very spacious and well kept up. After arriving back at the docks, Captain Adriane informed us that if you book a second trip there is a nice 20% discount. This leads to the second trip, we booked by phone and they verified we were on the boat earlier so provided the 20% discount on the Manta Ray night snorkel. Again, the boat was in great shape, crew was more than helpful and engaging. We fitted for wet-suits and loaded onto the boat for the quick trip to Manta Town. Once there the crew explained the process and the history of why the Manta's are in this area. Once boat was secured to the mooring, we loaded into the water to observe the Manta's first hand and close up. We were delighted with several extremely close passes from the Manta's while they were feeding on the plankton illuminated by the flood lights used to attract them. Both trips were well worth the money spent, especially the Manta trip, pretty much a once in a lifetime experience.

Sea Paradise provided a fantastic snorkeling cruise experience. The comfortable sailboat, combined with the personalized service and beautiful snorkeling location at Captain Cook, made for a memorable day.
The boat itself was well-maintained and spacious, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all passengers. The small group size meant that we had plenty of room to relax and enjoy the scenery.
The snorkeling at Captain Cook was absolutely stunning. The clear waters and abundant marine life made for an unforgettable experience.
Instead of pre-made sandwiches, the crew was accommodating and allowed us to customize our lunch orders. The food was delicious and satisfying, providing us with the energy we needed for our snorkeling adventure.
The cash bar after snorkeling was a great addition. The reasonably priced drinks were well-made and a much-appreciated treat after a day in the water.
Pros:
• Comfortable and spacious sailboat
• Small group size
• Beautiful snorkeling location at Captain Cook
• Personalized lunch service
• Reasonably priced cash bar
Cons:
• None to report.
Recommendation: We highly recommend Sea Paradise for a fantastic snorkeling cruise experience in Kona. The combination of a comfortable boat, excellent snorkeling, and personalized service makes it a top choice for visitors to the Big Island.

My favorite things:
1) fun staff delivering history tidbits in an engaging way. Made you feel like part of the family.
2) best bartender. We tried his old fashion, Mai tai, and margarita and highly recommend these delicious cocktails (bring your credit card). Pop and water available for free.
3) we saw dolphins swim by the boat as we sailed back.
The crew is awesome and set a fun but safe mood for the sail and snorkeling. It’s nice to have lifeguards in the water while you snorkel as well as staff watching from the boat.
Our party had 3 adults and a preteen. The catamaran is large and easily fits the 45 capacity without feeling cramped. It also allows sunshade to limit sunburning (reef-safe sunscreen was easily available on ship and they’ll help review any sunscreen you bring aboard for reef appropriateness in a non-judgmental way.) the Sea Paradise crew were amazing.
We took the am deluxe snorkel and had fresh orange slices and pineapple with muffins for breakfast. They also offered tea and coffee and water. They had ginger chews to help prevent motion sickness (not a big issue that day). Lunch was sandwiches assembled to your liking by staff, chips, and side salad. Snorkeling was nice and we saw plenty of fish despite it being a more overcast day. The water was cold for my sister and preteen so they didn’t last as long but still had a great time. Snorkel gear was clean and in good repair.
We drove from the Kohala resort area and there is traffic into Kona between 7-8 am so definitely allow enough time to arrive, park on the street, and walk down to the dock.
This was the highlight of my Hawaii vacation and a time I could feel joy enjoying the ocean and kicking back. Mahalo!

A fabulous experience. The catamaran itself was a fine vessel and there was ample space for the 38 passengers on board. Captain Mike and his crew were excellent and intended to everybody’s needs and were extremely safety conscious. We were able to see both the reef that was protected and a reef that was not and was exposed to many kinds of fish. Just a super experience. Great snorkeling.

None of the larger boats or smaller Zodiac-style boats appealed to us. Great crew that was having fun while really taking care of everyone. They had a real eye on safety and also son everyone enjoying their time on the boat. You can feel the ohana with the crew; they made everyone else feel it too. I can't say enough positive things about the crew, the company, and the entire trip.

We tend to go on a catamaran snorkel trip anywhere we go to the beach for vacation from the Caribbeans, Mexico, and Hawaii.
With that said, this was the best trip we have ever had. The two-year old custom boat is incredible with the layout, netted hammocks and even the bathrooms are clean and spectacular.
We went to 2 areas including the Captain Cook monument and the snorkeling was the most incredible places with the reef and varied amount of beautiful fish. It was clear and easy to get relatively close to the reef. It was like we were watching a thriving ocean city, full of life, hustle and bustle. Yet it was very peaceful and mesmerizing. Several schools of fish were not shy and swam very close to me. In addition, we saw a manta ray and dolphins.
The crew was friendly, helpful and cohesive and I appreciated the extra care and guidance they provided on safety. The snorkel equipment provided was also high quality and fit nicely on my face without fogging up or getting loose. Food and drinks were delicious.
Looking forward to coming back and snorkeling again.

We had such a wonderful day! The crew were very nice and very informative. We had plenty of time to snorkel and we did two stops. The drinks were delicious and lunch was very good and personalized to your taste. We saw a group of spinner dolphins and the captain stoped for us to watch them. The boat was easy to walk around and it wasn’t too crowded. I have been on other snorkeling trips and I would rate this one as first class. We liked this company so much we booked a night manta ray trip with them and they gave us a discount for return customers!

Great experience! This package is a bit pricier than a lot other ones like this but the boat was so nice, crew so friendly and helpful - I absolutely loved our experience! It was very nice that the boat wasn’t too crowded. We had two snorkeling stops, saw plenty of fish and eals. Crew was knowledgeable and even shred with us local stories and legends, it was super interesting.

Overall, a worthwhile adventure. Snorkeling visibility was not the best, but that is the fault of the recent storm. The crew was informative and accommodating, despite the large group on board (be wary that it can get a bit packed). We were lucky to see a pod of whales on our tour, so it's definitely worth a trip out during different times of the day. Also important to note that parking was difficult, so plan to arrive a little earlier as it can be a zoo with all the other tours heading out at the same time.

Aloha Arya,
Thank you for leaving us a great review. We are glad to hear that even if the visibility of the ocean wasn't too friendly on that day you still managed to enjoy your trip and indeed you are lucky enough to see a pod of whales too. We highly appreciate you for recognizing our professional and friendly crew. We hope to welcome you again onboard! Safe Travels!

We are on the Big Island with a group of seven. Some of our group had been on snorkeling excursions and some were brand new to the Big Island and snorkeling in general. We could not have planned or asked for a better experience. Captain Tony and his Crew, Joshua, Jesse, and a young lady whose name escapes me(sorry) were fantastic hosts. They were very upbeat and provided all of the guests a wonderful trip. The snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay is outstanding. Deep blue waters, crystal clear and an amazing amount of marine life. We never felt rushed or pushed by the crew and we stopped in two separate areas to snorkel. The crew also takes the safety of their customers seriously and were very alert on where all of us were at and if anyone needed assistance. They took the time and provided aid to a group of novice kayakers who had overturned their kayak and were struggling to get back in the kayak. The continental breakfast(fresh fruit and Danish) and the lunch(meat and cheese fresh made sandwiches) with chips and drink were perfect for this excursion. The trip back to the harbor was at slow speed to allow for enjoying the views, talking about the snorkeling and having a beverage or two! Special shout out to Joshua for providing some excellent insight in to Hawaiian history. The seven of us would highly recommend this excursion to anyone who wants to have an excursion to remember. Mahalo to Captain Tony and his crew on the Sea Paradise.
