      Fun Day at the Falls
The falls were really relaxing. Everyone enjoyed including the children. There were many opportunities for pictures. We only wish we had packed a lunch to sit and enjoy after the day of exploring.

One of the best ways to spend a day
Eric and his guides run an amazing rappel tour. If you are new to climbing, you will feel safe and get to experience the breathtaking beauty of a waterfall from a whole new perspective. If you have climbed/rappelled expect a beautiful and one of a kind run, based on the water levels of the river it can get EPIC.

      Amazing!
The scenery was amazing, and we got to swim around the waterfall, which was so fun. I highly recommend it, or anyone who can hike 1/2 mile on a grassy path.

      Something for everyone
My wife and her sister swam at the falls. My son, his wife, and my brother in law enjoyed the trails. My mobility issues kept me at the lodge where I spent the day painting watercolors.

Unique class with great information and delicious food
We had a terrific time touring the community farm, enjoying some superb coffee brewed by a real expert, and especially cooking with vegetables, herbs, and greens that we picked ourselves. Aidan, our guide and chef, was a font of interesting information about farming, plants, local activities, and of course cooking. We started by making our own chili oil with spices and herbs, then made an adaptation of tom kha soup with forbidden rice and loads of vegetables. It was full of complex flavors and absolutely delicious. I think everyone in the class had seconds. Along with everything else, we had a chance to take a short hike on the grounds to a lovely lush waterfall. This was truly a unique experience. Thank you to Aidan and everyone else we met, all of whom were lovely.

The views were amazing! We went first thing in the morning and we were the only ones there. I couldn’t believe it! Unfortunately it rained before we got there and we couldn’t swim or kayak that day. But we’re were already expecting that. We were given a refund on the kayaks right away. It was fine that we couldn’t swim in the water though because the area was just stunning. We stayed for a few hours and just enjoyed everything. We will be coming back again closer to summer to enjoy it again. It was extremely easy to get to as well. About a 10 minute drive to downtown Hilo. The drive up to the falls is equally beautiful there is also a little farm right before you get to the waterfall that has a gift shop. The photos I posted don’t due the waterfall justice.

      Serene and relaxing experience
We found out about the day pass by accident and we felt so lucky. We were literally the only two there for hours enjoying the waterfall and paddle boarding. Such a serene and relaxing experience.

      Amazing Hawaii
This place is just amazing ! Cannot get over how beautiful and how polite everyone is on the Hawaiian Islands. Visited all the islands on a 14 day cruise from Long Beach CA. Rented a car on several of the islands, could not afford the excursions off the ship.

      Great customer service, beautiful place!
We did the farm to table tour and cooking class and it was amazing! Learned so much and met awesome people. Later we walked through the bamboo forest and to the waterfall which was spectacular. I had an issue with my car while there and Christophe, the property owner, went above and beyond to get it taken care of while we enjoyed our activity. We’ll definitely be back!

      Not Worth the Money
I hate leaving meh reviews, but sadly this experience is just not worth the cost. The experience is not really a class- it’s more you pick ingredients from the farm and help prep the food for the host to cook. Overall, we spent about an hour cooking, while the rest of the day was other stuff (coffee, coconuts, etc.). That said, Ben and Hut were wonderful and fun to interact with! The farm is beautiful, and the experience was overall pleasant. Just not worth it for the steep price tag.

Sitting by the falls, eating locally grown foods prepared by chef Rachel was the highlight of our visit. She has a knack for combining spices to make the most of each course. I especially enjoyed the soup course and the salad which was unlike any beet salad I ever had.
And, she has a friend who is a gourmet baker. Save room and if you are lucky, she might be serving flourless chocolate cake when you visit.

Every dish prepared by Chef Dominique Savage was absolutely delicious and all the wine pairings were perfect. One of the best farm-to-table meals we have had. The setting was beautiful and we had such a fun evening with Chef Dominique and our table companions. We highly recommend!

The setting is lovely. The highlight of our stay was our chef’s dinner with Lisa as our chef. She provided wonderful attention to detail and descriptions of the meal and it’s local sourcing. We had a delicious ‘uala (sweet potato) soup (harvested from her garden) and ‘uku (blue green snapper). It is pricey, but worth it.

It was a disappointing experience. It’s a beautiful setting and the food wasn’t bad, but the meal is terribly overpriced and rushed. We paid $250 per person (including a wine pairing). Starting at 6 30, we were then rushed through 7 courses so that the staff could leave at 8. For $50 per adult, we were provided with 2 bottles of very average white wine and a glass of sparkling wine. Once the staff left at 8 there was no option to order more drinks (and this was not communicated). Overall it was poor value and we wouldn’t recommend this.

Perhaps others are impressed with overwrought food from far away places. I came for the local fare in Hilo on a farm that was all about an Eco - farm to fork experience. I got duck from New York. Why would I go to Hilo to eat duck from New York? What's the carbon footprint of that? Even the chef was imported from New York. And though I love New York and New Yorkers generally, I prefer to go to New York for that. I'm in Hilo for the Aloha vibe. The dessert was too much as in too much going on, too many ingredients, flavors, and too sweet. All I could taste was sugar. My wine was from France and maybe Argentina - the second did not pair well. I found the whole thing overpriced, over done, and with an attitude. Half the guests were getting soaking wet on the open lanai without a thought to move the table 1' away from the sideways rain. That's $225 and four hours of my time that I'll never get back. If I could have had the soup (but even that main ingredient came from a far away place) and a glass of wine, I would have been good and in and out in an hour for less than $50 including tip. The server/sous-chef even put down classically trained chefs as "a great place for home cooks to learn to cook." He was quoting someone else to be fair. Arrogance is only remotely and rarely acceptable and if and only if you are in fact the best. Do the lunch instead which is truly a farm to fork experience with humble charming people.

At the Inn at Kulaniapia Falls, the only food option, after breakfast, is the Chef's Table dinner. The cost, for a couple, including tip and taxes, was $366. Wine pairing was offered at $69 per person (4 small-pour glasses), which we declined. Wine by the glass is not available. The chef offered to sell us a bottle (which we shared with another couple) for $30, but cash only. Parts of dinner were very good, main dish was disappointing. Certainly not worth $366 (plus wine purchase)

The drive up there goes thru 2 gates, This tells you it will be exclusive and very private. Check in was casual, easy and informative. They give you a quick tour at check in of all available facilities. Room was cozy. Do not expect the Ritz for amenities. But for being next to the waterfall it is outstanding. Bed was comfortable, shower was clean and large. It truly feels like a bed and breakfast in the best setting. You hear the waterfall thru your windows the entire time. We chose to do the Chef's Dinner. It was incredible. The pace was perfect and the food locally sourced and expertly prepared. I would absolutely recommend staying here, but if it is too expensive to stay, at minimum do the day pass. The waterfall and pool to swim in are like nothing you can find elsewhere on the island.

We had a delicious evening, the quality of the dishes is exceptional, the food and wine pairing is perfect.
And what a surprise to discover that chef Lisa speaks French!
She took the trouble to explain the origin of the products, she introduced us to local flavors and quality wines that have nothing to envy of French wines. Fresh and original local products, inventive cuisine, in a dream setting.
Above all, don’t hesitate to book a dinner with her! It’s a very nice experience

This was a very nice evening. My family of four sat with four other guests and had a great meal in a small intimate setting overlooking the waterfall. We all thought that the meal was made with very high quality ingredients and was very delicious. Lisa was our chef and she did an amazing job of explaining what was on our plates and where the ingredients were sourced.

We had a beautiful experience! Every bite was absolutely perfect and thoughtful! The environment was really spectacular as well. I do feel that the wine pairing could have been more intentionally paired, and served in tandem with each course. The meal was perfect and full of so many deep and interesting flavors and combinations! Romantic, intimate and genuine Cheers and thank you
