My first time on a horse and I had an awesome time! I actually booked this activity for mine and my husband's wedding anniversary. My husband has had horseback riding experience and he was excited to see me ride a horse for the first time! We checked in with Heather at Gunstock Ranch. She was cute as a button and had great energy and a personality to match! Our guide was Lucas and he was awesome too! There were only three of us on the ride in addition to our guide so it felt like a private ride. Lucas took us up and around the ranch property which took us up pretty high into the hills. The view was spectacular from up there! The horses were great! You can tell that they are well taken care of! My horse was named Boone and my husband rode Ginley. At one point, Ginley got spooked on our ride but the hubsters took it all in stride. I think I was more scared than he was. My horse didn't seem to want to follow in a single file. But he was easy to ride and very cooperative and just a good boy in general. Lucas was friendly and shared great information with us. I learned a lot about horses on my ride. There is a free petting zoo with goats, a cow and a bull and a few loose chickens. I even found an egg while playing and petting this cute goat. The Silkie white hen was super cute and friendly. I'd never seen one in person. She even let me pick her up. The rooster ... not so much. You can also buy feed for a $1 for the animals. The weather was gorgeous onthe day that we rode. It was a warm day with a nice cool breeze. The ranch is really nice and clean and It's obvious the owners take good care of the animals, the property and the guides. My husband and I would definitely recommend this activity! I'll try to update my review with pictures later!

The views were incredible, horses easy going and great for beginners. Our guide was personable and engaging without being overbearing. It was a beautiful and peaceful way to experience the island’s beauty at the end of the day. We even indulged in some ranch merch because it was super cute and will serve to remind us to slow down a little even when we get back to the hustle of “real life”. Don’t hesitate to hit the “book” button!

The staff here was so amazing with explaining and demonstrating how to get on the horse and explain the different ways to have your horse to stop and to start walking! This horse ride itself was so amazing! The horses are well trained and they know the path to take to keep with everyone! The tutor guy was the best!

Mahalo Gunstock for a wonderful experience. The Scenic Trail Ride was amazing. We rode the trails to the point where it overlooks the ocean. Total Paradise! Thank you Lucas for being our guide. We had an amazing ride at Gunstock Ranch. My partner and I booked an advanced private trail ride and it exceeded all expectations. The horses were fit and forward going and the scenery we rode through was incredibly beautiful. I was very impressed by all the staff and how the wranglers explained how they expected their horses to be treated. Our guide Summer was absolutely fantastic. A guide like her totally takes a normal trail ride to the next level, she was engaging, bright and knowledgeable, and it was clear she enjoyed her work. We felt she made sure we had a memorable experience. I would recommend this ranch to anyone visiting Oahu

The scenery was very nice and the horses buckles and ikaika were chill as well. Everyone working there was helpful, our tour guide Jared knew a lot about the ranch. Although it would’ve been great to get more knowledge about the ranch, if you just want to soak in the nature and bonding either horses it’s definitely a fun experience.

It was such a fun experience and we had the opportunity to take photos and get a tour of the ranch property on horseback. The petting zoo on the property was a fun add. The ride was easy and smooth. The horses are very well trained and well-mannered. Such a fun and memorable activity! Lucas, our wrangler, was a wonderful tour guide.

Absolutely incredible experience at Gunstock Ranch! The advanced ride was an absolute blast—definitely a highlight of my entire trip to Hawaii. The scenery was breathtaking, the horses were fantastic, and the ride itself was so much fun. Huge shoutout to my wrangler, Heather—she was an amazing and talented guide who made the experience even better. Could not recommend this place enough! I’ll definitely be back!

An absolutely glorious way of spending a morning. Cooper was the perfect guide. He was super-conscientious about ensuring that I was comfortable with my horse and the ride (I was). He was knowledgeable about horses, Hawaii, the ranch, and the trails. And he was genuinely delightful company; it was a joy to ride and chat with him. Raider was a wonderful horse for the purpose: calm, strong, well-trained. (Waffles, Cooper's horse, was lovely too. You can tell that the horses here are well cared for). The trails were indescribably beautiful, alive with golden plovers and monarch butterflies. There were calm walks through trees, exhilarating gallops uphill, and stunning views of the North Shore when we made the summit. If you like trail riding, this is a must-do. Even if you don't, the ranch is well worth seeing. My heartfelt thanks to Cooper, Raider, and Waffles for one of the best mornings I've had in Hawaii.

Lucas, our guide was excellent! He shared his knowledge of the area and made sure everyone was comfortable on their horse. The trail was beautiful with both mountain and ocean views.

We had a great experience at Gunstock Ranch. We took our 12 and 8 year old. It was my 8 year olds first time riding on a trail alone. He was very nervous but the guide was great and the horses were very well trained. Cooper was a great guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The view was beautiful! I would definitely recommend Gunstock Ranch to others.

Views were amazing, staff were very friendly, our guide, Cooper, was great! Can’t say enough good things about our experience. We chose the sunset ride for the views, but the weather was much better too. Not too warm and no bugs. So glad we decided on this excursion!
