First, one of our nice office assistants will go over a satellite map of Kailua Bay with you together and show you how to safely navigate the waters.
Second, we’ll show you the best and most scenic places on the islands you choose to kayak to and which areas of bay offer the best snorkeling.
The offshore islands in our Kailua/Lanikai bay are home to the wedge-tailed shear water bird and are designated bird sanctuaries. These bird sanctuaries are closed on Sundays. Permits are require for landing on Moku Nui or on Popoia Island and are sold in our shop for $3 per person. Backrests, dry bags and snorkel sets are optional rental equipment as not everyone needs them.
The beach is a short 5 minute drive from our store, so we provide free foam pads and straps so you can drive your kayak to Kailua Beach or Lanikai Beach.
Once you are the beach, you will be able to kayak in the clear blue water of Kailua beach and enjoy the serenity of paddling among turtles, fish and other marine life as you make your way to the offshore islands. Once on the islands you have opportunities to snorkel, cliff dive and explore large natural tide pools at your leisure before heading back to Kailua Beach.
