About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- D4095EGalanc0 contributionsGreat time in Morocco! We had a wonderful trip to Morroco - it was our first time and we worked with our local planner, Majid. Majid iterated with us on the itinerary and was super responsive by email. He did a great job helping us create the perfect itinerary. The riads and hotels he suggested were super fun for us. And he connected us with our local driver and guide, Mouad. Mouad was great! He drove us all over Morocco seeing the sites and explaining about the local culture and experiences of living there. Mouad was super friendly and helpful. He went out of his way to procure pomegranates, apples, dates or anything else we needed. We are already looking forward to our next trip to Morocco and would gladly use them again!Written 7 October 2024
- 906kevinf0 contributionsWorld Class JourneyIncredible journey through the country starting in Casablanca, to Tangiers, Rabat, Marakesh, Chechowen, Marrakesh, Essouria, Atlas Mountains staying at roads in the various Medinas. We had our own driver who was amazing, and kept us safe, on time and on schedule .Accommodations were from comfortable to world class depending on the location Guided Tours were spectacular, with state licensed professionals. Breakfast was always a treat, and included. Memorable moments including a night in the Sahara in a tent (air conditioning), riding a camel.🐪 restaurants were varied in cuisine and very good to world class Hassan designed a most memorable journey for usWritten 4 October 2024
- charvib20220 contributionsAmazing trip through Morocco with MouadWe had an incredible trip through Morocco. Our guide, Mouad, made sure we were always having fun, adjusting to our independent plans to ensure we had the best experience. As a group of three girls, we always felt safe and comfortable. Mouad constantly shared facts, jokes, anecdotes, and anything else that could enhance our trip. Everything was well-organized, and the entire journey ran smoothly. We could stop along the drive for photos, snacks, or anything else we needed, and Mouad was always there to help. On our way to the desert, we were delayed by flash floods that blocked our route to the camp, but it didn’t feel like a big deal at all. We avoided the flooded areas and had a meal with his family since we couldn’t travel further. It was so lovely and heartwarming to experience that kind of Moroccan hospitality. What could have been a stressful travel hiccup turned into a delightful alternative plan, still aligned with what we wanted from the trip. I loved our time in Marrakech, the desert (my favorite), and Fez. I felt like we truly learned about the rich history of each region while enjoying delicious food and having a lot of fun. I highly recommend heading to the desert (we traveled via Skoura and then to Merzouga), and riding camels to watch the sunset over the dunes. You’ll also witness an incredible starry sky and a stunning sunrise. Other highlights included our cooking class, food tours, ATVing, seeing the oldest university in the world (!!), the leather tanneries, and so much more. A big thank you to Mouad, our guide and driver, for putting up with our shenanigans over ten days and becoming a friend! I would highly recommend this trip to anyone who will listen (I already have been, and I haven’t even been home for a week!).Written 19 September 2024
- 477meharp0 contributionsAmazing Tour of Morocco with fantastic guide Mouad! We had an amazing time on our tour across Morocco! Mouad, our guide and driver made sure we were always comfortable, safe and having fun. He was very flexible to accommodate to our plans, always cheerful and kept us laughing and smiling with his jokes and stories. It was great to see Morocco with Mouad since he was very knowledgable about Moroccan culture, people and the landscape. He was very organized and managed all coordination between hotels, riads, local tour guides etc. on our behalf so that every stop along our trip was seamless and we didn't have to worry about those details. On top of that Mouad was a great photographer and pointed out lots of great vantage points along our roadtrip for us to stop and take photos and enjoy the view. During our trip there was some heavy rain and flooding and Mouad easily adjusted our plans so that we could make the most of our time while avoiding the flooded areas. When we were temporarily stuck in one area due to a flooded river, Mouad took us to have a meal with his family who were very kind and welcoming. Mouad went above and beyond in every regard and our trip would not have been the same without him! Majid was also very helpful in coordinating details ahead of time and planning the trip to make sure we had great experiences at beautiful hotels and venues. The structure of the tour was ideal - it was a good split between time in the cities, exploring the medinas and shopping, and enjoying the natural landscapes of morocco and the beauty of the desert. The guided food and city tours of Marrakech and Fez were incredibly helpful to understand the local history and food traditions in each city. Another highlight of the trip was definitely spending time in the sand dunes at Merzouga where we took a camel trip to a desert camp and also had the chance to do ATV riding in the sand dunes (really thrilling!). Thank you to Mouad and Majid! We highly recommend this experience and will be telling all our friends about it.Written 16 September 2024
- 158deaa0 contributionsGreat Tour!We took a two-week trip in August of 2024, which was organized by Majid. We loved our trip! The itinerary was perfect, with just the right amount of time at each location. The accommodations were very nice, and the local guides were great. Majid did a fantastic job of organizing the whole thing. The best part of the trip was our driver/guide, Ismael. He has the perfect personality for the job: fun, well-informed, and kind. He was a great driver and a very interesting person to chat with during the drives from one location to the next. The whole family missed him on the days we were not with him. By the end of the trip, it felt like he was part of the family. Also, the WIFI in the van was a very nice touch. Overall, we could not be happier with our experience with our tour.Written 2 September 2024
- quanitar20160 contributionsWe fell in love with MoroccoWe would highly recommend ‘Under the Moroccan Sun’ as Hassan helped us at every step of booking our trip. He changed the Riad in a city if we asked him to before our journey started. He would promptly reply to our queries. He even made an effort to come and visit us during our trip and enquire how our trip was going. This journey helped us immerse in the Moroccan culture specially our two daughters 15 and 20 who could not be happier with their trip to Morocco as they found so many things of their interest which never gave them a boring moment. We were assigned the best Guide/driver Mouad who knew the country like the back of his hand. He showed us places and explained the history behind them. He made our trip memorable with his smile and hospitality. He even took us through Tangier which was not originally in our itinerary to Chefchaouen. He took us to visit the local Berber tent in the Sahara where we experienced simplicity of their lives with their open hearts Mouad also booked us our tickets for various sites and local guides to show Medina of Fez and Marrakech and other places. He would always had cold water bottles for our family. He would keep us involved in the trip giving us heads up before we start off the day. Our family loved the dessert and the camel ride over the dunes and our luxury tent stay there. Mouad had informed us that there were some AC problems in our original tents so they moved us to much better ones. It was a pleasure working with the whole team of ‘Under the Moroccan Sun.’ If we can give points out of 10 we will give 11. We think it was the most amazing trip we would ever take.Written 1 July 2024
- lucylW5626OG0 contributionsAmazing trip to Morocco!Under Moroccan Sun helped us plan a wonderful 10 day customized trip to Morocco. Hassan was very responsive in the planning stages and the itinerary he came up with was a mix of history, culture, adventure and nature. The hotels/riads we stayed in were centrally located, exquisitely decorated, clean and very comfortable. Our driver throughout the trip, Ismail, was always prompt, thoughtful, fun, full of stories and provided a lot of insight into the Moroccan culture, people and lifestyle. The guides in each city were similarly knowledgeable and engaging. Everything went smoothly throughout the trip. Highlight of our trip was the camel ride and overnight stay in the Sahara. We also enjoyed Rabat, Essaouira, Marrakesh, the Atlas Studios at Ourzazate … really everything was great. Just go! We brought back a lifetime of memories from our time in Morocco. Highly recommend Hassan and Under Moroccan Sun!Written 21 June 2024
- Q5028GAkristians0 contributionsWonderful combination of desert adventure and sight seeingWe are a family of 5 with boys aged 7, 12 and 14. We did the "Family Caravans Dust" trip across Marrakesh (4 nights), Boumalne Dades (1 night), Merzouga / sahara camp (1 night) and Ouarzazate (1 night). We had a wonderful time. Our coordinator Majid was very helpful throughout and our driver/guide/caretaker/friend Mouad was nothing short of fantastic in how he helped us be comfortable, make the most out of our trip, show us important sights along the way and organize things on the fly - whether it was quad bikes in the desert or - believe it or not - a gluten free birthday cake at the desert camp as a surprise! If we did the trip again we would probably have spent more time in the desert and less in Marrakesh. Otherwise it was perfect. We came away with memories lasting a lifetime. Thank you Mouad and Majid!Written 3 June 2024
- GlobeTrotting6581100 contributionsGrateful to Under Moroccan Sun and Hassan! Before we went to Morocco, we used Hassan as a trip consultant. We did a video call and he was incredibly helpful. All of his guidance paid off and we had a memorable trip! He arranged the best driver Noureddine who picked us up at the airport. His van was spotless, comfortable and he was so friendly and helpful as we had some issues not related to the tour company that he helped us feel so comfortable and we were able to recover quickly and had the best trip! I can’t recommend Hassan and Under Moroccan Sun enough-it made our travels magical!Written 26 May 2024
- 830garrettg0 contributionsAll Out Morocco!10 Days, Casablanca - Rabat - Fes - Merzouga - Ait Benhaddou - Imlil - Essaouira - Marrekech. Single traveler. It's you and the guide cruising around Morocco stopping where you want and making on-the-fly adjustments to the itinerary as you see fit. Even better is if you came up with a suggestion, they would give their recommendation on it based on what your overall goal was for the trip. So not only are you tailoring the trip to what you want in real-time, but you're also getting expert suggestions, maximizing the experience. The coolest feeling was skipping the massive amount of tour groups and getting into other places they could not get to or being on your own timeline instead of being in a rush or being delayed. Next is the guide. From start to finish, that guide is with you. My guide for this trip was Mouad; this dude was awesome. He is definitely a people person and can read someone well which is important in understanding what exactly you want from the trip. I'm normally an introverted person so connecting with people can sometimes be difficult, but not with Mouad. I cannot count how many enjoyable experiences we had exchanging stories on cultural similarities and differences, joking around while getting a private tour of a casbah, or just sharing a good meal with one another. Another important detail is he was able to read when my social battery was running on empty and was able to take a step back to let me recharge and be in solitude without me saying anything. He is an exceptional guide that is a true professional in his craft. I cannot recommend him enough. Another piece to this is the network of people and resources he has. Any town you go to, if you needed something, needed to go somewhere specific, or wanted to do something different Mouad was able to make it happen. This is something you absolutely will not get going alone, or with a large tour company. Lastly, as a testament to the true professional Mouad is, he invited me into his home with his family to enjoy a mid-afternoon snack and be in the company his family. While leaving the Sahara I mentioned I wanted to get a haircut. At that time we were getting into the town where him and his family were living. So he arranged for his barber to meet us at his shop at the last minute. Because of this, there was going to be a wait, so he took me into his home where his delightful mother brewed some delicious tea and attempted to feed me until I couldn't eat and I exchanged a few short stories with his parents. They were extremely welcoming and really sealed in that unique experience I was looking for. Because I did not want to delay the timeline too long with an impromptu haircut, I decided to forego the Saharan haircut, but the memories I made with Mouad and his family will be one for the books. I could go on about how awesome Mouad is but the bare minimum you need to know is if you're going to Morocco, you need to use this guy. You will not regret it.Written 18 May 2024

- J2779XTlaurenk0 contributionsWonderful trip!Hassan planned an absolutely wonderful trip for my friends and me. The itinerary was well thought out and provided a wide variety of learning experiences - from walking tours in all of the cities, to a cooking class, to a hamam experience. Our driver, Ismail, was kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and most importantly safe. Each of the local guides possessed a deep knowledge of Moroccan history and easily developed rapport with us. I could not be more pleased with this trip!Written 3 April 2024
- 287alisonp0 contributionsAn incredible introduction to Morocco!Friends of ours recommended working with Under Moroccan Sun and after spending two weeks touring Morocco with the company we were delighted with the choice! Hassan (the founder of the company) helped us to plan an agenda tailored to our interests, and Ismail was an incredibly welcoming host, tour guide, and translator in addition to his role as a driver. I’ve listed some highlights of the trip below: - Under Moroccan Sun organized high-quality walking tours to introduce us to each area we visited. In several cases, the guides had grown up in the area we visited which added a personal touch to the tour/gave us a local perspective - Ismail was an incredibly warm host and took the time to get to know our family’s interests (including art, outdoor adventures, and good food) and gave us personalized recommendations for how we could spend our free time in each city, highlighting local shops, scenic running routes, and restaurants we might enjoy. Ismail also did a great job of breaking up long drives with interesting stops and delicious snacks, including fresh oranges and dates. - Everywhere we stayed (from riads located centrally in the medinas of big cities to a luxurious desert camp) was beautiful and had great service.Written 15 March 2024
- virginiahutauruk0 contributionsAmazing time and service! We had the best time with both Hassan (the founder and our driver). I reviewed at least 6-8 other tour companies and chose them because Hassan is very responsive and gave the best value overall. Highlights of our trip: - Luxury camp in the Sahara desert - La Maison Arabe hotel in Marrakesch - The whole roadtrip was so scenic Lastly, Hassan our driver is amazing. Many days we were driving long distances up to 10 hours and he drove very well. Incredibly patient and also flexible. Morocco itself is one of the best countries I’ve visited - great people, food and sights. Definitely recommend this company!Written 25 January 2024

I took an 11 day trip to Morocco with my two adult children to explore our Moroccan heritage. Hassan (the owner of Under Moroccan Sun) helped us plan the route and made sure to include the important spots we wanted to visit, such as the house my father grew up in. Communication with Hassan was fast and very professional. Changes to the itinerary were made with ease. Hassan booked us beautiful, different in character clean riads in every city. The complementary breakfasts were amazingly delicious. We walked in the old medinas, explored the souks (the outdoor markets), spent time with local artisans, visited Jewish synagogues and cemeteries, mosques and kasbahs. The Ibn Danan synagogue in Fes, the oldest synagogue in Morocco, was one of my favorites. We drove the Middle Atlas mountains, and the scenic views and colors were breathtaking. We walked a luscious green track in the Ouzoud falls and visited a family in El Bahlil cave home. Hassan’s tour guides spoke good English, they were very knowledgeable and made sure to give us enough time to explore. Our driver, Mouad, was an excellent and skilled driver who always arrived on time, ready to go with a big smile. I was very touched by the fact that he took the time to locate the house my father was born in, prior to our arrival in Morocco. The apartment is not occupied and he wanted to make sure someone will be there to show it to us when we arrive. Mouad fulfilled every request we had. We loved driving and listening to music together. He very quickly became a family member. We just returned home and can’t wait to plan another trip with Hassan.

Under Morrocan Sun did our tours in Marrakech and Casablanca as well as our transfer from Marrakech to Casablanca. Booking online was easy and hassle free. Hassan responded promptly to our questions/requests. He provided a formal itinerary with the pricing. Once agreed, he sent us a secure link to process payment. Hassan sent us an email with the driver/guide's name, phone number and pick up time the day before our first tour. He also followed up with another email to make sure we were satisfied with the tour, guide, etc. Guides were professional and knowledgeable. Ismael, our driver was outstanding. He was nicely dressed, friendly and shared lots of information about places and traditions. He was careful and drove safely. The vehicle was in good working condition. Overall a great experience. Highly recommended Under Morrocan Sun.

My wife and I recently returned from our 8-day trip to Morocco, all organized by Hassan with Under Moroccan Sun. We found Under Moroccan Sun through a Zicasso recommendation, and from emailing back and forth with a few different companies, the choice was clear that we should go with Hassan. He was great at responding quickly and took note of all our preferences to ensure that we had a great trip - and we did! Also, the price that he quoted was competitive and definitely fair for all that we experienced.
Hassan organized every detail of our trip, from our experiences and local tours to our accommodations. He organized a tour our tour that started in Casablanca, then we made our way to Fes (via Meknes and Rabat) and on to Marrakech (with a one-day stop in Bin El Ouidane), ending with a night in an Agafay Desert camp. We could see Hassan's personal touch in every day of the tour. For instance, my wife was greeted by beautiful welcome flowers in Casablanca and Fes - a very nice touch that she appreciated!
For our accommodations, we were promised to be treated with luxury, and what we received surpassed our expectations. In Casablanca, we stayed at the centrally-located Hyatt Regency, then in Fes at the Riad Salam, with its beautiful mosaics and courtyards. After our stay in Fes, we were greeted to my favorite hotel of all - the Widiane Suites & SPA, where we were welcomed by some of the nicest people we have ever encountered while traveling. The resort is set one of the most beautiful lakes and, best of all, we literally had the entire lake to ourselves. We rented some time on jet skis, and we were the only ones out on the water - talk about luxury! The resort staff left us feeling like movie stars.
At Hassan's suggestion, we stayed at La Maison Arabe in Marrakesh, which was my wife's favorite accommodation. The atmosphere was made of luxury and relaxation. During our second day in the city, my wife was treated to a traditional hammam spa session, and we both took a cooking class with the hotel, which was entertaining and informational. For our last night, we rode camels to the White Camel luxury desert camp, where we experienced a calm night in the Agafay Desert. We would highly recommend staying at any of our accommodations and that you take Hassan's suggestions to heart, as he definitely knows what he is doing.
In each city that we visited, we had a local guide to take us on an informational city tour. We even had one guide who took us on a hiking tour around Ouzoud Falls, which was a lot of fun. Overall, our absolute favorite thing about our visit to Morocco was our main guide/driver, Hamid. We have visited over 30 countries on all seven continents, and Hamid is the best guide we have ever had. He did everything to make sure we were having a great time. We always felt welcome with Hamid, and he also told the best stories that we will always remember. Within the next few years, we would love to return to Morocco and have Hamid as our guide again. If you ever have the chance to visit Morocco, we highly recommend that you go with Under Moroccan Sun and request Hamid as your guide. You will have a wonderful time! Thank you to Hassan and Hamid for such an outstanding trip!

The tour was amazing! Our guide Mohammed was very generous and informative, giving us various historical facts about the areas. I will definitely be coming back here with my children and I've already recommended this tour to my friends in Hong Kong. Thank you very much for the wonderful experience.

Had a fabulous holiday---"under the Moroccan sun". Our guide/driver Abdul was fabulous. Always pleasant, always punctual and always polite. A very likeable and helpful young man. Thank you Abdul for taking such good care of us.
Staying at riads was a different yet exciting experience. Without exception every staff member made us feel most welcome and every request was gladly granted.
Breakfasts became boring and repetitive after a while. Not much of a selection.
The smaller guesthouses en route still offerred us omelettes but this was surprisingly absent in the big beautiful riads we stayed at.
Hassan from Under the Moroccan Sun provided us with a good itenary... so although we travelled the route from Casablanca to Tangier then downwards through Chefchouen to the desert and then onto our final destination of Marrakesh...we never felt too tired as the trip was punctuated with rest stops, sightseeing and overnight stays. To feel the life blood of any country one has to travel through the country and see first hand how the ordinary people live. So in that way i feel totally satisfied.
The night in the Oasis Luxury camp in the desert was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Although it was rather cold it was manageable because we came prepared.
Also enjoyed the Diffa fantasia show in Marrakesh. But it would be better to rather go a bit later if you choose just the drinks and show option . Waited ages for the show to begin.
A word of caution at the souks----be very vigilant. Some very unscrupulous vendors there. Make sure of your purchase and keep your eye on what is being wrapped.
Thank you Hassan. It was a wonderful trip and I would highly recommend :Under the Morroccan Sun" for a hassle free and properly planned tour.
Thank you once again Hassan...and all the very best for the future

We as a group of 6 were met at the port by our guide and driver from Under the Moroccan Sun, he spoke fluent English. We stopped in front of Ricks Cafe but did not go in as it was very early in the day, we then proceeded to the mosque... and our guide Hassan was very knowledgeable and explained it thoroughly, we visited the palace and market too, I left my scarf in the vehicle and they are sending to me

My 3 adult children, my wife and I just returned from a 13 day private tour around Morocco that was set up by Under Moroccan Sun and its owner, Hassan. And I could not recommend Hassan and his company more highly. Prior to our leaving, Hassan spoke with me frequently to be certain that we were setting up the details to our liking and leaving nothing to chance. The pricing that he gave us for the trip was extremely reasonable, especially for 5 adults on a long trip staying at top-shelf hotels. (we did not ask Hassan to set up meal reservations, as we did that on our own, although all but one of the hotels included breakfast.) Hamid, our driver, was an excellent companion, an outstanding driver, and was most accommodating, meeting all of our expectations. With one exception, the accommodations that Hassan and I selected were fabulous, And the pacing of the trip was superb. Hassan even dealt with our last minute requests while we were in Morocco -- like setting up a cooking class for us on less than 24 hours notice -- without a flaw. Most impressive was that he kept in touch with me by email throughout the trip to assure that everything was proceeding to our liking.
Hassan and his company are exceptional and Morocco is an amazing country. Please try to go, and if you do, call Hassan and Under Moroccan Sun. You will not be disappointed.
