About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- AshM3440 contributionsA Moroccan Architectural DelightWalked there from Gueliz. Used phone GOS to navigate, worked quite well inside the labyrinth of the Medina. Bought the ticket at the front. A true Moroccan architectural marvel. Must visit.Written 29 November 2024
- TH19730 contributionsA must see attraction in MarrakechA must see in Marrakech, the architecture is fabulous and paired with the history makes for an insightful view into the past. Top tip, rather than go early as some suggest, try a visit at dusk when the sun has set and the lights are on. The whole place becomes somewhat magical (and with less tourists at night, it's easier to get the special photos)Written 26 November 2024
- SWmuse0 contributionsGet there before the tour groups!Beautiful. Would gave been more beautiful without tourists, many of which just walked into your photo and refused to move even when asked politely. It’s not huge so do get there early, before the crowds start to gather. Stunning tile work, stunning designs, but very noisy when you have tour guides trying to make themselves heard over the general hubbub.Written 16 November 2024
- Wombling_Free_75480 contributionsStunningIt was a mistake to visit at 11am due to the number of tour groups, but we still enjoyed our visit. The architecture and the craftsmanship are stunning.Written 5 November 2024
- S9788OVmohameds0 contributionsSaadian ArchitectureA great example of Islamic 16th century architecture in Morocco. Built at the time of Sultan Abdullah Alghalib of the Saadian dynasty. This college is a highly decorated building consisting of a courtyard ending with a small mosque, a small water bassin probably for ablution and an upper floor with many dormitories and small rooms. This is a highly recommended place to visit and a great pleasure to the eyes.Written 30 October 2024
- CodyDC0 contributionsSurprisingly a nice building but it can get very crowdedWalking from the south of the medina to north took me a while to find this place, but it was well worth it. The architecture was beautiful and I'm sure it would be very peaceful feeling without the crowds in the courtyard. It's worth a visit.Written 26 October 2024
- lovemoroccodesert10 contributionsA Captivating Journey Through History at Madrasa Ibn YoussefVisiting the Madrasa Ibn Youssef in Marrakech was an unforgettable experience that truly transported me back in time. This stunning Islamic school, built in the 14th century, is a marvel of architecture and artistry. As I entered, I was immediately struck by the intricate tile work and beautifully carved wood details that adorn the walls and ceilings. The craftsmanship is absolutely breathtaking and reflects the rich cultural heritage of Morocco. Each courtyard and prayer hall is filled with an atmosphere of peace and reverence. The layout of the madrasa is fascinating, with its serene courtyards providing a perfect place to reflect and soak in the beauty around me. The historical significance of the site, once a center of learning for students from across the region, adds to its allure. The knowledgeable staff and informative plaques helped enhance my understanding of the madrasa’s role in Islamic education. I appreciated the respect for the space, allowing visitors to explore while maintaining its sacred atmosphere. Overall, Madrasa Ibn Youssef is a must-visit for anyone in Marrakech. It beautifully encapsulates the artistic and intellectual spirit of the era, making it a highlight of my trip. Don’t miss the chance to explore this gemWritten 20 October 2024
- 884ferne0 contributionsBeautiful! 100% worth goingWow what a beautiful place. Absolutely 100% worth visiting! Doesn’t cost much to get in! It is quite a popular place for tourists so it’s worth going early :)Written 11 October 2024
- OnAir7571300 contributionsFun to exploreOne of the highlights of Marakesh - an old school with beautiful ornate tiling and great fun to explore all the rooms Highly recommend to visitWritten 9 October 2024
- davidbX9852NI0 contributionsGreatWe enjoyed this a lot. We went with a tour guide in the morning and it was heaving. I'd suggest going without a tour guide at a quieter time, perhaps in the afternoon.Written 1 October 2024
- timw26040 contributionsBeautiful piece of Islamic architectureThis is a beautiful Madrassa that has recently completed a 5 year renovation. It’s a stunning piece of Islamic architecture. Simply beautiful!Written 9 September 2024

- markbW3352HU0 contributionsGreat Museum but beware of Scammers!!Great Museum but beware of scammers!! On our way here we were told by some friendly market seller in the Souk nearby that the Medarsa was closed because of prayers and that it opened at 2pm(it was 11am). He told us that there is an interesting Berber market nearby that specialists in livestock and leather, and a good place to see and take pics as the Berbers are only in town once a month. He seemed to call a passerby (who was in on the scam) but we didn't realize. He took us to this place they call Tannaries where they process the leather (filthy stinking place). After a small tour the man demanded we hand over €20 for the tour. Which we were not told or expecting. We decided to pay it in case they got aggressive as this place was off the beaten track and no one knew we were there. Moral of the story do not follow or trust strangers.Written 18 August 2024
- _htke_0 contributionsA hidden gemReally great place to visit. It's been beautifully restored and has some good info about the old college it was once. Not expensive either. Can get quite busy so getting good photos might be tricky!Written 30 June 2024
