We started the day with a visit to the markets to buy all of the ingredients needed to prepare our meal. After purchasing everything, we headed back to the riad to begin to cook. Karima was a fantastic guide. She was friendly and very informative. She helped navigate us through the markets and taught us the Arabic words for the ingredients we were buying. She was very informative about Moroccan cuisine and made cooking both easy and fun! I highly recommend this activity!

Fun morning with Karima. From shopping at the market and making wonderful tea, to making a tasty tajine and Moroccan salad. Well worth the time.

We booked this tour with such a lovely guide Karima. We firstly visited the souk to buy all of the ingredients Karima was so informative and helpful, and encouraged us to get involved, all of the stall holders were so friendly and very happy to pose for the obligatory photos, walking through the streets with Karima was so much fun, everyone knew her and greater her, she was extremely patient and happy to answer all.our questions, she even indulged as as we squeezed in an unscheduled shopping stop. The road was a beautiful oasis, so cool and quiet. We have done previous cooking tours and don't always get to cook the whole.meal, but with this experience we cooked everything and I am confident we can replicate the menu at home which was delicious. The whole experience was well worth the time, I am really glad we did it and would recommend it.

Had a fantastic day out with the family. Karima was a fantastic guide, we had a great visit to the markets to buy local ingredients and she helped us negotiate for a few extra bits of shopping along the way! The Riad we cooked in was beautiful, food delicious. The staff in the riad were so welcoming and the whole experience was really a day to remember!

Karima was a great host, showing our small group of 3 round the local souks to buy the ingredients for our fresh local salad, spicy chicken & lemon Tajine and juicy orange & date dessert. She showed us the simple process of making mint tea whilst we relaxed in the comfortable Riad, which was surprisingly quiet even though only a minute or two walk from the daily bustle in the heart of Marrakech. This cooking experience is worth a morning or afternoon of anyone's time to break up the hustle and bustle of a Marrakech day.

We really enjoyed our cooking class and visiting the local markets (they were a little quiet due to the current covid situation) We met Karima in the square on-time and made our way to the local market to buy our ingredients. Karima was very friendly with the local market stall holders and whilst there she taught us the Arabic for the ingredients we were purchasing.
We made our way to the Riad and Karima told us about mint tea and talked us through how it is a part of Moroccan hospitality and we all shared a pot of mint tea and some biscuits that are made at the start of a new year (I can't remember the name) .
After this we sat at the table and made our 3 course meal - a moroccan salad, lemon chicken tagine and a fruit salad for dessert. The tagine was the best food we have eaten during our stay in Marrakech. Karima the emailed the recipes, with a few extra recipes, and the showed us back to the square.

All in all a great way to experience a slice of "real" Marrakech and learn a new skill

My daughter and I took a cooking class at Riad Thycas. Our Chef / Teacher was Karina. She was warm, enthusiastic, and extremely knowledgeable about all types of Moroccan dishes.
Karina took us to the souk where we picked out vegetables and a chicken (😱) which we brought back to the Riad. We all cooked together while a lovely Berber man played music for us. The food was delicious!!! This was our favorite experience in Marrakech. We will treasure this memory and we plan to revisit.
Thank you again Karina !!
