About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 662kieronr0 contributionsPerfect experience, perfect location and perfect staff! The BEST experience! From the moment we arrived at Dunes & Desert's beautiful, insta worthy camp, we were greeting with warm, welcoming smiles (And mint tea). We first went on the camel ride where we rode Michael and Shakira. They were such friendly, relaxed camels and clearly well looked after and loved by all the staff (which was very important to us). The ride itself was relaxing and our guide Hicham was incredibly attentive and nice. We stopped for photos and water and a chance to pet Michael and Sharkira. We were incredibly lucky to have just ourselves on the ride too! After the wonderful camel ride, we sat down in camp for a delicious lunch cooked fresh. Plenty of food so you will not go hungry! The camp was so relaxing and we spent a good time taking it all in before we headed out on our quad tour. Now, the quad tour was unbelievable! 2+ hours riding through the Agafay Desert (luckily again, just the 2 of us and our guide, can't remember his name but he was 20 and a credit to the business). I have never witnessed such amazing scenery. We felt like we were the only ones there as the location of the camp is further from the majority of others. After a pit stop, further photos and a video recorded by our guide (which was great), we headed back on our return journey to be met by a sandstorm! This just added to the experience, we loved it and our guide was incredibly professional at all times, getting us back to the camp safely. We can not fault this experience! From start to finish we had the most perfect time! Thank you to all the staff making our day so incredibly memorable. We hope to be back in the future!!Written 7 September 2024
- Dawn P0 contributionsIncredible Day!!!Top notch attentive staff. Fit in a camel ride, lunch and an ATV ride in less than a day and amazing pics taken by their on the scene photographer! Really a great trip of you don’t have more than a day ton experience the desert!! Thank you to Dunes and Desert for a job well done!!!Written 7 September 2024
- KimboC330 contributionsExcellent experienceWe were staying in a hotel just outside marrakech, when trying to book the 2hr buggy experience in the Afgan desert it sadly said we were out of range, on the off chance I emailed and I was told we could be picked up and dropped off for a small extra supplement which we immediately booked and went later that day. The whole experience was amazing, the views were breath taking....our guide Simo was really good when we stopped for a water break he was even telling us some of the history about the surrounding places which was quite interesting. He has a great sense of humour and certainly knows his routes out there...amazing!! When we was out there it seemed like a totally different world, we even had pictures done which we purchased at a really reasonable price as promised within 2 days they had been sent to my email which I could from there download and keep. On return from our excursion we were dusted down by air that was entertaining we then ate pancakes, drank mint tea under a canopy all staff were super friendly we had an excellent time. Hoping to return to morroco again next summer for sure we will come and do a buggy tour again. Many thanks 😊Written 24 August 2024

- FTrinder0 contributionsFun in the desertFabulous experience in the Agafay Desert. Very well organised from prompt pick up at our villa to and excellent guide and tour. Simo, our guide, was brilliant, carefully explaining to our teenagers how to use the Quad bikes and was patient in building confidence. Lots of fun and friendly staff (and owner!)Written 1 August 2024
- Stuart03050 contributionsBrilliant funBrilliant fun! Went with my 11year old son, we had a buggy for two but half way round, Jamal, who was our guide took my son his quad bike and showed him how to drive it. My son thought this was ‘brilliant’ and it made the excursion even more enjoyable. We were picked up and dropped back to our hotel without any fuss. Would throughly recommend this and we hope to do it again before we return home. Special thanks to Jamal for making this such a great experience.Written 26 July 2024

We started our trip being collected from our hotel in a minibus. After a reasonable journey out into the desert which had a number of sights and sounds on the way we arrived at the main camp.
After being fitted for a helmet and goggles we were given a short introduction to the buggy and a safety talk. We were the only couple who had booked the buggy tour and the others in our group had booked the quad bikes, this ment that we ended up having a private tour which was a huge bonus.
Our guide, Mahjoub was absolutely fantastic throughout the day. He started us off with a short demo, up a small hill to do a loop and back down again. I'm sure this was as much for him to assess our skill as it was for us to build some confidence. We started off slow but after a very short while we got used to the vehicle and Mahjoub took us through more and more challenging routes which was fantastic.
We stopped for a short while to take some pictures and videos on one of the highest peaks. It was fantastic to see the dust trails from other people out and about. It's a huge area where there are just enough other groups about so you don't feel too lost while having plenty of space to play and explore.
My wife then decided she had the confidence to take on some of the hills and valleys so she drove us to the pitstop.
Here we stopped in what seemed to be a desert farm to have some mint tea, bread and olives. Here you will find basic washing facility's and toilets. I think this is where some of the camel rides must start off as there are a number of 4x4's parked up.
After around 30minutes we head back to the buggy where Mahjoub then takes us over some of the highest peaks for some more great photo opportunities. Heading back to the main camp Mahjoub managed to get a great video of us using my phone while we drove back through the riverbeds and over the dunes.
On returning to the start we were 'we washed down' using a airline to remove all of the dust. You get really dusty and it's super dry and windy out in the desert so be prepared. Mahjoub had loads of water though so never went thirsty. Definitely would recommend a morning tour though and make sure you are all covered up.
The other great thing about a buggy is that the passenger is sat right next to you and can get loads of photos and videos. Also they get to see and experience it just as well as you opposed to being sat behind you on a quad holding on.
Also felt far safer with a roll cage around you and this ment we were way more comfortable hitting speeds around 30mph on the tops of the dunes.
We were then returned back to our hotel via 4x4 which took around 30minutes or so.
Absolutely great experience and would definitely recommend.

What a fantastic trip! Chaiba (our tour guide) was really friendly, fun and really helpful. He was the perfect host and made the experience even better (he even gave us Moroccan names which we thought was great). The views of the desert whilst driving were beautiful and although it is a bit of a adrenaline excursion it was actually really relaxing too: The stop off at the local family was lovely, the tea and bread was delicious! Overall I would 100% recommend this trip and our tour guide, our best day of the holiday!

Visiting Marrakech with our 2 sons in their early twenties we wanted more than just a city break. This tour left us totally exhilarated. One son son described it as "a day you get once in a very long time"
Four of us in 2 buggies was perfect with ample opportunity for all of us to have a go driving.
Tour guide Rabii was friendly, fun and informative and knew the vehicles inside out.
Over 2 hours actual driving in spectacular Sahara terrain with the backdrop of the Atlas mountains.
If you visit Marrakech this is a must.

What an exhilarating experience, the tour, the photos, the sand buggy, the lunch, the views - everything was perfect and we’d 100% do it all again.
Rabii was such a fantastic guide who did it all; knew the best routes, made us feel at ease and took some amazing photos and videos that’ll give us memories for years to come! All in all we covered 100kms and really felt like we got to properly experience some real Moroccan scenery!

We booked the private tour option as a family of 4. The whole experience was great! Pick up was punctual, 1 hour to the desert camp, short briefing and trial drive and then we headed out for 90 minutes. A lot of fun. Started with us adults driving, then swapped so that both kids drove too (18 & 16 years old). Simo, our guide rode ahead on his quad bike and judged the speed and choice of terrain perfectly. Back for pancakes, honey and tea! Back to the Median by 1.45, perfect! Just wished we’d booked one of the nearby camps for a night too as they look cool!

The whole experience was fantastic. We were met promptly for our transfer (only downside as it was 90 minutes each way which wasn’t expected) and headed off to the desert.
On arrival we were met with tea and surprised to find that we actually had a personal guide for each booked group so we had a private tour. We practiced driving and had all safety gear then drove off for 2 hours of excitement in the desert including 2 photo stops including a photographer at the first, and then tea and pancakes at a small village.
It was a fab experience and we had the best time. Our guide, Abdel, was brilliant and checked in, showed us loads of places and made sure we got what we wanted out of the trip.
Photos were very affordable and were sent 53 so thoroughly worth it.
Cannot recommend more highly. Wish we could do it again. Just prepare for a longish drive.

Experience was ok. Buggy was fine and pancakes tasty. However, I did notice a distinct and obvious preference towards the French speakers of the group. I felt we were treated a bit like an afterthought.

We had so much fun driving the dune buggy through the desert where it was surprisingly nice and cool. We got very, very, very dusty, but it was all part of the experience. The photographer managed to get some really cool pictures of us too. A special shout out goes to our tour guide Rabii who was excellent! He was very charismatic and took our phone to get a great video of us driving the buggies in the desert.
I would definitely recommend this experience.

Is the price per buggy? We see possibly looking at 4 adults who would want their own buggy to drive. Thanks
