Atlas Mountains and Berber Villages Day Trip from Marrakech
From US$46.00
Overview
Explore the Berber villages of the Atlas Mountains on a full-day trip to the Imlil Valley, Ait Souka, Azroul waterfalls, and Taourirt. Visiting Berber homes to eat lunch and drink tea gives this day a more personal feel than traditional tours, with time to ride a camel, hike, and ride a mule to a Berber community high in the mountains.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Marrakech and then travel into the Atlas Mountains via Moulay Brahim Gorges, where you’ll pause by a riverside trailhead for a scenic camel ride.

Next, continue into the beautiful Imlil Valley, stopping in a Berber village for a traditional welcome: a glass of mint tea. From there, ride a mule 1.9 miles (3 kilometers) to the highest village in the Imlil Valley, with spectacular views along the way.

To get to the Berber village of Ait Souka, you’ll hike for roughly two hours, passing a series of small communities and stopping for lunch in a Berber home that overlooks terraced fields. After visiting the Azroul waterfalls, head back to the vehicle for the return trip to Marrakech, where this tour concludes.

Spent our birthday on this tour and it didn’t disappoint. Fun from start to finish. With Mohammed (potato) our guide making the tour all the more special. He was funny, knowledgeable and more than helpful. Would highly recommend this tour!!

In the mountains

It was an early morning for us, and Mohammed (potatoes) made us feel welcome throughout. We met him in the main square for pick up, due to our riad being hard to reach. The trip had lots of stops and helped to break up the...More

Nothing as advertised

We just got back from the tour and unfortunately we feel like we waisted a day in our holiday. Yes the driver was extremely friendly and picked us up at our riad. Our guide was also very young with lots of jokes. But that was...More

The camels looked to be in good health, they are kept at the side of the road but the trail you take is away from the main road, I didn't see water for the camels however they ships of the desert and can go days without.
