- 1The Ouzoud Falls - Cascades d'Ouzoud - are 110 m high which makes it the second tallest waterfall in Africa. It’s a huge touristic destination and one of the most visited and photographed natural sites in all of Morocco. It stands atop of the Azilal region of Morocco, overlooking the Tanaghmeilt village. The waterfalls empty into the El-Abid River (Slaves' River). The word ‘Ouzoud’ was said to be Berber for ‘the act of grinding grain.’ Apparently, a lot of the buildings there happened to be grinding mills which probably utilizing the force of the water.
About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- E2375YIhenkd0 contributionsVery pleasamt and reliable !Esprit d' aventure has arranged a very pleasant and well executed trip (4days) through Atlas and to Merzouga (2 nights). Good and punctual transport and arrangements. Highly recommended.Written 27 January 2025
- helgasL4484IA0 contributionsWARNING!We booked the tour 24 hours before the tour for a family member's birthday. We arrived at the location 20 minutes early, but no one came to pick us up, we called the phone number and wrote many emails but no one answered. First 2 hours later someone called and said we had booked the same day, which shouldn't have been possible. I heard a lot of excuses. We have requested a refund but we will see how it goes... ps. About the meetingpoint; it's stupid to meet someone at "Aisha restaurant" because it is just somewhere in the big square!Written 26 December 2024
- Mustavi0 contributionsBest excursionIt was really good, would recommend to anyone! They offer a lot of help and recommendation with the excursion they have available!Written 28 September 2024

- Rukia W0 contributionsAvoid this company! They don’t take any responsibility or ownership for anythingI do not recommend them at all! Went to Ourika valley on the 24th of July. 1) No air conditioning on the bus in 35 degrees Celsius weather, with no windows in back row 2) Several stops on the way before the waterfall then we reached the 1st point and the guide said we’d be too late if we carried on, just take photos here!!! So we wasted time in other spots and didn’t even get to do the one thing we went on the trip for! 3) The lunch spot is by the river and the view looks good, but you have to pick a 3 course meal that costs 130 MAD, they only offer samples of food and it tastes really bad! 4) On the way back the bus broke down! The driver didn’t speak English, so he didn’t explain what happened! When we asked he lied and said they’re sending another bus, instead he waited for cars that were headed back to take us (depending on how many available seats they had- in any)!! After 2 hours of waiting in the sun, when I got frustrated the driver said you didn’t pay me anything, call the company and complain or just wait! I called the guy that I booked with and he listened to the story then hung up as if his connection dropped! They ruined our day, we return to exhausted, stressed and we’d missed our dinner reservation!Written 27 April 2023
- ianx174890 contributionsWonderful trip from start to finish. Highly recommended. We were a group of four and booked a private tour by 4x4 to the three valleys in the Atlas mountains. The whole trip was first class from beginning to end. It is usually a gamble choosing a trip operator trying to decide which one won't rip you off.... Having checked out a few, Esprit D'Adventure was by far the most professional with very fair prices upfront and no pressure to book. Mehdi was excellent in explaining all options and letting us choose what best suited our needs. The 4x4 was a Toyota Land Cruiser and was in very good clean condition with a very pleasant driver, (Muhammed), who gave us a running commentary along the way. Once at the Valley the local guide was there to meet us and he arranged a mule for one of our group which she loved. The walk was really enjoyable and the guide was a lovely local guy, very friendly with perfect English. The small family restaurant for lunch was much better than we were expecting , delicious tagine of chicken and fresh oranges, in a pleasant setting, with good friendly service. We had also booked the camel ride which lasts about twenty minutes, which was very enjoyable. In summary, we would more than happily recommend this trip and company for excellent hassle free service at very fair prices.Written 7 February 2023

Many thanks to our driver Yassin! He was safe, reliable and stopped at many great spots along the way! Would highly recommend this tour if you are trying to get between Marrakech to Fes/Chefchaouen.Written 6 May 2022
- naomihickey0 contributionsAMAZING EXPERIENCEBest time ever!! Riding the camels at sunset was magical and the camp was so fun. The stars were so incredible we slept outside on the rugs! Rachid, our driver, made the trip so worth it for us!! He was so fun and taught us Arabic phrases to use and helped us practice, we had fun listening to music on the road and learning about things on the drive. We decided not to make all of the stops on the way back but ended up being invited for dinner with rachids family and it was delicious and beautiful!! Once in a lifetime experience.Written 8 August 2021

- sevastianan0 contributionsInteresting experienceIt was a very interesting experience. but as others have written, what they are selling is something and you receive much less. Firstly, in all excursions you ll book know that you will share the bus with people that have booked from other agencies (personally I don't mind). The travel agencies mix the people together to save money probably so they share the same bus and driver. Regardless, it was a nice experience, but if you have time go for three days and not one. It is a very long trip from Marakkech (with many curves on the roads so you get dizzy) and it is exhausting. Be prepared for the toilets which are holes on the floor, women take TOILET ROLL WITH YOU anywhere you go, in the evening it is freezing in the desert, (if you are easily disgusted, take pillow cases with you, even a bed sheet. I don't think they wash those blankets frequently). Mohammed and the guys are nice, they sang and played the drum in the evening. but of course like everybody else, at the end they ask you for tips. so have some extra money with you. I asked the specific travel agent whether the tend was private and he said yes. well it was not. We shared it with two more people, so four in general. And he also said that we were supposed to stop at the cinema thing to see a movie or something for the movies that took place in Ourzazate. That did not happened. what he meant is that we will pass from OUTSIDE to take a photo. I can google the photo, why would i need to pass outside to take one! pointless. We also went to Aït Benhaddou, the guide there was horrible. he did not even take us high up. He only took us to the shop of his friend at the end for just five minutes, and ofcourse he said the price was fix. Guess what, it wasnt. We bargained hah. and at the end they take you at a restaurant with a horrible pizzas (lidl has better ones), and asks you to pay him, 30MAD. I WANTED TO REFUSE. HE WASNOT WORTH IT. the guide in our previous tour in Ouzoud was great, and he deserved the tips. This guide tho did not.Written 17 February 2020
- Benlevy220 contributionsGlampingMohammed was so accommodating and helpful. We had the best tour to Wassa Zat and Merzouga. Everything he said we were going to do, we did. Very honest guy. Seriously beautiful tour, and we love the Glamping more than anything.Written 16 February 2020
- 296jenniferb0 contributions4 Days Zagora and Merzouga private tourHighly recommend! Our driver was Mohamed was awesome. He has so much experience and kindly pointed out many things during the trip. We really valued his advice. And he was our photographer ;) The trip was great. We had a lovely experience both at Zagora and Merzouga Berber camps. (Best sunrise was Zagora and best sunset was in Merzouga.) Ait Ben Haddou was fascinating and, as movie lovers, we made a stop at Atlas Studios too.Written 22 December 2019

We got picked up a little late but our driver made up for since he was really nice and entertaining. Only down fall is that even though it says tour guide is included it isn’t you have to pay separate. Just be mindful to bring more cash if need for the tour guided.

Like others have mentioned, you get there and a guide appears out of nowhere asking for another 3 euros. We didn't want a guided tour so we declined. Rather than what has been implied in the company replies on here, it wasn't just a friendly offer you could easily decline. He pressured us to go with him, saying we would get lost on our own and bad things would happen and in the end we would miss the bus back home and get stuck because according to him the bus would leave right on time and not wait even 5 minutes. So we went with him and the ordeal began. Seriously at every tree or corner he stopped and made a terrible joke. It was so awkward, another younger group there was with us in the back rolling their eyes. But even if you would look to the ground, praying he wouldn't notice you, he would. He'd tap you on the shoulder trying to get a reaction from you for his joke. Halfway through me and my friends got fed up and left. He got really angry. We didn't even have time to really enjoy the waterfall, would've loved to have a meal with the view but couldn't. Found our way back to the bus just fine, when I confronted him about how he lied to us about getting lost and what he had to say for himself he got angry and said something about tourists being disrespectful. Also the bus left like half an hour later than what was scheduled. Horrible last day in Morocco of a wonderful 2 week stay! His name was Hamid.

Mehdi was extremely helpful and the organisation and trips were amazing.
Very trustworthy operation and nice buses and staff - I trust this place and had a few trip’s which were very organised and punctual.
I even lost my jacket on one of the trips and they couldn’t do enough to help and my jacket was returned with all contents.

Trip to Ouzoud waterfalls. It is always nice to see a driver to cooperate with a scammy guide. Paid only for transport (like some other people). When arrived, suddenly a guide appeared (price 3 euros per person). Fortunately, I didn't pay him (unlike others). Look for for a better company.

Dear Marcel,
Thank you for taking time to write your freed-back.
First we are sorry about the misunderstanding you had in your trip to Ouzoud waterfalls .
Regarding the local guide in Ouzoud waterfalls is not included in the trip , it is only an option as mentioned before .
The driver just suggest a guide for the customers and they need to pay 3 euro per person if they want to go with him ,otherwise customers are free to go for their own and enjoy their trip, and after they meet the driver to take them back to Marrakech .
Fortunately, you did not pay anything and we did not charge you anything .
Please gently remove your review cause it does not represent our services and our company's reputation.
Kind regards

Really really impressed with the all round service of these guys.. nothing was too difficult for them to do. All drivers were extremely polite, considerate and courteous. Prices were also very competitive and when I tried to discreetly tip the drivers they advised me I had over paid which was really nice. The drivers were also used as tour guides (Which they did off their own back) Abdur razzaq in particular was brilliant. I would highly recommend these guys, the boss, Mehdi, kept in touch with me constantly and his communication in all aspects was excellent. Thank you once again for making my holiday with my family one a memorable experience!

On arriving in Ouzoud we were greeted by the supposed tour guide named Hamid who was keen to show his pass around his neck showing how important apparently he was. However he also made it clear we had to pay him 2.5 Euro s per person for the privilege of his tour, despite it being included in the price. It was questioned by us and 3 other English girls, who he ended up telling they either had to leave.or pay. He made them exchange English money. He also made us pay or we wouldn't be picked up and taken back to Marrakech. This tour company works in tandem with this tour guide to extort more money from you. Plus don't expect to visit a 'Natural Bridge' as there isn't one.
Do visit Ouzoud as its an amazing place but I would pay more money with a tour operator from home to ensure you are not taken advantage of.
This was appalling behaviour by the drivers and this supposed tour guide. They also force you on a particular route so you HAVE TO pay for the boat at the bottom. Take your booking confirmation and get everything written down.
